Angelina Jolie thinks Bob Geldof is a "wonderful, wonderful man".
The former Boomtown Rats star has been criticised for his part in the Band Aid 30 single, which is considered patronising by some, but Angelina, 39, has defended Bob, insisting he organised the charity single to fight Ebola with the best intentions in mind.
The 'Maleficent' actress said: "I think what Bob Geldof does comes from his heart and he's a wonderful, wonderful man.
"Their intention was absolutely in the right place. We all have our ways of approaching this continent and we all have our ways of answering the call to help others and they're all different and we all do work differently, but I think in our hearts for the same reason, so that's what's important, and I have different ways."
However, Angelina admits much more needs to be done in order to beat Ebola, telling Channel 4 News: "Like everybody I'm gravely concerned. We have a clinic in Addis we're just opening.
"It's a TB Aids clinic and we've been wondering if we need to turn it into more infectious diseases. We've been speaking to a lot of people on the ground.
"There is so much more that needs to be done, but I am of course not a scientist or somebody that is physically there to know how much more we can do."

Jennifer Aniston turned an interviewer into a shaking wreck by pretending to be offended at his questions.
The 'Horrible Bosses 2' actress was asked by BBC Radio 1's Chris Stark how she would approach a guy in a nightclub and Jennifer - who helped arrange the joke with DJ Scott Mills - took umbrage with the question.
Chris asked: "As a famous person, how would you make the first move in a club?"
The former 'Friends' star - who is engaged to actor Justin Theroux - responded by saying: "First of all, I don't think that's an extremely appropriate question. I'm also committed to somebody, I don't hit on people."
Chris explained he was told to ask the question by his bosses, but later quizzed Jennifer on whether she's ever thought about penning erotic fiction.
At that stage, Scott Mills interrupts the interview to put his friend out of his misery and Jennifer leaned in for a hug.
Afterwards, Chris tweeted: "I apologise in advance for this, it was all a bit of a nightmare and I didnt know Scott and Jennifer Aniston were in on this #AnistonPrank.
"I have never felt how I felt in this five minutes with Jennifer Aniston. Im shaking right now. (sic)"

Taylor Swift has no time for fake friends.
The 'Shake It Off' hitmaker says she's not interested in being friends with people who are only keen on spending time with her because she's rich and famous.
She explained: "My friends are the kind of people that have their own lives, and their own busy schedules, and that's why we get along so well."
The 24-year-old star - who released her fifth studio album '1989' last month - told ASOS: "A lot of 'celebrities' surround themselves with these very chic cling-ons who don't really have much of a job or a passion, they follow around their celebrity BFF and provide constant affirmation for them and I'm really not interested in that kind of deal."
Taylor also admits her friends influence her taste in fashion, explaining: "When I'm getting dressed, it's always based on what my friends will think. They are my number one priority and the opinions of girls are more important to me at this point in my life."
But Taylor concedes criticism can be beneficial.
She reflected: "The first step to receiving negativity is to decide whether or not it is the opinion of somebody that you care about.
"If it's somebody that I respect, then I really do take it into account because 'haters gonna hate' only applies to people who are simply criticising you because their life sucks.
"As much as I would really like to have saved myself heartache, embarrassment or gossip, I also know that my biggest mistakes have turned into my best lessons and sometimes my greatest career triumphs."

Shia LaBeouf is abiding by the plea deal he reached with Manhattan prosecutors after his drunken meltdown in June.
The 'Fury' actor appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court earlier today (25.11.14) to submit proof he's been attending an alcohol treatment class in Los Angeles following his bizarre conduct at a performance of the musical 'Cabaret', when he shouted obscenities, smoked cigarettes and slapped one of the actors on the backside.
However, following his appearance in court, attorney Robert Gage praised his client's recent transformation, saying: "Shia has done a terrific job of complying with the program. And we appreciate the court's recognition of it."
Under the terms of his plea agreement, Shia, 28, will see the charges against him dismissed provided he is not rearrested.
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Shia's 'Fury' co-star Brad Pitt has inspired the troubled actor to do more charity work.
A source told US OK! magazine: "Brad's involvement with global causes is something that Shia admires.
"Shia wants to show people that he's more than an entitled Hollywood punk. He's actually a down-to-earth guy who's been through a lot - and he's still aiming to come out on top."

