Abbey Clancy gets a ‘buzz’ from helping family

Abbey Clancy gets a bigger "buzz" from helping her family than she does from the perks of her fashion jobs.
The 28-year-old model - who regularly poses for lingerie brand Ultimo - is very proud of her career and the opportunities she has but she insists her motivation for being successful is to be able to provide for her loved ones.
Speaking in the January issue of Cosmopolitan magazine - of which she is the cover star - she said: "For a lot of people it's a massive deal to be on the front row at Fashion Week and look perfect. I don't go to be seen, I go to look at the collections, and support my friends, like Henry (Holland), Giles (Deacon) and Jonathan Saunders. As much as I love clothes and shopping, it doesn't drive me.
"No one can complain about earning good money, but for me it's being able to help my family out, put my brother and sister through school, take my family on holiday. That's where I get the biggest buzz, not buying a pair of £500 shoes."
Abbey - who has a three-year-old daughter, Sophia, with her husband, soccer player Peter Crouch - enjoys her career much more now than when she started off.
The blonde beauty - who finished as runner-up on 'Britain's Next Top Model' in 2006 when she was 20 - felt slightly intimidated by bigger stars when she first entered the fashion world but now she is confident in herself.
She said: "It was overwhelming in the beginning. I was only 18 and was having paparazzi following me. I'd be standing next to Victoria Beckham in an H&M dress! Oh, my god, that was odd. But I think you grow up."
Abbey was honoured at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards on Wednesday night (03.12.14) where she was presented with the Ultimate Style Icon prize.
The full interview with Abbey is in the January 2015 issue of Cosmopolitan (www.cosmopolitan.co.uk/abbey) on sale December 4.

Bono ‘can’t move’ due to injuries

Bono "can't move" for "a couple of months" after sustaining a number of injuries in a bicycle accident.
The U2 frontman was left with a fractured face, shoulder blade and broken elbow following the incident in New York's Central Park last month and though his bandmate The Edge insists he is "doing OK", he is ruled out of action for some time.
He said: "He managed to come out of it with what you could only describe as injuries from a car crash, literally, multiple fractures of bones in his elbow and in his back But he's doing OK.
"We're kind of lucky he was wearing a helmet so he didn't actually break Central Park. But he's made of of tough stuff and he's bouncing back.
"He's been told by his doctors that he's got to stay put. He's back in Dublin right now and basically he can't move for the next couple of months."
The 54-year-old singer has been advised to stay as still as possible to allow his back to heal as, unlike his elbow, on which he underwent a five-hour operation to have three metal plates and 18 screws inserts, he hasn't had surgery there.
The Edge explained to KROQ's 'Kevin & Bean Show': "The poor guy. Basically his left elbow was shattered so a lot of the work was reconstructing the joints and putting in wires and plates. He actually showed us an X-Ray a couple of days later and it looked like a miniature of the Eiffel Tower was in his elbow and then the same had to happen with a fracture of his pinky, the joint there was totally messed up, so that needed a bone graft.
"And the most vulnerable was actually his upper back, the scapula because they couldn't put any plates in there or they decided not to do surgery. So he has got to be very still and not move around 'til that's really healed.
"He's doing physio to keep the joints active twice a day."
The Edge admitted the accident happened because the 'One' singer "wasn't paying enough attention" to his surroundings.
He said: "It was a Sunday, a lot of people in the park and he just wasn't paying enough attention. He was going fast down a bit of a hill and somebody came out onto the cycle way, he swerved to avoid them and just went straight over the bars."

