George Lucas adds five pieces to art collection

George Lucas has splashed out thousands of dollars on five pieces of art.
The 'Star Wars' creator visited the Chicago studio of artist Hebru Brantley over the weekend and is believed to have blown a huge amount of money on creations by the rising star.
Although the sum of money the 70-year-old filmmaker forked out for the pieces has not been disclosed, it has been revealed he picked out two paintings and three sculptures to add to his multimillion dollar collection, the New York Post's Page Six column reports.
Hebru took to Instagram to admit it was "surreal" having George visit his studio in the Pilsen neighbourhood of the city, because he has always been such a huge fan of his movies.
Accompanying a photo with the star, he wrote: "Guess who stopped by the studio yesterday? I'll give you a hint he's Darth Vaders creator Lol. It was surreal spending time with a man I have grown up idolizing. And now having him be a fan of mine. So glad to now be in the Lucas collection. Hard work paying off. (sic)"
The artist - who has previously sold to Jay Z and Beyonce - is famed for depicting children and iconic characters in socially charged situations, and frequently sells his work for up to $150,000.
Last month, the movie mogul unveiled plans for a $300 million art museum - The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art - in Chicago, designed by Beijing architect Ma Yansong, which is expected to house the works when it opens in 2018.

FKA twigs moves in with Robert Pattinson?

FKA twigs and Robert Pattinson have sparked rumours they have moved in together.
The pair were spotted shopping for furniture together for Rob's new property in Los Angeles over the weekend, with sources suggesting the 'Two Weeks' singer will be living with the 'Twilight' star "for the foreseeable future" as things hot up between the couple.
The loved-up duo - who embarked on their relationship in August - visited numerous stores around Los Angeles over the weekend to furnish the 28-year-old's house in the hills, visiting the Rose Bowl Flea Market and JF Chen's antique furniture store to peruse the options available to give the pad a vintage feel.
A source told E! News the couple are "serious" about each other following their three-month whirlwind romance, with the 26-year-old singer planning on staying at the actor's abode until she visits Tokyo on January 22 to continue her tour.
Despite being keen to avoid the spotlight, the musician recently revealed her relationship is worth the increased media attention.
Speaking about dealing with paparazzi, FKA twigs - whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett - said: "I look uncomfortable because I am uncomfortable,
"But then it's like, is this person in my life worth that? And he is, without question.
"In comparison to how happy I am. And how I feel with him. It's 100 percent worth it."

Rita Ora’s ‘indescribable’ Obama performance

Rita Ora says it was an "indescribable honour" performing for the Obamas.
The 24-year-old star took to the stage at the 33rd annual Christmas in Washington concert on Sunday (14.12.14) at the National Building Museum to sing Band Aid song 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' in front of US President Barack Obama, his wife Michelle, and daughters, Malia, 16, and Sasha, 13.
Following the event, Rita took to her Instagram account to post several pictures including one taken from Michelle's social networking site which sees her on-stage alongside the Obama family.
She captioned the message: "Indescribable honour @michelleobama (sic)"
The blonde beauty also posted a picture of herself in a stunning black Dita Von Teese-inspired Ralph and Russo Couture dress ahead of her performance and admitted she was feeling very nervous.
She wrote on Instagram: "Ok I can't help it little sneak peak of my face before walking on the Obama stage. My legs were like jelly!! Thank you Audrey Hepburn for the inspiration!!#breakfastattiffs (sic)"

She wrote on Instagram: "@ralphandrusso thank you for helping me create this moment. And Bob Geldof for letting me perform do they know it's Christmas to spread the word over seas in front of such influential people. We can make a difference together (sic)"
But Rita wasn't the only star to shine on the night as Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson also took to the stage to perform Christmas song 'Deck the Halls' - a nod to his former wrestling career - and Christina Perri sang 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas'.
Earth, Wind and Fire, Aloe Blacc, Hunter Hayes and Darius Rucker also sang at the spectacle, and all of the performers got together at the end of the concert - a benefit event for paediatric care provider the Children's National Health System - to sing 'O Come, All Ye Faithful' and 'The First Noel'.

Taylor-Ann Hasselhoff’s ‘big kid’ dad David

Taylor-Ann Hasselhoff thinks her dad David is just a "kid in a big guy's body".
The 24-year-old daughter of the former 'Baywatch' star says her father is her "best friend" and he has taught her "a lot about self-respect" because he is always happy to stop to sign autographs for his fans and have pictures taken with them.
She said: "He's such an awesome person and really is my best friend. He's so grateful to every single fan who asks for an autograph - every person who asks he'll take pictures with and talk to.
"It took us so long to get through Piccadilly Circus because he's so friendly to everyone who comes up to him.
"He teaches me a lot about self-respect and respecting others - he really is just a kid in a big guy's body."
Taylor-Ann also loves watching the 62-year-old star - who also has daughter Hayley Hasselhoff, 22, with his ex-wife Pamela Bach - appear in pantomime in Britain, where she spends Christmas every year, and she also enjoys being in the UK because she gets to wear her coats.
She added to Metro newspaper: "I get to see a lot of the UK with my dad's panto work and I love it.
"You guys have great Christmas markets and I love getting to wear my coats.
"Ever year, it's somewhere different - Nottingham, Manchester and now it's Southend.
"I loved Nottingham - we had a little apartment and that town was so cute and so much fun.
"I love going to new places. I have no idea where they are but I love arriving and exploring. "

