Selena Gomez "hates" being known as Justin Bieber's girlfriend.
The 22-year-old singer - who dated the 'As Long As You Love Me' hitmaker on and off for the past three years - is reportedly fed up of people linking her to the 20-year-old pop star.
A source explained: "Hearing that she is with Justin and should be with Justin or shouldn't be with Justin is exhausting.
"She always reads about herself and Google's herself and she hates being known as Justin's girlfriend or not his girlfriend.
"She wants to be known in her eyes and to others as Selena Gomez."
The 'Come And Get It' hitmaker - who is currently enjoying a holiday with models, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid - is struggling with the public split from her ex and is getting support from her family.
A source added to HollywoodLife.com: "During the holidays and New Year's she wants and plans to keep it simple and with the ones she loves and that is family. Family is more important then Justin right now!"
Selena celebrated Christmas with her relatives in her hometown of Dallas, Texas and was initially worried the break up would ruin her festive downtime.
A source said previously: "Selena's planning to be in Texas with her family for Christmas, but she's very worried that she won't be able to enjoy herself because she's so upset over Justin.
"She's having a lot of anxiety. Knowing that Justin is spending all his time with Hailey [Baldwin] is eating her up."

Jessica Alba thinks diets are "boring".
The 'Sin City: A Dame To Kill For' star - who has two children, Honor, six and Haven, three, with Cash Warren - believes that life is "too short" for giving up her favourite foods, admitting that she loves candy.
She said: "I think diets are boring ... Life's too short to deprive yourself.
"I can't get through a meeting without candy."
The 33-year-old actress found exercise "brutal" when she was younger but loves it now because it means she can have some alone time.
She shared: "I didn't appreciate working out when I was in my 20s. It was purely for work, and I hated it so much. It was just brutal.
"Now I enjoy it, because it's 'me' time and a stress-reliever."
Jessica has a home gym - where she does sprints and Pilates as well as attending "competitive" spin classes - admitting that she loves how she feels after having exercised.
She said: "It's fun to mix it up. And I really like to work out with friends. They keep me accountable.
"I like how I feel after a workout."
Despite her intensive exercise regime, Jessica isn't worried about perfection.
She told Natural Health magazine: "I'm a little squishy right now. It's fine. I don't care."

Gary Lightbody misses home.
The Snow Patrol frontman has spent almost 20 years in the US in order to better his career and gain more opportunities for his band, but he insists he will be moving back to Northern Ireland, where he was born, more "permanently" in the near future.
He said: "I do miss home terribly. I will be coming home more permanently at some point, but you have to strike when the iron is hot."
Gary's homesickness became even more obvious to him when he returned back to Bangor in June to celebrate his 38th birthday with his parents Jack and Lynne, but he insists it is necessary to stay away.
He explained: "It's something I wanted to do for a long time, but you have to be in LA to get a lot of work, which is why I've been there. It's nice to celebrate with them and it's Father's Day as well, so it's a double celebration."
However, Gary's aim of moving back home may need to be delayed a little while longer as he recently announced that he and his fellow band mates - Jonny Quinn, Nathan Connolly, Paul Wilson and Johnny McDaid - will release their seventh album next year.
He said previously: "There won't be a Snow Patrol record this year, it will be next year."

The Vamps' Connor Ball is turned off by girls showing too much skin.
The 'Wild Heart' group - which also features Tristan Evans, Brad Simpson and James McVey - admit it takes more to impress them than revealing outfits.
Connor said: "I think if she was showing loads of flesh [it would be a turn off]."
James revealed: "I'm not a fan of short skirts."
Meanwhile, Tristan says he avoids girls who dress "too boring".
He added: "I'm the opposite - I love a girl who's really dressed up."
The heartthrobs have girls mob them everywhere they go and on social media, but they tend to date women who have their own unique style.
Brad said: "A girl in a really nice dress always looks good - maybe worn with a black leather jacket? I like dark clothes myself, anyone that looks a bit different, doing her thing."
Connor added: "Honestly, I just really like girls in jeans and a T-shirt. It's plain but it's cool and natural."
As for their own outfit choices, the band admit they all have days where they struggle to get ready in time for their commitments.
Brad explained: "James is the fussiest and then the longest to get ready is Connor or Tristan. Or me some days, 'cause I try on loads of different stuff."
James said: "Yeah, a bit of everyone - we can all be a bit like that."

