Michael Douglas hates ageing

Michael Douglas hates getting older.
The 70-year-old star - who has 36-year-old son Cameron with ex-wife Diandra Luker and 14-year-old son Dylan and 11-year-old daughter Carys with spouse Catherine Zeta-Jones - says he is getting crankier with age, but believes he has finally figured out what is really important in life.
He said: "There is nothing I like about getting older, absolutely nothing. I guess the one thing is that when you're younger you care what other people think. You waste a lot of energy trying to make a good impression on strangers. When you're older, you focus all that energy on the people closest to you, your family.
"I have more time today than I had when I was a dad the first time around. Back then, my career always came first. Today that's different. And I have a lot more patience."
Michael insists he has no regrets about anything that has happened in his life.
He said: "It's important to make mistakes as long as you grow from them."
The 'Wall Street' actor says beating tongue cancer in 2010 has given him a new perspective on life.
He said: "I'm very pragmatic about this stuff. I just wanted to deal with the problem at hand.
"I feel lucky to be around still. When you come out the other side, you feel really alive, with all this new energy. You make up for lost time."

Kate Upton slams drunk guys

Kate Upton doesn't like drunk guys.
The 22-year-old beauty - who is dating baseball star Justin Verlander - dislikes the "cocky and rude" attitude men sometimes have after consuming alcohol so always tries to remove herself from uncomfortable situations.
She said: "Every time I find something really gross I just remove myself from the situation, but anything said after alcohol probably shouldn't be said.
"Everyone gets a false sense of self and you just come across as cocky and rude. I'm not attracted to that."
When her relationships have ended in the past, the 'Other Woman' star believes nothing can help more than a good night out with friends, and she would never date a guy when on the rebound.
She said: "The best way to get over a guy is a good night out with girlfriends. A lot of girls do the rebound thing and jump straight into another relationship, but that's a bad idea as you have two heartbreaks to get over.
"I give myself time to get back to me and to get re-inspired by something in my life."

Freida Pinto praises Jane Fonda

Freida Pinto wishes Jane Fonda was her best friend.
The 'Slumdog Millionaire' star admires the actress-turned-fitness guru's outgoing personality and no-nonsense attitude to stardom.
Quizzed about which of her fellow L'OREAL Paris spokesmodels she is especially close to, Freida enthused: "Jane Fonda! I would love to be her best friend, you know, the kind of friend you can call up at 2am. She's so down-to-earth.
"I remember one day when she was suffering from back ache and was tired, so I volunteered to go and get her agent or manager. She told me that she was travelling alone and that the young female stars of today are way too spoiled."
Freida might never have appeared in a Bollywood movie, but credits her native Indian film industry for fuelling her love of cinema and desire to become an actress.
She recalled: "It happened progressively and of course, it began by watching Bollywood blockbusters. My dad showed my sister and I lots of films from the 80s. Then at university, I discovered the director Satyajit Ray's work.
"My sister started watching films by Wong Kar-wai at home. I was also following a history class where we watched 'Citizen Kane' by Orson Welles, Jean Renoir's films, Alfred Hitchcock ... it was magical."

Katie Holmes’ telepathic connection with sisters

Katie Holmes claims to have a "telepathic" connection to her sisters.
The former 'Dawson's Creek' star has three sisters and one brother and is particularly close to her female siblings and knows they are there whenever she needs them.
She said: "It's important to be supportive and have people you can call at 3am. I have a group of friends I call, and my sisters.
"If I'm thinking about my sister, she will end up calling me, it's weird. Telepathic."
The 36-year-old actress - who has eight-year-old daughter Suri with ex-husband Tom Cruise - is "inspired" by the close relationships between women.
She explained to the new issue of Red magazine: "Women are complicated, in a beautiful way, and they have lots of different roles. I'm inspired by the community of women it takes to help one woman succeed."
Despite her many years in the spotlight, Katie insists she hasn't changed much over the years and never dwells on her feelings.
She said: "I'm not so different than I was at 20. I still buy too many jeans...
"I don't stay stuck on anything too long. I mean, like, any emotion."
While the 'Giver' actress tries not to worry about what people think of her, she admits the rise of social media has made her "avoid" going out much to help retain some control of her image.
She said: "I think that it's a very interesting time for artists right now because of social media and camera phones. I don't think you ever know how you'll be portrayed. Any story can attach itself to your image. I don't pay much attention because I'd spend the whole time worrying. I just don't go out much to avoid it."

Slash’s wife issues ultimatum

Slash's wife has reportedly left him.
The 49-year-old musician has been issued with an ultimatum by spouse Perla Hudson - who unexpectedly flew out to Hawaii at the weekend with their sons London, 12, and 10-year-old Cash - to sort out their problems by the beginning of 2015 or their 13-year marriage is over for good.
The couple have had many arguments during their marriage but one source told website TMZ "this time it's different".
While Perla is confiding in friends that she and Slash - whose real name is Saul Hudson - have separated, she hasn't made any legal moves to officially end their marriage.
This isn't the first time the couple's marriage has hit the rocks.
In 2010, Slash filed for divorce from his wife - who is also his manager and runs all his companies - citing irreconcilable differences and seeking joint custody of their sons.
Though that split was described as "extremely acrimonious", the pair reconciled and the 'Welcome to the Jungle' musician called off the legal proceedings just two months later.
A spokesperson for the rocker has yet to comment on the separation claims.