Katie Price to ‘test’ friends’ loyalty at Christmas

Katie Price wants to "test" her friends this Christmas.
The former glamour model - who was left devastated earlier this year after learning her pals Jane Pountney and Chrissy Thomas cheated on her husband Kieran Hayler - will be taking a "step back" this year because she is worried that some of her pals are taking advantage of her generosity.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I've really stepped back and valued things in a different way. For Christmas it will be a test, because I'm not going to go all out I'm gonna spend more on a couple of quality presents, wrap them up nice and give it that way and see what the reaction is.
"The trouble with Christmas is, because people think you earn money, you'll buy them massive and loads of presents. I've had a wake-up call this year and I'm thinking, you know what, people expect so much from me all of the time.
"If I was stripped back, as in I didn't have the money, didn't have the fame, would I really have some of the friends I have?"
The 36-year-old star - who has decided to stay with her husband, despite him cheating on her with Jane and Chrissy - was adamant her new outlook wasn't down to being stingy but simply because she wants her friends to love her as she is.
She said: "People look at me as if I am the Santa Claus, that I'm the one who's going to dish it all out. But this year - it's not being Scrooge or anything like that - I want to know that people actually really want to know me for me.
"Being loyal is a massive thing for me at the minute."
Speaking at the launch of her fifth perfume Kissable Fierce yesterday (03.12.14), Katie admitted she "never" gives her own products to her loved ones.
She said: "I never, ever, ever give my friends anything that I do, because I never go home and talk about work with them, for one.
"Like, for presents I wouldn't give it to them as a present. I would buy them a present. If they want anything I've got then I would give it to them. But I don't go home and say, 'Oh I've got all this and I've got that out.' "

Justin Bieber moves out

Justin Bieber has moved out of his Beverly Hills home.
The 'Beauty and a Beat' hitmaker cleared his belongings from a rented condominium on Monday (01.12.14), six months after he moved in, and his relieved neighbours are reportedly so pleased he is gone, they are considering throwing a party to celebrate, TMZ reports.
Days after moving into the building - in which he rented the penthouse plus an apartment below - police were called to speak to Justin amid complaints of a strong smell of marijuana.
A month later, the building hired extra security but despite that, law enforcement visited the star's home six times in just one night following complaints from neighbours.
The force even advised Justin's neighbours to place him under citizen's arrest if he disturbs them again.
The 20-year-old singer - who is on probation for two years for egging the property of a resident in his old Calabasas neighbourhood - wasn't cited during the weekend long party as he complied with police and agreed to turn the music down, although any further incidents could have serious consequences for him.
An insider explained at the time: "If the Beverly Hills Police Department cites Justin, they will forward the matter to the Los Angeles County Probation Department, which could trigger a probation violation and then he's in jail territory."
However, the stern talking to didn't last as the 'Never Say Never' singer was visited again by Beverly Hills police when he threw a "homecoming" party in October.
Officers visited the property twice before breaking up the gathering of 30-40 people in the early hours of the morning.
Justin is said to be looking for a new home in Los Angeles.

Terry Jones struggling to pay mortgage

Terry Jones is struggling to pay his mortgage, despite receiving £800,000 for the Monty Python live shows.
The 72-year-old performer has a £700,000 interest-only mortgage on his £2.5 million house, but is finding it difficult pay off after he was forced to share half of his enormous salary with his ex-wife Alison Telfer, meaning he was left with around £200,000 after tax from the gigs.
Despite separating from Alison in 2009, Terry still had to pay her half of his earnings because Monty Python dates from 1969 so it counts as part of his work before their split.
He said: "We each got £800,000 for the shows but when I got divorced I agreed with my ex-wife that everything that I'd done up to then, up to the separation, we would split 50-50.
"So my share got halved to £400,000 and paying tax on it it's more like £200,000."
The actor and writer - who is currently married to Anna Soderstrom, 31 - admitted he may have to move from his home in Hampstead, north London, because of his mortgage struggles.
When asked if he might leave his London abode, he told The Times newspaper: "I'm not sure. Maybe I can pay it off, maybe not."
Terry reformed Monty Python last year with co-stars John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle and Terry Gilliam and the comedy troupe played to sell out crowds at the 16,000-seater O2 Arena in July, and Terry admits the reunion felt like a "warm bath".
He said: "Ooh, well I was very excited! Apart from the fact that I couldn't remember my lines in the 'Four Yorkshiremen and the Crunchy Frog' sketches. Apart from that, the audience were so warm and welcoming, you just go out on the stage there and it was like taking a warm bath really."