Christina Aguilera reportedly called Mickey Mouse an "a**hole".
The 34-year-old star celebrated her birthday at Disney's California Adventure theme park last week and is said to have got into a heated argument with the popular cartoon character.
The 'Genie In A Bottle' hitmaker wanted to have her and her friends' picture taken with Mickey but as he was due a break she was told she would have to wait until he came back, which is when she flew into a rage, gossip site TMZ.com reports.
Christina is said to have called the man dressed in a Mickey Mouse costume an "a**hole" before questioning whether he knew she was famous by saying, "Do you know who I am?"
The blonde beauty's crew is also reported to have begun hurling abuse at the amusement park's employee, resulting in him being taken to a safe zone and the police being phoned.
However, it's claimed that by the time law enforcement arrived, Christina - who, along with actor Ryan Gosling and former pop star couple Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears, was a member of The Mickey Mouse Club as a child - and her pals had already left.
The 'Beautiful' singer failed to recall the incident when posting an image of her and her friends on Instagram, however.
Alongside the snap she wrote: "Fun birthday celebration at the happiest place on earth #disneyland (sic)."

Niall Horan has been given a lifetime membership to his local golf club.
The One Direction singer visited the Mullingar Golf Club in Belvedere in his native Ireland for a round of golf on Saturday (27.12.14) and was presented with a lifelong membership.
Speaking of his excitement, he wrote on Twitter: "Thank you to everyone at mullingar golf club for making me an Honorary life member of the club! What a nice touch ! (sic)"
The 21-year-old heartthrob is a keen sports fan and was thrilled to be recognised by the club where he played golf as a child while at home in Ireland's County Westmeath during the festive season.
He continued: "I've been a member of the club since I was 12/13 and to be awarded with this now is just incredible ! Really much appreciated! (sic)"
Despite having become a global superstar - along with bandmates Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik - since coming third on 'The X Factor' in 2010, Niall appeared shocked to have been recognised by the sporting venue.

Gemma Arterton likes to wear "cheesy" make-up at Christmas.
The 28-year-old screen beauty normally plays it safe with her appearance, but likes to add some "shimmer" to her face when heading out to festive parties.
She said: "I've never worn a strong lip and eye together but I do like special make-up for Christmas. I'm cheesy like that with shimmer."
When it comes to her everyday make-up, Gemma hates anything too heavy that hides her natural complexion.
She said: "I don't like heavy foundations that cover my freckles. I wear Le Teint Touche Eclat because it gives me a luminous glow."
And the 'Quantum of Solace' actress has a go-to make-up look when she has a red carpet event to attend.
She explained: "I tend to choose eyes over lips when it comes to red-carpet make-up. I like this look - it's very dramatic and reminds me of Italian actresses in the 50s and 60s, it's a bit Sophia Loren."

Molly Sims feels "exhausted" by Christmas.
The 'Carrie Diaries' actress, who has son Brooks, two, and is five months pregnant with her second child with husband Scott Stuber, loves the festive period, but admitted she is finding the season tiring.
She said: "The holidays are hard when you're pregnant. You're just exhausted. It's hectic, but I love it."
However, the 41-year-old star has tried to plan ahead this year to avoid unnecessary stress."
She explained: "I'm really particular about my gifts, so I have to go and personally pick them out. I make notes for present ideas throughout the year. I try to get all of my shopping and wrapping done, and then I'm done. I don't want to stress. I want to enjoy the holidays."
Molly is also gearing up to host a number of special gatherings for friends over the next few weeks and doesn't mind putting pressure on them to RSVP.
She said: "It's hectic around the holidays, so you have to send invites out early. I start nudging two weeks out, and then I need to know a week before the event."
And the blonde beauty, who runs her own lifestyle website mollysims.com, is planning to do most of the cooking herself.
She said: "I believe in baking from scratch. I love my mom's red velvet cake. It's so good.
"I always over prepare on food and have more drinks than necessary. If you have drinks and food, your party will always be a success."

Khloe Kardashian is reportedly desperate to finalise her divorce from Lamar Odom.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star split from her basketball star husband last year amid allegations of drug use and infidelity but has been unable to officially end their marriage because he refuses to meet with her.
The 30-year-old beauty has made numerous attempts to contact Lamar, 35, in a bid to schedule a sit down with their lawyers to finalise the terms of their divorce, but he isn't responding to calls from her or her attorney, gossip site TMZ.com reports.
Despite Lamar previously confessing he isn't convinced Khloe will go ahead with the divorce she's reportedly planning to file a default judgement if he continues to avoid meeting with her.
Meanwhile, Khloe has admitted dating rapper French Montana - whom she split from earlier this month - so soon after the breakdown of her marriage was a mistake.
Speaking to her big sister Kourtney Kardashian on last night's (28.12.14) episode of 'Kourtney and Khloe Take The Hamptons', she said: "I jumped into something because I was lonely and destructive. But now I'm like, I just want to be alone ... I gotta grieve, I'm still married."
