Bette Midler thinks Beyonce Knowles is "beyond human."
The 'Wind Beneath My Wings' singer - who recently slammed Ariana Grande for having a "silly high voice" and for wearing scantily-clad attire in her music videos - says she is a huge fan of the 33-year-old singer and loves listening to her albums.
Asked what kind of music she listens to, she said: "I like Taylor Swift, and I adore Beyoncé - she's beyond human, and strong, and a real athlete."
Despite recently criticising Ariana's voice, the 69-year-old star insisted she wouldn't ever "disparage" anyone's musical ability.
She added to Harper's Bazaar magazine: "I don't think any music is better than other music. As long as it's an expression of who you are and what you're going through, it's valid - and I don't denigrate anybody's effort."
Bette recently apologised to the 22-year-old singer after she branded the brunette beauty's music videos "silly beyond belief" and poked fun at her voice.
The 'Love Me Harder' singer was left feeling shocked by the icon's comments, but wrote on Twitter: "Bette was always a feminist who stood for women being able to do whatever the F they wanted without judgement! Not sure where that Bette went but I want that sexy mermaid back!!! always a fan no matter what my love (sic)"

Sir Paul McCartney recreated The Beatles 'Abbey Road' album cover while dressed as a werewolf.
The 72-year-old musician passed by the world famous recording studio in London while returning home after a Halloween party in October and couldn't resist asking his wife Nancy Shevell to photograph him stood on the pedestrian crossing just like he and the rest of The Fab Four did for their classic 1969 LP.
And Paul boasts his monster mask was "so brilliant it scared a couple" of my grandkids".
In an interview on BBC Radio 2, he revealed: "There's no way you'd know it was me, and coming back from the party, we crossed the crossing and so I said, 'You've gotta stop.'
"So I did a picture of me in this werewolf outfit crossing the zebra crossing. Of course the guy who I was holding up was this taxi driver who was very annoyed with me, and I'm going, 'No, no you've gotta do it.' I'm positioning Nancy and saying, 'You've got to take it from there,' and so Nancy got it and she Instagrammed it to everyone."
Paul still works at Abbey Road Studios and he admits that whenever he goes back to the studio The Beatles made famous he can't help but reminisce about his times there with John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
He said: "For me, I start the tour, and whoever I'm with, I'm saying, 'Well OK now we [The Beatles] came here.' I just start on the stories and I bore everyone stiff every time."

Eddie Redmayne says Stephen Hawking was "incredibly flirtatious" when he visited the set of 'The Theory of Everything'.
The 32-year-old actor portrays the revered physicist in the new biopic and admits he was in awe of the professor's charm and wit when he was introduced to Eddie's co-star Felicity Jones, who plays his ex-wife Jane Wilde in the film.
Speaking in the January issue of Esquire magazine, Eddie said: "It's amazing, the aura he has. You're so used to how he looks - the silhouette and the voice - and I was really nervous. I just waffled - talking about him, to him. It was pretty embarrassing. Felicity came in and they got on like a house on fire. Stephen was incredibly flirtatious. A complete player."
Eddie had to work very hard to be cast as Stephen in the film and admits his initial excitement turned to fear when he realised the size of the task ahead of him.
The British star knew he had a responsibility to accurately portray Stephen's physical difficulties, caused by his motor neuron disease, on screen.
Eddie - who spent hours in a wheelchair on set - revealed: "There's a moment of excitement when you get a part like this, which soon gives way to dread. We knew if we screwed it up we'd be lambasted because Stephen is such an icon.
"I'm not going to lie, it was demanding and pretty intense. But we had fun, too, just as Stephen does. He doesn't live a disease, he lives a forward-thinking, funny life."

