Shaughna Phillips was too much like a ‘mum’ to Callum Jones

‘Love Island’s Callum Jones dumped Shaughna Phillips because she was "more like his mum" than a girlfriend.
The 23-year-old scaffolder chose to ditch Shaughna after he and the other boys headed to Casa Amor on the ITV2 reality show earlier this week, when he came back to the main villa with Molly Smith on his arm instead.
And now, Jade Affleck – who was one of the new girls in Casa Amor, but wasn’t picked by any of the boys so is no longer on the show – has claimed Callum and Molly, 25, are the "most genuine" couple in the villa, as she slammed Shaughna, also 25, for being "boring".
When asked who she thinks is the most genuine, Jade said: "Molly and Callum, 100 percent. From the get go him and Molly, they just clicked straight away. Shaughna, she’s more like his mum.
"I didn’t think that was going to work anyway – he’d have got bored of that."
Jade says Callum was "so interested" in Molly as soon as he entered Casa Amor, and doesn’t think there was any chance he would stick with Shaughna.
Speaking after her villa exit, Jade added: "On day one he was so interested in Molly. You could see it happening. Him and Shaughna looked so strong didn’t they – obviously not."
Shaughna was left devastated when Callum decided to recouple with Molly and leave the democratic services advisor single, and even threatened to leave the villa, as she didn’t want to watch them get close to each other.
Speaking through tears in the Beach Hut, she said: "I don’t know how I’m gonna be able to be able to be around him and her. I don’t want to."
Shaughna also got the chance to speak to Callum, but played it cool as she refused to cry in front of him.
She told him: "I felt like you were definitely forcing it because you thought I was the safety. I think you would have known there was something missing before you went into Casa Amor, and you would have maybe spoke to me about that, but you never.
"Don’t insult me and try to say you’ve done me a favour. I don’t know how I’m going to live in this villa now with that. How am I not going to feel uncomfortable? This wasn’t just a coupling up for me, I genuinely had feelings for you. You’re with her now, and that’s that. It’s just a bit s**t for me."
And when Callum said he just wants Shaughna to "be happy", she replied: "I thought I was."
