Emma Stone doesn't think she's Woody Allen's "muse".
The 'Birdman' star has been labelled as the 79-year-old legendary director's inspiration but she insists it is only because she is a woman.
She said: "I don't think he would agree with the muse idea. There were two films in a row where the characters, for whatever reason, he wanted me to play them. He's working with different people now. [This just] gets attached to the women."
The 26-year-old beauty also hit back at claims she is regularly paired with older men in his films.
She added: "[Starring alongside Joaquin Phoenix] was a pretty big draw ... he's a truly brilliant actor.
"Just to speak solely of 'Irrational Man', the relationship is genuinely a plot point. It's pretty openly discussed in the film that this is a student who is falling in love with her professor, and she wants to bring this intelligence and almost toxic energy into her life."
And Emma has admitted her role in 'Aloha', playing a part-Chinese and part-Hawaiian pilot, taught her about how "prevalent whitewashing" is in Hollywood.
She told The Guardian newspaper: "I've learned on a macro level about the insane history of whitewashing in Hollywood and how prevalent the problem truly is."

Demi Lovato isn't afraid to stand up for herself physically if she is disrespected.
The 'Cool for the Summer' hitmaker, who sought treatment in rehab for an eating disorder, self-harming, alcohol and drug abuse in 2010 after she hit a back-up dancer while on a flight to South America, insists she would never attack anyone now, but would defend herself if she felt disrespected.
Speaking to the new issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, she said: "I'm not proud of the mistakes that I've made. At the same time, my past shows what I'm capable of. I'm a wiser person today. On a plane in Colombia, I probably won't hit you. But if you disrespect me, I can't say that I won't come at you. I'll just never throw the first punch any more."
The 22-year-old beauty is also critical of her own gender and believes girls can be very "catty" which is not a good thing.
She said: "I wish I could word this in a way that doesn't sound bitchy, but I don't f**k around. Girls can be catty with one another. Nobody really tries to pill s**t on me because they know I physically don't put up with it."
The brunette beauty admits she thought she was better than a lot of people after first getting sober, but has recently reconnected with a lot of her old friends.
She said: "I used to be judgemental and stuck up when I had a year-and-a-half sober. I recently rekindled friendships with people, because I thought that if you weren't sober then you didn't have your shit together. I thought I was better than you. I'm not longer that judgemental person."

Miley Cyrus is in talks to appear at Glastonbury Festival.
The British festival's organisers Michael and Emily Eavis are reportedly keen on seeing the 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker take the Pyramid Stage alongside Flaming Lips lead singer Wayne Coyne, who she's been working on her album with.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Miley's been on the Eavis radar for a while. She's outrageous and there was interest in previous years, around the time of her Bangerz tour last year and when her godmother Dolly Parton played the Pyramid."
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old singer recently gushed about Wayne, admitting they are "in love" with each other but not in a romantic way.
She said: "He's everything in the world - you can't even define us.
"I am one hundred percent in love with Wayne, and Wayne is in love with me, but it's nothing sexual in any way. That would be the grossest."
The star recently dropped her new LP, 'Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz', inspired by the loss of her pet dog Floyd.
Of returning to the mainstream with that album, she added: "I don't think I'll grow that way. It seems like it would be backwards."

Brooklyn Beckham is keeping his career options "open".
The 16-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham recently revealed he'd passed all of his GCSE exams and although he's played youth soccer for English club Arsenal, Brooklyn is unsure if he wants to follow his father into the world of professional sports.
He told Miss Vogue magazine: "I love football but I'm also very passionate about photography and film.
"I'm keeping my options open right now but I'm hoping to study art and philosophy in the US once I have finished my A-levels."
Brooklyn's remarks come shortly after a report claimed he was eager to pursue a career in the movie business, having been inspired by his dad's cameo role in Guy Ritchie's new film 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E'.
A source explained: "He has recently signed to a modelling agency. It appears he has a lot of potential for a career in the industry.
"He is incredibly photogenic and has the handsome looks to be considered for some high-profile, big-money work. Now he has been encouraged to look into a Hollywood career which he is very excited about. He is yet to sign with an agent though."