New Bond film is called SPECTRE

The new James Bond film is called 'SPECTRE'.
Director Sam Mendes - who also helmed the 2012 007 film 'Skyfall' - made the announcement at an event staged at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire earlier today (04.12.14), during which he revealed the movie's title will be the name of the fictional global terrorist organisation from the Bond novels by Ian Fleming.
Sam said: "The title of the 24th Bond movie is 'SPECTRE'. Those of you who have some knowledge of the Bond franchise and of the legend of Bond will probably have some idea what that refers to, but I couldn't possibly comment."
SPECTRE - which stands for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion - is led by iconic evil genius Ernst Stavro Blofeld and the infamous cat-loving, scarred super-villain and his organisation played a prominent part in the 'Dr. No' and 'Thunderball' movies, and also appeared in 'You Only Live Twice', 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service', 'Diamonds Are Forever' and 'For Your Eyes Only'.
So far no actor has been cast as Blofeld in the film but rumours are rife the super-spy's nemesis will play a prominent role.
Previous actors to bring the character to life on the big screen include Telly Savalas, Max Von Sydow, Charles Gray and most famously Donald Pleasence.
At the event - which was streamed live on 007.com and Facebook.com/JamesBond007 - Mendes also revealed the Bond franchise would be continuing its association with the Aston Martin car brand, and he unveiled the new Aston Martin D10 that will feature in the much-anticipated film at the announcement.
He said: "The first cast member that I will introduce to you is a non-human cast member. Over to my right here, I am really excited and thrilled to be able to say that we have continued our 50-year relationship with Aston Martin, which began right at the very beginning of this franchise.
"Together, we have worked on designing a new car - and so, I can reveal, the new Aston Martin D10. A thing of beauty and you can see what it can do when you come and see the movie."
The 49-year-old actor was joined at the announcement by Daniel Craig - who is reprising his role as Bond - and the other cast members.
Following the latest revelations about Craig's fourth Bond movie, speculation has increased about the film being his last as the suave spy with bookmaker William Hill offering 6/1 that the actor leaves the role after this movie and 33/1 for him to win an Oscar for his performance in 'SPECTRE'.
Tom Hardy is 3/1 favourite to replace Craig, while Idris Elba is available at 4/1 and Michael Fassbender 11/2, with actors such as Robert Pattinson (33/1), Hugh Jackman (50/1) and Brad Pitt (66/1) offering more value.

Christoph Waltz to star on 007 film SPECTRE

Christoph Waltz has been cast as Oberhauser in the new James Bond movie 'SPECTRE'.
The 58-year-old actor - who has previously starred in 'Inglorious Basterds' and 'Django Unchained' - was confirmed in the role of Bond's skiing instructor during an specially arranged event staged at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, South East England, earlier today (04.12.14).
Returning director Sam Mendes - who helmed the 2012 Bond film 'Skyfall' - said: "The most important member [of the visiting cast], I think - an extraordinary actor - I could not be happier than to be having in this cast and joining us on this journey, Mr Christoph Waltz."
Sam, 49, also revealed Monica Bellucci will play the part of Lucia Sciarra while Léa Seydoux - the 29-year-old French actress who has previously had roles in 'The Last Mistress' and 'On War' - will appear as Madeleine Swann.
The movie, which is set for release on November 6 2015, will also feature WWE wrestler and 'Guardians of the Galaxy' actor Dave Bautista, who will star as henchman Mr Hinx, as well as 'Sherlock' star Andrew Scott as Denbigh.
Returning cast members include Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny, Ben Wishaw as Q, Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner and Daniel Craig, who will be appearing as secret agent 007 for a fourth time.
The movie will be shot over a seven-month timeframe in a variety of locations, including London, Rome, Mexico City, Tangier and Erfoud in Morocco, and Sölden, Obertilliach and Lake Altausee in Austria.
The much-anticipated film has been named after the fictional terrorist organisation SPECTRE (Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion) led by evil genius Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
Even though Waltz has officially been cast as Oberhauser speculation on the internet is rife he could actually be portraying iconic villain Blofeld.
Following the cast and title announcement of the latest Bond movie - which was streamed live on 007.com and Facebook.com/JamesBond007 - attention has turned to who will sing the title track with bookmaker William Hill offering 4/1 on favourite Sam Smith taking the honour.
Ed Sheeran is second favourite at 6/1, while Lana Del Rey is 8/1 and Adele is 12/1 to repeat her success following her successful rendition of the previous film Skyfall's title track.

