Coldplay are working on their "final" album.
The band - made up of Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion - have revealed they are currently recording their seventh studio album, 'A Head Full of Dreams', and likened the upcoming record to the final 'Harry Potter' movie in the film franchise.
Chris, 37, said: "We haven't told anyone this, but we're making an album called 'A Head Full of Dreams'. We're right in the middle of it.
"It's our seventh thing and we look at it as the last 'Harry Potter' book or something like that.
"Not to say that there won't be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something. It was great to go from 'Ghost Stories' right back in the studio."
The 'Sky Full of Stars' singer elaborated on his comments by saying he sees the album as the last thing the band - whose sixth studio album 'Ghost Stories' was released in May - will do apart from a tour to celebrate the record.
He added: "Now we're making things that sound different and it's a very fun time to be in our band. I have to think of it as the final thing that we're doing, otherwise we wouldn't put everything into it. Then we'll go on tour."
The singer made the announcement on BBC Radio 1 after their single 'Magic' was announced as the top track on presenter Zane Lowe's 100 Hottest Records of the Year, and afterwards Chris admitted he didn't get "permission" from the other band members to reveal the huge news.
Speaking to the host, he added: "Because it's you, I'll tell you. I feel a bit nervous to have said it because I didn't get permission!"

The 44-year-old actress portrays abusive mother Corrine Dollanganger in the Lifetime film and while she admitted it is a "twisted" tale and she does not endorse the distressing actions in the story, which include incest and child abuse, the blonde beauty admitted she found it exciting in a bizarre way.
She joked: "It's in a sexy kind of way, that's the thing.
"It's twisted but something about it is sort of sexy so you're like, 'Wow, this is so disturbing but sexy at the same time.' "
Heather insisted the film - which is based on 1979 novel of the same name by V. C. Andrews - was mainly about "really bad parenting" but admitted the incest storyline was "weirdly romantic".
Speaking on iHeart Radio, she added: "It's a dark story, it's about child abuse but it's told in this very kind of, sort of Gothic, kind of weirdly like romantic story about incest.
"I mean it's really twisted there's a brother-sister plot, it's really bad parenting, it's really just a movie about really bad parenting."
The 'Hangover' actress also admitted she has received plenty of positive feedback about her role as child abuser Corrine, who attempts to reclaim the family fortune following the death of her husband so moves her four children into her abusive mother's house, where they are forced to live in the attic.
She said: "I've been told I played a good child abuser. But you know in life, I'm not [a child abuser].
"I just want you to know I am not endorsing this story, I'm not saying this is a story of healthy behaviour."

Mariah Carey has reportedly slammed production staff for leaking a recording of her vocals from her performance at the switching on of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lights.
The 'We Belong Together' hitmaker performed live at the event on Wednesday (03.12.14) after failing to show up to pre-record the day before and it's now been claimed she's blaming NBC employees for leaking a recording of her less than impressive vocals.
A source told the New York Daily News newspaper's Confidenti@l column: "It's really hard to leak 'just' audio. Mariah is blaming producers for leaking her audio track. She believes they did it to punish her for not showing up to taping the day before the live event!"
The 44-year-old star - who recently split from husband Nick Cannon, with whom she has three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe - left NBC staff and the audience waiting for three hours before failing to show up to the pre-record of her performance of 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'.
However, a representative for the blonde beauty insists she has no issue with the network's employees because, as she used a wireless microphone, anyone could jave recorded the isolated track.
They added: "She performed beautifully."

Alec Baldwin's wife wants another baby.
The former '30 Rock' star, who has 15-month-old daughter Carmen with Hilaria Baldwin, admits she is eager for them to expand their family in the near future.
Asked if they are planning to have more children, the 56-year-old actor said: "We'll see. Hilaria definitely thinks we should have one more, but we'll see what happens."
The 'Departed' star, who also has daughter Ireland, 19, with ex-wife Kim Basinger, says he has become a homebody since Carmen was born last year.
He said: "I choose to stay home with my wife and daughter. Going out - there's not a whole lot of that anymore."
But Alec misses having romantic dates with Hilaria, 30, which he says "have become tricky".
He added to Life & Style magazine: "Everything's about the baby."
The actor married the yoga instructor in June 2012 after meeting her in February 2011.
They moved in together in New York City after just six months of dating, but Hilaria previously admitted: "He didn't kiss me for six weeks! He shook my hand for six weeks. We'd have the most romantic dinner date, and afterward he'd drop me off at my house and shake my hand."

The Script pulled a woman from a car wreckage on Thursday (04.12.14).
The band were on their way to Key 103's Christmas Live Show in Manchester, north west England, when they sprung into action to help a female who was stuck in her vehicle after it hit a roadside barrier and flipped over on the M40 motorway.
Phoning local radio station Key 103 later in the day, the driver praised the group, saying: "I was hit on the side and it kept spinning round and round. Then they got me out of the car.
"I gave them a cuddle before I left but never said thank you."
The band - made up of Danny O'Donoghue, Mark Sheehan and Glen Power - later explained they ran to help the trapped motorist after ringing the emergency services, and branded the incident as "scary."
Danny said: "We called 911 then ran over to the car.
"She was trapped and saying she couldn't feel her legs, which was scary.
"But we managed to un-jam the door and get her out."
Despite the trio of hunks coming to the woman's rescue, the band admitted they found it funny she didn't recognise them until after the incident. Once the lads had taken her back to their van to wait for the emergency services to arrive, she realised who her saviours were and couldn't contain her excitement.
Danny added: "We were sat there and suddenly she said, 'Oh my God, you're The Script!'
"Then she jumped out of the van. I was like, 'Sit down!' She's a big fan which is amazing."
Speaking to a fan on Twitter later in the day, the band explained the woman escaped unharmed but the same couldn't be said for her car.
They added: "we had to do it or it could have been v v bad. She's ok now and that's the main thing. Her car is totalled. M (sic)."

Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger partied until 6am in Miami.
The 'Wrecking Ball' singer and her new beau, who is the son of Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger, were spotted enjoying a wild night out at E11even - a 24 hour adult show club - following her gig at The Raleigh hotel in Miami, Florida, on Wednesday night (03.12.14).
According to the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column, the couple - who are thought to have been dating since October - joined the club's Michael Jackson impersonator on the stage and only left "when the sun was coming up on Thursday morning".
The 22-year-old singer arrived at the club sporting the silver wig she had worn in her show just hours earlier and was joined at the nightspot by actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who spent the night at the club's owner Dennis DeGori's table.
While Patrick is clearly enjoying spending time with the former Disney star, it was recently reported his mother, Maria Shriver, is "very worried" about how her son is being influenced by his new girlfriend.
It is thought Maria became concerned after viewing some photos of Miley on a bucking bronco shaped like a manhood at the beauty's 22nd birthday party last month.
A source explained: "The birthday party with all the penis pictures disgusted her. That was the worst thing Miley could have done.
"Maria is very, very worried about the influence Miley's having on Patrick. She fully believes that you become who you surround yourself with and she's always been so happy with the friends Patrick chooses, she never saw this coming."
However, Patrick is reportedly "falling hard" for his new beau and is hoping their relationship will develop into more.
An insider said: "He is definitely falling hard for her and she really is liking all the attention he is giving her.
"This is something that is going to last."

Khloe Kardashian and French Montana have split for a second time.
The 30-year-old reality star is said to have called time on her on/off romance with the rapper, who she split from in September after eight months of dating before reuniting in November, because she felt their relationship was getting "too serious" and it was too soon after her failed marriage with Lamar Odom.
A source told Us Weekly: "Khloe just wasn't ready after Lamar [Odom] and it was getting too serious.
"She respects and cares for him but just wasn't ready."
The pair's latest split comes after Khloe - who filed for divorce from Lamar in December 2013 amid allegations he had cheated on her and took drugs - and 30-year-old musician's September separation occurred for very similar reasons.
A source said at the time: "They are on a break. The relationship got too heavy and Khloe needed to take a step back."
Another insider added: "It grated on her that he became so dependent on her."
But they were thought to have reunited just last month as the pair were seen getting close again at his 30th birthday party in Los Angeles.
An onlooker said: "Khloe and French are clearly together - they were hugging, holding hands, and being openly affectionate."
Earlier in the day, Khloe had taken to her Instagram account to gush about her "baby boy" French and recall the "timeless memories" they have created.
Posting a picture of herself and French on a beach in partial silhouette, she wrote added the caption: "Happy birthday baby boy! In only a short amount of time we have created timeless memories,
"Happy birthday to a man who genuinely lives life to its fullest. 'What's understood doesn't need to be explained' @frenchmontana I can't wait to celebrate life with you tonight! You deserve it!! (sic)".
However, it is thought the relationship has come too soon for Khloe following her split from Lamar last year, and she sparked speculation she still holds a torch for the basketball player by appearing to reach out to her estranged husband by posting a heartfelt quote about closure on his birthday last month.
The quote read: "Closure: Like time suspended, a wound unmended - you and I. We had no ending, said no good-bye. For all my life, I'll wonder why."

Kendra Wilkinson earned $500,000 in six months as a stripper before joining Playboy.
The 29-year-old star has confessed she began taking her clothes off for money at just 18-years-old after becoming bored of her jobs as a dental assistant and pizza delivery girl.

Simon Cowell is planning to move back to America.
The music mogul is said to be "open" to returning to Los Angeles with "homesick" girlfriend Lauren Silverman and their nine-month-old son Eric and plans to re-launch 'The X Factor' in the US.
A source said: "Lauren regularly flies to and from the US and UK and she's admitted to Simon she's still homesick for America and wants to move back.
"She says she's struggled to make new friends and misses her old life. She wants them to go back to LA once 'X Factor' is finished.
"Simon is open to the idea. He's frustrated at how 'X Factor' has fared in the UK ratings this year and is contemplating trying to re-launch the show in the US again."
Insiders claim Simon, 55, plans to rework the talent show in a bid to revive it Stateside and boost his own profile.
The source added to Closer magazine: "Simon's keen for a new concept for the American version. It will be much more about bands and older acts rather than younger novelty singers.
"Lauren is behind him and would love to be based in the US with him.
"He's already in informal talks to make a pilot of the show in the States and get the whole idea up and running.
"He wants to blow America away and get back his crown as the King of Entertainment.
"Lauren thinks Eric can still have the best of both worlds if they have a main base in LA and pop back to London when they need to."
