Michael Keaton: Catholic school made me who I am

Michael Keaton says his education at a Catholic school shaped the person who he is.
The 63-year-old actor admits he endured tough discipline during his time at school when he was growing up in Pennsylvania, but rather than resent the treatment he believes it made him a moral person.
In an interview with Prestige Hong Kong magazine, Keaton - whose parents were Catholic Christians - said: "I liked going to Catholic school. Not as f***ed up as some people think. My experience was fine. It was classic knuckle-rapping and stand in the corner and corporal punishment. But it was just sort of what it was. I didn't come away scarred for life. It kind of builds who you are. I was an altar boy. I liked being an altar boy. Me and my buddies got to go and serve Mass and go to school. I didn't go to church all the time just 'cause I was an antsy kid. It was a good experience for me. It probably does shape who you are and what you believe in."
Keaton's next film 'Spotlight' focuses on the Boston Globe newspaper's investigation of the Massachusetts Catholic sex abuse scandal.
In the movie, he plays Spotlight team editor Walter 'Robby' Robinson who is charge of the journalistic investigation into the abuse carried out by priests, and Keaton believes his Catholic background helped him in the difficult role.
Discussing the impact his Catholic upbringing had on his approach to the role, he revealed: "It added and subtracted, but mostly added. It just p***es you off. And then you have to say that doesn't do you any good, I've got a job to do here. I'm an actor. And Robby got p***ed off. Everyone got p***ed off.
"I was afraid that every day you go in and you have to deal with this. There are the words, there are the scenes, there are the descriptions. Detailed descriptions. You think, why am I doing this? I'm gonna get so angry and depressed. And actually that's not really what happened. Once again, it was a really good cast - quick on their feet, bright, knowledgeable about a lot of things. I actually enjoyed it."
Keaton stars in 'Spotlight' with Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber and Stanley Tucci.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt marries

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has got married.
The 33-year-old actor tied the knot to his girlfriend Tasha McCauley on December 20 in a private ceremony at their Los Angeles home, PEOPLE magazine has confirmed.
The 'Dark Knight Rises' star prefers to try to keep his love-life as private as possible but he did speak about Tasha, who is the co-founder and CEO of robotics company Fellow Robots, in an interview last year in which he admitted she wasn't in "showbusiness" and didn't want a part of it.
He said: "I have a girlfriend but I tend not to really like to talk about it in public.
"I get up in movies and I play other people, so when the audience is watching me in movies, I don't want them thinking about me and who I'm dating, and blah blah blah.
"I want them to see the character, the story that I'm telling, you know.
"The girl that I'm with, she really doesn't want to be a part of it and you can imagine not wanting to have that kind of scrutiny."
This suits the actor well as he also admitted he has always had a "phobia" of "getting attention from girls for [being famous]".
Last year, while promoting his comedy-drama movie 'Don Jon', Joseph - who is a self-confessed feminist - insisted he considers true love to be a "unique connection" between two people rather than a "riding off into the sunset"-type vision.
He said: "I would say true love means a genuine and unique connection between two unique individuals.
"What I think true love is not, is some shiny trophy that's the same 'riding off into the sunset' image that you can get.
"I don't think ... if you think about true love as something that you're after, that you can have, um, you're missing it."

Alec and Hilaria Badlwin expecting second child

Alec Baldwin's wife is pregnant.
Hilaria Baldwin took to her Instagram page on New Year's Day (01.01.15) to announce she is expecting the couple's second child together by posting a picture of Alec holding their 16-month-old daughter Carmen who is seen touching her mother's baby bump on a beach in front of a beautiful sunset.
The brunette beauty added the caption: "The sun has set on 2014 and on my year of daily#hilariaypd ....2015 is going to be very exciting as we are thrilled to announce we are expecting another little addition to our family! (tadasana)#yogapostureoftheday (sic)"
The news will come as little surprise to fans of the couple - who married in June 2012 - as Alec recently admitted his 30-year-old wife is keen to have another baby in the near future.
When the 56-year-old actor - who also has daughter Ireland, 19, with ex-wife Kim Basinger - was asked if the couple are planning to have any more children, he said: "We'll see. Hilaria definitely thinks we should have one more, but we'll see what happens."
Since the pair had their daughter, Alec has admitted he rarely goes out anymore because he much prefers to stay at home with Hilaria and Carmen.
He said: "I choose to stay home with my wife and daughter. Going out - there's not a whole lot of that anymore."

