Olivia Rodrigo teases Daisy Chain Fields return in 2027 as she reflects on emotional festival moments

Olivia Rodrigo has said Daisy Chain Fields will return in 2027 – as she reflects on the message of hope that her debut festival carried with handwritten wishes for a better world.

The 23-year-old pop star was taken aback by the emotional notes left by festival‑goers at the all-female event held at Great Park in Irvine, California on Saturday (29.09.26).

Olivia described the experience as the “greatest joy” of her career, admitting she’s still processing the scale of what unfolded.

She began a lengthy Instagram post: “seeing daisy chain come to fruition yesterday was the greatest joy of my career. riot grrrl mosh pits. friendship bracelets being made on the grass. young girls on their dads shoulders. I am still in a bit of disbelief that it happened and I still feel incapable of properly expressing the gratitude that I feel for every person who believed in this vision and fought so hard to make it a reality. (sic)”

The Good 4 U hitmaker said that once the crowds had gone home, she and her friends wandered the empty grounds trying to take it all in. Their night ended at Yoko Ono’s Wish Tree installation, where fans had tied tags with their hopes for the future.

She continued: “last night after the festival was over and everyone had gone home, my friends and I ran around the grounds and tried to process all that we had just witnessed. we ended our night of frolicking at yoko onos ‘wish tree’ installation at the entrance of the festival. it was the most beautiful artwork (yoko if ur reading this I love you) where festival goers wrote down something they hoped for on a tag and tied it onto a branch of a tree. we read so many of them. some were silly like I hope my dog lives forever or I hope my hair grows longer etc. but by and large almost every tag said the same thing. everyone hoped for the world to be more peaceful, they all hoped that the people they loved were happy, they all hoped to make a difference. (sic)”

Olivia said the wishes made her emotional, adding that they captured exactly why Daisy Chain Fields meant so much to her.

She continued: “the artwork reminded me of how we are all much more alike than we are different. and how deep down, we all just want to help each other and make the world a better place. yesterday, daisy chain felt like just that. a collective hope that things can get better and a reminder of how much we really care about people at the end of the day. (sic)”

Her closing words – “until next yearrrrr (sic)” – confirmed what fans were hoping: Daisy Chain Fields will return in 2027, carrying that same spirit of optimism into its second chapter.

Daisy Chain Fields generated $20 million for organisations supporting women and girls, thanks to a major philanthropic match from Melinda French Gates.

The lineup included Chappell Roan, Doechii, Mitski, Bikini Kill, The Breeders and more.  There were also appearances from Stevie Nicks, Sarah McLachlan, members of KATSEYE, and surprise guest Alanis Morissette.