Jennifer Aniston had to have sex with Charlie Day when he was in a coma on 'Horrible Bosses 2'.
The 45-year-old actress admitted the erotic footage was tricky to film because the actor - who plays Dale Arbus - could only lie there with her on top, but in the end the scene was deemed too controversial and was cut from the comedy movie.
Speaking on truTV talk show 'Conan', she said: "Charlie Day's character is in a coma, and I exploit him whilst he was in a coma. So it was a sex scene that was sort of ... it was ... they removed it.
"But I bet it will be in those DVD extras or whatever they do.
"Usually you have someone there to support, but he's just laying there in a coma! And I'm like front ways, this way, that way, all by myself."
While that awkward scene was cut from the film, Jennifer still suffered plenty of embarrassment in the movie such as when her character, Dr. Julia Harris, wore a penis ring necklace, and the former 'Friends' star has revealed she in fact chose the jewellery item herself but didn't realise what it was.
She added: "It was one of those things where they had laid out the jewellery and I just gravitated towards that beautiful piece of jewellery, and I put it on and I was like, 'This is unique and cool'.
"I kept trying on other bits of her wardrobe and I just kept it, and they were like, 'Great! You chose the c**k ring!'
"I was like, 'I'm sorry, come again, what?' "
UK viewers can watch Jennifer's interview on 'Conan' at 11pm on Monday (08.12.14), on truTV (freeview channel 68) - the home of larger than life characters in real situations.

She said: "At 17 you want to experiment. I don't think you should put a name on it. Well actually, I don't care if people put a name on it. I didn't. I had fun!
"I had a great five-year relationship with a lovely lady who I still talk to this day, and that's that. I mean, if it happened yesterday I would probably be saying something different. But I've been happily married to my husband for seven years.
"Do I want to spoon with a woman, and snuggle? No. I want to do that with my husband. At 17 I wanted to spoon and snuggle and do everything with a woman... But not right now."
However, the 39-year-old singer admitted she still finds women attractive and is more likely to point out a beautiful girl than her husband is.
She added to Attitude magazine: "I would be the first person to say to my husband, to this day, 'Oh my God look at that woman over there, she's absolutely stunning!'
"I would be way more likely to point out a woman than my husband would be. But that's because I think women are beautiful. Where that puts me - in whatever category - I've no idea."
The former Spice Girl also admitted to having kissed all of her former bandmates - Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell and Mel C - but insists it was "nothing sexual".
She said: "I've kissed all the other Spice Girls. Nothing sexual; I had a tongue fear and I was like, 'Tell me how this feels. Does it feel weird? Does it feel awful?' But that was nothing sexual at all. They were all like, 'Yuck!' "

Rosamund Pike has given birth to a baby boy.
The 35-year-old actress - who already has a two-year-old son Solo with her long term partner Robie Uniacke - welcomed the couple's second child into the world on December 2, representatives for the star have confirmed to Us Weekly.
The blonde beauty is said to have given birth at home and both her and Robie are yet to officially comment on the news.
The 'Gone Girl' star first revealed she was expecting in June this year, months earlier than she announced her first pregnancy which she kept under wraps until she was seven months gone and could no longer hide her bump.
She has always been open about her desire to start a family and as an only child she was keen to have more than one bundle of joy in her brood.
Speaking prior to Solo's birth, Rosamund said: "As an only child, you've never known anything else. But I definitely know that I would like my child to have brothers or sisters. But I haven't got a child yet, not yet obviously."
Rosamund also previously opened up about her decision not to tie the knot with Robie - who has four other children - and insisted it "feels infinitely more right" for the couple to have had a baby outside of marriage.
She said: "You try to do the right thing and the conventional thing, and it doesn't work, and then you're free again.
"It is interesting to break all the rules. I'm not married, I have a baby, and it feels infinitely more right."

Julie Walters is worried that acting is becoming a profession only open to the wealthy.
The 'Paddington' star is concerned that young people in Britain who may be interested in pursuing a thespian career are being put off because they can't afford to put themselves through drama school.
If the trend continues, Walters - who was able to get funding to study drama in the late 60s and honed her craft at the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool, England, in the 70s - thinks the art will ultimately suffer.
In an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: "Now the theatre is dying out, where do kids start out? They have to pay a lot to go to drama school, then hope they get straight into television or film. But working class kids can't afford that. I was lucky - I had a grant. You can't get a grant to go to drama school now. Soon the only actors are going to be privileged kids whose parents can afford to send them to drama school. That's not right. It feels like we are going backwards."
The 64-year-old actress has had an incredible TV and film career which has spanned five decades and seen her win several awards, including two BAFTAs.
And Walters - who is married to Grant Roffey - insists she has no intention of retiring because she still gets offered so many wonderful parts.
She said: "The desire is still there. I don't want to retire ... I did take a year off and I thought, 'You know what, I'm quite happy. Then a script came in and I thought, 'Oh my God, I've got to do this.' "