Keith Richards thinks Mick Jagger is a "snob" and a "control freak".
The Rolling Stones guitarist has blasted the band's frontman for being "preoccupied" with the boring things and getting "lost" in the nitty gritty details of life.
He said: "I'll reinforce that. His daughter, Georgia May, was sitting around in my room and she said, 'Oh, you know what dad's like.'
"He's such a snob. He can come off that way even to me and the rest of the band. He comes on the plane and doesn't say, 'Hey mate.'
"He's preoccupied with something really boring. He's a control freak. He likes to know everything that's going on. He lost himself a bit in the details."
However, the 71-year-old musician was equally as quick to praise his bandmate.
He added: "He's a hell of a frontman. I still love him dearly. Your friends don't have to be perfect."
Keith also opened up about his past foray with drugs and alcohol, admitting he felt as though people were giving him "license" to live vicariously.
He told the New York Daily News: "I can drag that image around - the Keith with a bottle of bourbon in one hand and a joint in the other. It's a ball and chain.
"At the same time, I take it as a privilege to be taken into people's hearts and minds. I feel like I'm doing all these things that they can't do in a 9 to 5 job.
"In a way they're saying, 'Go ahead, Keith.' They're giving me license ... and I've taken full use of it."
Of pot, he added: "It's just a lift. It gives you a slightly different perception of your surroundings.
"To me, pot is just fun. And I'm glad to see the rest of the country is coming around to my way of seeing things."

Taylor Swift's stage invader has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Christian Ewing, 26, was arrested and charged after being taken down by four of the 'Blank Space' hitmaker's bodyguards when he snuck into her concert at Petco Park in San Diego, California on Saturday night (29.08.15) and jumped up on stage alongside the star.
He was charged with assault with force, battery with serious injury, misdemeanour for giving a false name and a municipal code violation for getting into the concert, and his bail has been set at $100,000.
However, Ewing has denied all charges.
A source told gossip website TMZ.com that the Ewing charged towards the 25-year-old beauty while she was performing 'Style' and attempted to fight off her security in a bid to get closer to her.
Although he was eventually dragged away, one member of Taylor's team is believed to have suffered a broken rib during the incident.
District Attorney Jessica Coto said in court that when asked why he went on stage, he said, "I love that girl".
He is due back in court on September 14.
Ewing is not the first security scare for Taylor, the 'Bad Blood' hitmaker has been forced to secure restraining orders against a number of stalkers in the past.
Timothy Sweet, 33, was ordered to stay away from her and her parents, Andrea and Scott, for three years in March 2014 after he sent her dozens of emails, letters and social media posts declaring his love for her.
He also allegedly threatened to "kill any man," including US Secretary of State John Kerry, who came between him and Taylor, as he believed he and the singer were married.

Rita Ora has praised Miley Cyrus for her nudity.
The 24-year-old singer compared Miley, 22, to Madonna for her penchant for stripping off and promoting the message of being comfortable in your own body.
Rita told The Hollywood Reporter: "Miley is the main supporter of that message of being comfortable in your own skin. Madonna started it. Artists who are willing to do it only come along once in a blue moon."
Rita is known for her own racy ensembles but revealed she is happier when she is naked and rarely wears clothes when she throws parties at her home.
Asking her entourage, "Guys, when do I ever wear clothes when I'm home and we have a party?" they responded "Never."
And speaking about her own flesh-flashing appearances at her recent concerts, Rita said: "I wasn't naked! My new single is called 'Body on Me,' and it's about your body and feeling comfortable in who you are, so I thought, 'I would wear the same thing at home with my friends, why not do it at my own concert?'"
Meanwhile, Rita revealed she just wants to be comfortable on stage.
She explained: "It's about not having any rules. I've been very adamant on making sure that there is a sense of freedom on my stage, whether it's outfits or being comfortable in your sexuality, whatever. I'm very proud of what I am and who we are as a band and as a team."

Tom Hardy "didn't even think" about playing both gay and straight characters in 'Legend'.
The British actor, who previously admitted to experimenting with men and women when he was younger, plays identical twin gangsters Ronald and Reginald Kray in the new crime thriller and insists he had no problem switching between them.
Speaking at a press conference for 'Legend' in London on Thursday (03.09.15), the 37-year-old star said: "Do you know what I didn't even think about it. I don't think it needs playing, that's that. Ronnie was gay, does that make sense? If I thought about then that would give me pause to think about it, but I just had to get on with doing what I'm doing which is my job."
Tom, who also attended the film's world premiere with his cast mates on Thursday night, thinks actors often over-think roles and prefers to take a more organic approach.
He explained: "I think if you start playing anything then I think you start to miss the point of what it is you're supposed to do. I think what was complicated is that we don't know if Reggie was gay as well or not, that's questionable. So that's where I had to look at 'Legend' as its own separate entity and within this entity Reggie's heterosexual, Ronnie's gay let's get on with it . Does that make sense?"
The new movie is based on the book 'The Profession of Violence: The Rise and Fall of the Kray Twins' by John Pearson and Tom first became a fan at as a teenager.
He said: "I think as a kid you see the books on the true crime section and get interested, well I did anyway. I had a brief interest in true crime at about 15, you go on holiday and grab a book, so that's when they came across my horizon. I think they're about as familiar as a red telephone box (in Britain).
"Playing them was a case of going back and looking at all the source material available and there is a lot of source material available."