Kardashians enjoy Christmas party with long-time friend

The Kardashians enjoyed an all-girl Christmas party with their family friend Shelli Azoff last night (03.12.14).
The Kardashian trio, Kim Kardashian West and her sisters Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, were joined by their half-sister Kendall Jenner and mother Kris Jenner at the annual festive bash, and pregnant Kourtney got very much into the spirit of things by dressing in a red onesie complete with Santa hat.
Kim posted on Instagram: "Another fun annual all girls party! (sic)"
Khloe showed off her ample assets for the occasion in a plunging little black dress and took to her Instagram account to post several photographs from the event but admitted the Kardashian clan were missing their half-sister Kylie Jenner and brother Rob Kardashian.
In a message attached to a picture of her, Kendall, Kim and Kourtney, she wrote: "Pure love. Just missing @kyliejenner @robkardashian (sic)"
In another picture, in which she cheekily put two fingers up to the camera showing off her bright yellow nail varnish, she wrote the caption: "Auntie Shelli's girls party (sic)"
Kim, 35, also shared a number of snaps of the female fun on her social networking site and also posted a picture of her best pal Alison Statter at the festive bash, and jokingly encouraged her 26.1 million Twitter followers to "annoy" the blonde because she "doesn't like the attention".
She wrote: "Go follow my best friend @alistatter she won't even let me follow her bc she doesn't like the attention! Go annoy her (sic)"
Kendall and Kim both looked stunning as they enjoyed some premature festive fun in white outfits.
The Kardashians have known Shelli - who is married to music manager Irving Azoff, who has represented Kim's husband Kanye West in the past - since they were kids, and the longtime family friend gave an emotional pre-wedding speech in Paris ahead of Kim's nuptials in May.
She said: "There are things that I look for in people. And the big thing for me is heart, loyalty and most of all, character. Kim possesses all of those.
"Kim was destined, always, to be who she is today. From when, at eight years old she was trying on my diamond rings."

Rose Byrne’s career frustration

Rose Byrne sometimes thinks about quitting acting.
The 'Bridesmaids' actress finds it "frustrating" having to constantly prove herself but though she occasionally considers turning her back on showbusiness, she doesn't think she would find anything else she enjoyed as much.
She said: "I've always felt the need to prove (myself) again and again, and that can take its toll. On a frustrating day, it's like, 'Ugh, I want to do something else,' but I know essentially it's what I love to do the most, even when there are times that it's hard."
The 'Damages' star thinks acting is more of a "beauty pageant" for women these days and she feels men are still offered better roles.
She told The Edit magazine: "[Glenn Close and I] talk about how [acting] is a completely different game now. There wasn't as much scrutiny and it wasn't such a beauty pageant before.
"It's hard, especially in this business and especially for women. I hate to be a broken record about it, but if I compared my career to my male contemporaries, I feel like they get a lot more opportunities to play lead roles and have a potential story in something, whereas women's roles as the wife or the mother are limited. It's a harder thing for women to navigate."
The 35-year-old actress also "admires" people who wait for the right role to come along and wishes she had been brave enough to do the same.
She added: "I really admire people who wait, who have the wherewithal to say, 'I'm not going to just do anything, I'm going to wait for something I love, whether it's big or small.' I think there's a bravery in that which I have probably lacked."
