Emily Blunt thinks parenting is a "fear-based industry".
The 'Into The Woods' actress - who has nine-month-old daughter, Hazel, with husband John Krasinski - doesn't want to read any literature on how to bring up her child.
She told Edit magazine: " [Raising children] is such a fear-based industry. There used to be one book that everyone read, now there's How to Raise a Gluten-free Baby, How to Raise a Scientific Baby ... It's insanity!
"So I haven't read anything, I'm just letting her do her own thing."
Meanwhile, the 31-year-old actress recently revealed how becoming a mum was like 'heaven' for her.
She said: "It is that and more. I know that everybody says that. Everybody says, 'Oh it's the best - it's the best thing ever!'
"You don't know what to expect because it's just completely, existentially out of anything that you've ever experienced before, and it's quite indescribable."
Emily also admitted that she loves to sing the "old standards" to her little one.
She said: "I like to sing old standards to my baby daughter.
"Some of my favourites for Hazel include songs by Ella Fitzgerald and Otis Redding. She seems to like them."
And it's not only little Hazel that is a fan of her musical repertoire, her 35-year-old husband - whom she married in July 2010 - also loves to hear her sing.
She added: "I think John likes to hear me sing songs to Hazel. He has to like them!
"It is just wonderful being a parent."

Example is a father.
The 'Changed The Way You Kiss Me' hitmaker's wife, Erin McNaught, gave birth to a little boy, the couple's first child together.
He took to Twitter to share the news, writing: "Our son Evander Maxwell Gleave was born at 2.06am 21.12.14 (Australia time). Mother and child are both gorgeous (sic)"
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old singer previously revealed that he wanted rapper friend, Professor Green, to be the baby's godfather.
He said previously: "I'd love him to be the godfather. He does live far away but that could work."
The 'Lullaby' hitmaker was happy to take up the offer, adding: "I could do that. It must be amazing, I can't wait ... No I can wait - I don't want that to be a headline but to have a baby - that must be amazing."
Previously, Example - real name: Elliot John Gleave - revealed he would be travelling to Australia so his wife can have their child in her home country, surrounded by her family and friends.
Before the birth, Erin sparked rumours that the pair were expecting a baby boy when she posted a picture of lots of blue baby clothes.
However, she quickly dispelled the rumours, writing: "Got a leeeeedle bit excited in the BONDS store yesterday... And no, we don't know if we're having a boy! If we have a girl she's going to be in this stuff too. [sic]"

Kourtney Kardashian thought Scott Disick was "annoying" when she first met him.
The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star - who has just welcomed her third child with the 31-year-old television personality - admitted that it definitely wasn't love at first sight for either of them when they started dating in 2006.
Reminiscing about the early days of their relationship in an upcoming episode of 'Kourtney & Khloe Take the Hamptons', she revealed: "I just thought he was so annoying. He was four years younger, he lived in New York."
Later in the show, Scott - who has Mason, 5, Penelope 2 and a one week old newborn with the 35-year-old television personality - opened up about how their earlier discussion made him "appreciate" things more.
He said: "It's so surprising to be with people, talking about life ... it really gets you appreciating more things than you could have ever imagined.
"I want to stay positive, I want to stay excited about life, and I want to take a step back and really appreciate things more."
Meanwhile, a source recently revealed that Kourtney had "no help" from Scott during her pregnancy.
The insider explained: "She said she was more than ready for this birth to be over with and that this has been the most exhausting one because she's had two children to take care of while pregnant this time and Scott is of no help!
"She was uncomfortable, her ankles were swollen...she just wanted it to be over!"

Robert Pattinson is "in heaven" with FKA twigs.
The 'Remember Me' actor - who has been dating the 26-year-old for three months - is reportedly really enjoying the intimate side of the couple's relationship.
A source revealed to HollywoodLife.com: "Rob says he is having the best sex of his life. Apparently, she's very flexible and very uninhibited.
"He's in heaven. He's just fully in lust with her. He can't keep his hands off her. He even makes out with her in public, which is not usually his style. It was never that way with Kristen [Stewart; his ex-girlfriend], but this girl is loosening him up."
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old actor's friends are believed to be "bracing themselves" for an engagement announcement.
Another source revealed: "Robert has been looking at rings although an actual wedding is a long way off.
"He knows things are moving fast, but he wants to show his commitment. Everyone is bracing themselves."
The 'Twilight' star is expected to visit the 'Two Weeks' hitmaker - real name: Tahliah Debrett Barnett - at her family home over the festive period.
The source added: "Rob will be visiting Tahliah and her mum in Gloucestershire over Christmas.
"He's on a charm offensive as he really sees this relationship going the distance."

Kris Jenner will spend Christmas with her ex-husband.
The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star - who finalised her divorce with Bruce Jenner on Thursday (18.12.14) - will celebrate the holiday season with the 65-year-old former athlete, insisting they're "still family".
She said: "Things are really good. I mean, it's kind of surprising, and we work together, and we talk all the time and he'll be there on Christmas. We're still family."
Kris also dispelled rumours that she would be changing her surname, admitting that it would be "weird" because the couple's daughters, Kendall, 19 and Kylie, 17, have the same name.
The 59-year-old television personality told E! News: "I have two kids with the last name Jenner, so I think that would be weird.
"Like, 'oh guys, I'm changing it back to Kardashian.' I think I'm just gonna leave it alone for now and enjoy. I'm fine. I'm good."
Meanwhile, reports recently revealed that the split will see Kris pay Bruce $2.5 million to equalise their assets.
The pair are believed to have divided their $60 million fortune in half.
The divorce has been signed off by a judge but will not come into effect and be official until March 23, 2015, because of a six-month legal requirement.