Jamie Dornan misses daughter

Jamie Dornan worries his daughter "won't recognise" him when he has to spend time away from home for his career.
The 32-year-old actor sometimes has to go a couple of weeks without seeing his 13-month-old girl - his child with wife Amelia Warner - when he is shooting a movie and he sometimes feels as though he has to earn her trust again when he is reunited with the tot.
Speaking in the February issue of ELLE UK magazine, he said: "I've had to be away the last couple of weekends, and I come back and I barely recognise her, and it's awful; she changes so much. And then I have this huge fear that she won't recognise me. The beard helps, but I had to shave it off a couple of times, so she's been shocked for the first few hours. She looks at me like, 'Do I love you? I think I love you.' I have to win back her trust."
Being separated from his family isn't the only drawback of being an actor.
Dornan doesn't enjoy the attention he receives for being famous, but he insists he is preparing himself for the increase in paparazzi following him after erotic thriller 'Fifty Shades of Grey' - in which he plays Christian Grey - is released in February.
He said: "You don't do it (become an actor) to have some guy sitting in a f***ing bush outside your house with a camera. That's not why you do it. I just couldn't do an office job; I don't have that temperament. But yeah, I don't know how you can prepare for it. You can't get in sandbags. Buy loads of hoodies and caps? I'll deal with it when it comes. I feel pretty secure about who I am. It's not my first time at the rodeo."

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini written out of Derek Hough’s autobiography

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has been written out of Derek Hough's autobiography.
The 'Crazy Stupid Love' singer dated the professional dancer following her split from first husband Ashley Cole and he's reportedly still so "devastated" about their break up that he's chosen not to include her in his memoir.
A source revealed: "Derek honestly thought Cheryl was the one when they were together. He doted on her every word and helped her come back emotionally after he split with Ashley."
The 29-year-old star - who has won reality show 'Dancing with the Stars' five times - was thought to be preparing to propose to Cheryl, 31, after nursing her back to health following her contraction of malaria.
The source continued: "He was also at her bedside morning, noon and night when she suffered her malaria scare after their break to Africa."
However, Cheryl - who referred to Derek as her "rock" after meeting him on the set of her music video for her single 'Parachutes' - ended their relationship when she left Los Angeles for good.
According to The Sun newspaper, the insider added: "Cheryl had never been treated like that before and adored Derek. However, in 2011 she called time on their love affair when she moved full time back to England.
"Derek was devastated. He tried to win her back, but they never made it work.
"The scars are still there and we think he couldn't relive the heartache. Derek had kept the relationship a secret in the most part, but sharing his heartache was too much, too."
Cheryl later went on to date American dancer Tre Holloway before tying the knot with French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in a secret ceremony earlier this year.

Angelina Jolie: Marrying Brad Pitt brought ‘extraordinary feeling’

Angelina Jolie says being married to Brad Pitt is an "extraordinary feeling".
The 39-year-old star tied the knot with the 'Fury' actor earlier this year after nearly ten years together and admits the ceremony was so special because it was shared with their children - Maddox, Zahara, Pax, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox.
She shared: "As soon as it was all over, we all just changed clothes and hung out. It was just a very happy time. It wasn't this monumental change - we were just very happy and sure, and it's quite an extraordinary feeling to be so sure. It gives you peace."
The 'Unbroken' director - who was previously married to actors Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton - insists she and Brad, 51, who split from wife Jennifer Aniston after meeting Angelina on the set of their 2005 film 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith', didn't feel pressure on their big day as they were already completely committed to one another.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "What was lovely about it was that we didn't feel there was something missing or we needed to get married.
"We felt so complete, and the commitment to children is one that you cannot walk away from, so we already had that commitment.
"It was really that we wanted to re-commit and commit deeper in a way, and we wanted to celebrate that union with our children."
However, despite claiming marriage wasn't a big deal for them, Angelina admits she and Brad are now even happier than ever.
The brunette beauty added: "And it does feel different when you say, 'My husband', or, 'My wife'. It warms you in a different way and you look at that person a little differently."

