Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg to write Invincible

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are attached to write a movie adaptation of ‘Invincible’.
The 34-year-old Canadian-American actor and the ‘Sausage Party’ director have been brought on board the adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s comic book in order to bring the tale to the big screen for Universal.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rogen and Goldberg will write, direct and produce alongside Kirkman, who is also producing under his Skybound Entertainment with colleagues David Alpert and Bryan and Sean Furst. In addition, James Weaver will also produce under Rogen and Goldberg’s Point Grey.
In a an official statement, ‘Walking Dead’ creator Kirkman said: "For nearly a decade I’ve had to endure the ‘What about Invincible?’ question as fans have watched The Walking Dead grow into the multimedia monstrosity it has become over the years. The answer was always that we were waiting for the right team to partner with. That team has arrived! The esteemed misters Goldberg and Rogen have proven themselves to be top-notch directors with a keen collective eye for stunning visuals after slumming it by writing hit after juggernaut hit."
The popular comic book, first published back in 2003, is on its 133rd issue. It follows the journey of a school boy called Mark Grayson whose father has superhero powers as hero Omni-Man which are then passed on to him so that he can try and save the world.
Ryan Ottley and Cory Walker also helped create the comic, which has gone on to become the second-longest running title after ‘The Walking Dead’.
Kirkman is confident the upcoming film will be a hit, he said: "Invincible’s surprising, edgy, shocking, and oftentimes blood-soaked story couldn’t be in more capable hands. With the team of Rogen, Goldberg and Universal, I’m very confident this will be another superhero movie, in a long line of superhero movies that continues to prove that it’s a viable, thrilling genre that will keep people coming to the cinema for years to come."
Meanwhile Rogen and Goldberg released a joint statement, declaring their commitment to making the project a success. It read: "No matter how much damage it causes our bodies, minds, and our most intimate relationships with those we love, we will not rest until Invincible is as great a movie as it deserves to be."
The project will see Rogen and Goldberg reunite once again – having made their debut as a directing duo back in 2013 when they both worked on ‘This Is the End’ and ‘The Interview’.
They are also co-writing and directing Garth Ennis-Steve Dillon comic ‘The Preacher’ whilst serving as executive producers on the show which returns in June on AMC.
Also in the pipeline is ‘Future Man ‘ – a comedy series for Hulu.