Oprah Winfrey wanted own church

Oprah Winfrey always wanted her own church.
The 60-year-old talk show host "idolised" pastor and civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. when she was younger and admits moving into television was the closest career path she could find to emulating his leadership.
She said: "I was so enthralled by Dr. King. I wanted to be Dr. King. I wanted to grow up and have my own church, run my own congregation and be my own order and lead the people. I didn't exactly do that, but my television show was a way of doing that.
"He was an enormous influence on me. Mrs. King was a personal friend of mine until she died. I have a great respect for the legacy of what he left for all of us."
However, Oprah insists she hasn't achieved anything that compares to the humanitarian - who was assassinated in 1968 - and thinks his endeavours were unique.
Speaking at the premiere of 'Selma' - a historical drama about Dr. King which she has a supporting role in and helped finance - she told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "In every generation there comes along a person like Dr. King who has the ability to garner the hearts and the spirits of a nation, to help people to see in themselves what they could not possibly believe could be true.
"In my life, I do work to help people from all different backgrounds and I joined this project to help [director] Ava DuVernay and [star] David Oyelowo. I wanted to see them succeed."

Peter Andre and Emily to wait for wedding before more kids

Peter Andre and Emily MacDonagh won't have more children until they're married.
The 'Mysterious Girl' hitmaker and his 23-year-old medical student fiancee have revealed they don't want to have another baby until they've tied the knot as Emily regrets not being married before she had their first child, 11-month-old Amelia.
Quizzed on what they'd do if they fell pregnant now with a wedding planned for next summer, Emily said: "We'll try not to, I definitely don't want any more babies until we're married, because we should have been married the first time around."
However, Emily insists she also wants to have completed her studies and be qualified before she walks down the aisle with 41-year-old Peter, who was previously married to Katie Price.
She explained: "I want to marry Pete next summer before I start work, which doesn't leave much time to plan."
Meanwhile, they are looking forward to their baby daughter's first Christmas, although they'll be spending it without Peter's two children - Junior, nine, and Princess, seven - from his marriage to Katie.
Peter told OK! magazine: "She'll [Amelia] be so excited by the lights and wrapping paper - she loves chewing paper! We're going to make Amelia's first Christmas extra special."
When asked if he'll be sad to not have Princess and Junior there, he added: "Of course, but I'm fine with it, I have one year on, one year off, so I'll have them next year. Of course we want to be with them, but when you do have them, you make the time you have with your kids amazing."
Peter and Emily will spend New Year's Eve (31.12.14) with Amelia, Princess and Junior, and celebrate Christmas again as a family then, although Emily is already planning to go to bed just after midnight so she's not too tired when Amelia wakes up early the next day.

Kate Upton serenades Jamie Foxx

Kate Upton serenaded Jamie Foxx with a rendition of 'Happy Birthday' on Saturday night (13.12.14).
The 22-year-old beauty channelled her inner Marilyn Monroe - who famously sang 'Happy Birthday, Mr. President ' to then-US President John F. Kennedy in May 1962 - by performing a sexy version of the tune as the 'Django Unchained' star turned 47 at Avenue in New York City.
According to the New York Post's Page Six column, Jamie spotted Kate and her boyfriend, professional baseball pitcher Justin Verlander, in the nightclub and "told the DJ to turn off the music to announce their arrival".
A source told the publication the star didn't hestitate in picking up the microphone to blast out the tune for Jamie's birthday and she also "asked the crowd to help sing along".

Earlier in the evening, the Hollywood star also celebrated his birthday with his 'Anne' co-star Quvenzhané Wallis and his family and friends at plush restaurant Bodega Negra.

Victoria Beckham buys David a neon heart

Victoria Beckham has bought her husband a neon heart created by renowned artist Tracey Emin.
The 40-year-old fashion designer bought the artwork, entitled 'For You', from the White Cube gallery on Bermondsey Street, London.
The former Spice Girl - who was accompanied by her children Brooklyn,15, Romeo, 12, Cruz, nine, and three-year-old Harper Seven - spent 40 minutes looking at various pieces of work before opting for the neon heart, which features the words I Felt You And I Knew You Loved Me written inside it.
Victoria was given the idea to buy the piece by former popstar Louise Redknapp and her husband, ex-England footballer Jamie Redknapp, who also own a neon heart, according to The Sun newspaper.
Meanwhile, it was claimed earlier this week that David, 39, is keen to have another child.
However, Victoria is said to be concerned that her age could affect their chances of falling pregnant and even lead to complications.
A source revealed: "She worries about the risks with her age but David's very keen."
The Beckhams are currently preparing for the Christmas holidays, which they will spend with TV chef Gordon Ramsay and his family.
They will join Gordon and his wife Tana and their four children - Mathilda, Megan, Holly and Jack - at his home in south west London.