Ryan Seacrest wants to date Taylor Swift?

Jenny McCarthy wants Ryan Seacrest to date Taylor Swift.
The 42-year-old reality TV star, who married Donnie Wahlberg during a lavish ceremony near Chicago in August, is eager to set the 40-year-old 'American Idol' host up on a date because he introduced her to her husband and thinks the 'Blank Space' hitmaker, 24, is the "perfect" woman for him.
Asked if she is planning to return the favour and help newly-single Ryan find love, she told E! News: "Now I have to do that, I promise you. I think Taylor Swift would be perfect."
The former 'The View' star is set to co-host 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2015' in New York City tonight (31.12.14) and Taylor is headlining the ABC bash in Times Square.
Ryan playfully locked lips with Miley Cyrus on stage at last year's event, but Jenny believes Taylor is a better fit for the presenter.
She said: "Miley Cyrus, not bad. So Taylor Swift this year, I'm going to make it happen."
Ryan recently ended his relationship with 23-year-old personal trainer and model Shayna Taylor after 18-months of dating.
News of their split came just months after friends predicted the media mogul was preparing to propose.
A source said in July: "Everyone before Shayna bored him. He's moving fast."
Another insider said: "They are so affectionate and sweet together. He's ready to settle down. Shayna came into his life at just the right time."

Jada Pinkett Smith is attracted to Will Smith’s brain

Jada Pinkett Smith gets turned-on when Will Smith challenges her "spiritually and intellectually."
The 43-year-old 'Gotham' actress, who has son Jaden, 16, and daughter Willow, 14, with the former 'Fresh Prince of Bel Air' star, 46, admits she is very attracted to his brain.
She said: "I read a lot of spiritual and self-expansion books. Will and I were just reading 'The Tao of Physics' by Fritjof Capra together and having long discussions about it.
"It's a big turn-on for me in a relationship to be spiritually and intellectually challenged by Will. To me, it's like foreplay! Of course, I enjoy that I have sex in my relationship, but I think this other intellectual aspect is quite unique and something that strongly connects us."
Meanwhile, Jada claims she no longer pushes herself as hard as she used to in the gym because she is getting older.
She told Shape magazine: "My energy levels just aren't the same. My joints, my knees, the amount of weight that I can push versus what I did in my twenties, how long I'm willing to work out. For example, I'm not staying at the gym for two hours anymore. I hit it and quit it...I'm not going to stress my body that way anymore. I can't."

Jordin Sparks treats herself to new car

Jordin Sparks bought herself a Jeep for her 25th birthday.
The 'No Air' hitmaker, who split from Jason Derulo in September after three years of dating, treated herself to the brand new vehicle on December 22, shortly after revealing she was planning to return the BMW that her ex-boyfriend gave her for Christmas in December 2013.
The brunette beauty shared her excitement and a few pictures of her car on Instagram, with the caption: "Interior just got finished! (I bought it on my bday last week!) I've wanted a Jeep ever since my Daddy had one when I was little. Happy Birthday to meee! (sic)"
Jordin admitted in October that she was planning to give Jason back the champagne-coloured sedan he bought her last year, saying: "I haven't really had time to think about it, but yeah, I probably will. He can have it."
The singer was overjoyed when the 'Talk Dirty' hitmaker surprised her with the luxury vehicle and shared a picture of it on Instagram at the time, with the caption: "I still can't believe it! He surprised me on Christmas but I wanted to make sure I wasn't dreaming before I posted it! ha! Thank you so much @jasonderulo! I love you baby! Omg omg omg (sic)."
While she has moved on with a new car, Jordin recently confessed she still isn't ready to start dating again.
She said: "I'm pretty much dating myself, who am I kidding?! I'm not ready to deal with all that. I don't have time for distractions or people who are going to waste my time. But I'm in a really good place. Mentally, physically, spiritually - I'm in the best place I've been in years!"