Charlie Simpson terrified by lion

Charlie Simpson was left terrified by a lion during a trip to Kenya with his wife.
The singer/songwriter's spouse - who he won't publicly name - was raised in the African country and he was very excited when she first suggested they take a safari trip.
However, when night fell the former Busted musician was nervous about the animal's behaviour at night and one roaring beast, that he was unaware was a lion, left him petrified.
He told BANG Showbiz: "My wife's parents are English, but her parents moved over to Kenya about 30 years ago so she was raised in Kenya and came over to Britain when she was 16 to go to school here. She feels more Kenyan than she does English because that's where she grew up.
"I remember one of my first trips there, we were in a tent one night and I kept hearing this strange noise, and turned to my wife and said, 'What is that noise? It sounds like a diesel engine.' She didn't tell me what it was because she knew I'd freak out. I found out the next day that a lion was just four feet from our tent; I was absolutely crapping myself when I heard that!
"She knew what it was but just wouldn't say. It's the most terrifying noise you've ever heard. I was getting ready to run as fast as I could.
"The guards you have with you, you have guys with bows and arrows and stuff and you think, 'God are you really going to be able to take down a lion if one decides to attack?' It's quite an experience.
"As humans I think we feel as though we claim ownership over every part of our world. In the Maasai Mara I felt for the first time in my life that I was a guest in someone's else's kingdom, the animals are running the place and we're not top of the pile."
Despite the experience, Charlie loves the country and he and his wife make an annual trip there.
The musician - who released his second solo LP 'Long Road Home' this year - admits he always feels inspired to write music when he is in Kenya.
He said: "I go to Kenya every year, it's a magical place. When I did my first solo record I went to the coast to write a couple of songs. I find it a really tranquil place to write music."

Rochelle Humes planning new year’s trip

Rochelle Humes wants to go on a mini-break to bring in the new year.
The Saturdays star is hoping she and her husband, former JLS singer Marvin Humes, can organise a trip away so they can enjoy a rest before throwing themselves into work in 2015.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I was thinking the other day what I want to do for New Year. I'd quite like a holiday or a little weekend break. Aston Merrygold, from JLS, bought us a long weekend to Paris and we haven't gone, we haven't had the time and he bought it as a wedding gift - we've been married two-and-a-half years! Maybe we can use that."
Rochelle, 25, and Marvin, 29, got engaged during the festive break of 2011 so Christmastime is always very special to them.
But the pop star makes sure she doesn't forget about her Saturdays bandmates - Frankie Bridge, Una Foden, Mollie King and Vanessa White - during December and they always get together to enjoy the festivities.
She revealed: "We always do Saturdays Christmas drinks. Even though some of us are mums and are busy we still find the time."

Jennifer Lopez crash driver charged

A man has been charged with crashing into Jennifer Lopez's car while drunk.
Robert John Reitz, 53, faces up to six months in prison and a $1,000 fine if convicted of misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and driving at nearly twice the legal blood-alcohol limit following an incident in September, Los Angeles County prosecutors announced yesterday (29.12.14).
The 'Get Right' hitmaker, her twins Max and Emme, six, and friend Leah Remini were travelling down the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California, when they were rear-ended by Reitz, who allegedly smashed into the back of their vehicle and quickly fled the scene.
The pair - who were thought to have been taking the 'American Idol' judge's new Rolls Royce for a spin - were left shaken by the incident and quickly called police to share details of the hit and run.
The authorities soon caught up with the pick-up truck driver a short distance from the crash and arrested him on suspicion of DUI and hit and run.
The 45-year-old singer took to Instagram to vent her frustration following the smash.
She wrote on the picture sharing site yesterday, along with a photo of her and Leah sitting in the new vehicle: "Sitting at a light, Riding high right before some drunk fool rear ended us in my new whip!!! Thank god everyone ok!!! #GRATEFUL #THANKYOUGOD.
"#DontdrinkandDrive!!!! #cursedthatfoolout #theBronxcameout #dontmesswithmycocnuts #mamabear #leahstayedcalm #thatwasweird (sic)".

Dolly Parton doesn’t stick to resolutions

Dolly Parton's new year's resolutions only last "a couple of weeks".
The '9 to 5' hitmaker has stopped making promises to change certain aspects of her behaviour with the turning of the year because she knows she won't stick to them.
She said: "It's always the same thing, I'm gonna exercise more this year, I'm gonna eat better.
"And that lasts for a couple of weeks and then I'm right back where I started. So I don't make 'em cos I always break 'em."
The 68-year-old singer has no intention of retiring anytime soon and thinks the secret to staying fit and healthy enough to continue her career is sleeping in short bursts.
She added: "I like being busy and I get energised by doing everything. This is what I've always wanted to do and creativity is a great energy.
"I only sleep for three hours at a time before I get up and do other stuff. Then I cat nap.
"Wherever I am, whatever I'm doing, I take a quick nap. I think that's one of the reasons I stay more energetic. But I really don't think about my age. If my health holds up, I'll still be doing this at 95 if I live that long."