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has blasted Simon Cowell for commenting on her weight.
The 31-year-old beauty said it was ungentlemanly for a man in his 50s to suggest she'd gained weight prior to her brief appearance on the US version of 'The X Factor' in 2011.
The former Girls Aloud star told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "At the age of 55, he hasn't learnt that a gentleman shouldn't talk about a woman's weight."
'The X Factor' boss caused major controversy earlier this year when he claimed Cheryl's appearance was markedly different when she turned up to film the show.
He told the Radio Times: "We then did the first day of auditions, and she was nervous, shy, not in her comfort zone.
"She'd put on a bit of weight, but not loads. That wasn't the issue. The only way I can describe it is that it wasn't Cheryl sitting in that seat. She'd lost her confidence."
At the time, Cheryl - who has rejoined 'The X Factor' judging panel this year - was quick to respond, telling Yahoo!: "I heard this rumour and I think a gentleman should never speak about a woman's age or weight but that's only if you're educated on how to treat a woman.
"So, unlucky for him. And who listens to Simon Cowell these days anyway. Does anybody? I don't listen to him anymore."

Nick Cannon has denied having any romance with Amber Rose.
The 34-year-old entertainer recently separated from Mariah Carey, whom he married in 2008, and has since been romantically linked to Amber Rose, 31, who filed for a divorce from her husband Wiz Khalifa in September, citing irreconcilable differences.
However, Nick has denied those suggestions, saying: "I have not done a 'ting' with Amber Rose. It's the truth, it's the truth."
In an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra, Nick also denied that he and his estranged wife Mariah - who have three-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan together - are now friends with benefits.
He said: "We are friends but we will be friends for life."
Nick was then asked whether he'd ever had any romance with any of the Kardashian sisters, to which he replied: "Yes. And I always get in trouble when I talk about this but I always tell the truth so ... The ones that are of age."
Nick then admitted he was just referring to Kim Kardashian West, whom he dated between September 2006 and January 2007.
Previously, Nick claimed the pair split because she lied about the existence of her sex tape with singer Ray J.

Reese Witherspoon thinks Hollywood is "centuries behind" when it comes to gender equality.
The 'Wild' actress has slammed the film industry, claiming its views on gender disparity are outdated and insisting bosses don't accurately represent women in movies.
When asked if she considers herself to be a feminist, the 38-year-old star said: "Obviously I'm a feminist, and I'm incredibly aware of the huge, huge problems [with gender disparity] in Hollywood.
"I mean, it's like, are we a century behind there in that world?"
However, Reese - who plays Cheryl Strayed in 'Wild', based on the memoir of the same name - heaped praise on the film's director Jean-Marc Vallee and screenplay writer Nick Hornby for their sensitive approach to making the film, which details a woman's journey of self-discovery.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, she said: "But I think Nick and Jean-Marc have feminist sensibilities. They're men, but they are comfortable really both helping and allowing women to tell their stories."
Even the book's writer Cheryl expressed her concerns about her story being translated into a movie.
She said: "It's actually a challenging concept for a film, frankly, 'Oh, gee, a woman's walking alone through the wilderness. Let's make it a movie!' "

Angelina Jolie thinks she'd be a "better wife" to Brad Pitt if she was a more skilled cook.
The 39-year-old actress accepts she has limited kitchen skills and she believes her 50-year-old husband would like it if her array of dishes was bigger, but Brad insists he loves her just the way she is.
In an interview on the 'Today' show, she said: "We have moments where I say, 'I'm going to be a better wife! I'm going to learn to cook,' and he says, 'Oh honey, know what you're good at, know what you're not.' He knows my limitations and where I'm a good wife and a good mom."
The Academy Award-winning star also opened up on her wedding to Brad in the South of France in August and admitted she was surprised that being married made her feel differently about Brad and their family.
Speaking about the nuptials, she explained: "It did change (things). It was in just a feeling of that security and comfort that we always had, but recommitting after 10 years together. And we were fortunate enough to be in that unusual situation where we got married with our children, and they were a part of the ceremony and they wrote some of the vows. So it was all of us agreeing to be together and to commit to this life together - not because we had to, not because anything was missing in our lives, but because we were absolutely sure. It was really lovely, it was a lovely day."
Angelina and Brad raise six children together, Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, eight, and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