Amber Rose wants to date Chris Brown.
The 31-year-old model - who has previously dated Wiz Khalifa and Kanye West - was rumoured to be getting close to the 'Loyal' hitmaker after she was spotted dancing with him at a nightclub in Los Angeles yesterday (19.12.14).
A source revealed: "Amber's a freak, and the way she looked at Chris made it seem like she wanted something more than a little innocent dance.
"She's a man eater and was making a statement to Chris last night. I'm just not so sure he understood."
The 25-year-old singer recently split from Karrueche Tran and reportedly wants her back, with sources revealing that Amber isn't the least bit intimidated by his feelings for his ex-girlfriend.
The source explained: "Amber doesn't care about Karrueche. She knows she's hot and she believes she can get any guy out there, including Chris Brown.
"If Chris gave her the right look, she'd be all on it. She's loyal to herself, the man she's with, and his money. She wants a man's money and she's well aware of how Chris spoiled Karrueche. Amber wouldn't mind trading places with her."
Meanwhile, an insider previously revealed that Karrueche, 26, should be "worried" about her ex's new-found love interest.
A source told HollywoodLife.com: "It ain't the dudes that need to be worried about Amber, it's their females. That includes Karrueche, too."

Kate Upton "always tries" to be sexy.
The 22-year-old model and actress was named the Sexiest Woman Alive at Thursday (18.12.14) night's People Magazine Awards ceremony and was thrilled with the "amazing" honour.
Speaking after her win, she said: "I'm so excited, I mean it's amazing.
"I always try to be sexy because to me that's confidence and being happy and it's amazing to be awarded for that."
'The Other Woman' star also jokingly apologised to her 18-year-old brother, David, for winning.
She explained to Access Hollywood: "You have to imagine being an 18-year-old boy and your sister being called Sexiest Woman, it must kind of suck, although he never complains."
Meanwhile, Kate - who is also known for her Sports Illustrated swimsuit modelling - revealed that the key to being sexy is to be "confident and happy".
Accepting her award at the ceremony, which was held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, she said: "This is such an honour to me because sexy to me means someone who's confident and happy, and that's the person I always strive to be."
However, Kate won't be celebrating her win with a trip to a nearby bar, after she recently revealed that she dislikes the "cocky and rude" attitude some men have after a few drinks.
She said previously: "Every time I find something really gross I just remove myself from the situation, but anything said after alcohol probably shouldn't be said.
"Everyone gets a false sense of self and you just come across as cocky and rude. I'm not attracted to that."

Kanye West has given Kim Kardashian West three phones.
The 'Stronger' hitmaker is reportedly so concerned about the safety of his wife and their 18-month-old daughter, North, that he asks her to "check in" with him once every hour.
A source revealed to the Daily Star newspaper: "Kim has one phone solely to use to ring and text Kanye. He calls it her 'security' phone.
"One is used purely for work, and the other for her family and two personal trainers."
Meanwhile, the 37-year-old's step-brother, Hal Carmichael, recently revealed that Kanye "controls" the
'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star in order to "protect" her.
He previously said: "Kanye constantly worries about Kim and North because he knows the kidnap risk is high.
"Because of the lifestyle they lead, he has to think about it carefully nowadays.
"Kanye controls Kim, like where she travels and what she does, to protect her. He thinks the more the public see of them, the more at risk they are."
Kanye's "protection" extends out to his daughter, North, with only a few people allowed to look after her.
Hal continued: "Kanye keeps his inner circle tight - with North she'll only be looked after by her grandmother Kris [Jenner] or her aunties.
"They have a nanny as well, but North is kept around family. Kanye does this to protect her."

Khloé Kardashian wants to "force" her brother out of her home.
The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star is reportedly fed up of her younger brother, Rob Kardashian's, "lazy ways" and wants him to move out.
A source revealed: "Khloé is fed up with Rob and his lazy, mooching ways.
"He hasn't made any attempt at getting work, going to therapy, getting help or giving up drugs."
The 27-year-old television personality is believed to have gone weeks at a time without leaving the confines of Khloé's house.
The source added: "He orders food, smokes pot and spends hours watching TV and playing video games. He sleeps all day and stays up all night."
Khloé is even threatening "legal action" after she gave him until December 1st to move out.
According to Star magazine, the source claims that she told her mother, Kris Jenner, that "she'll consider legal action to force him out if he's not gone by January".
The 30-year-old television personality is not the first of the family that Rob has fallen out with.
A spat with his sister, Kim Kardashian West, earlier this year saw him miss her wedding to husband Kanye West.
At the time, a source revealed: "[Kim] thinks he is lazy, and bringing down the family name because of his physical appearance.
"After arriving in Paris, Rob and Kim got into a very heated argument because she thought he was just moping around the hotel."
