Selena Gomez: I’m ‘sensitive’ to Kesha’s record label battle

Selena Gomez is "sensitive" to Kesha’s ongoing battle to be released from her record label.
The ‘Hands To Myself’ hitmaker admits it is "difficult to be a woman in this business" and feels sorry for the ‘Tik Tok’ singer – who is asking to be released from Sony Music after alleging producer Dr. Luke sexually assaulted her – and her predicament.
She said: "I’m very sensitive to that subject. It’s difficult to be a woman in this business, and I don’t wish those situations upon anyone. but I’ve been very fortunate. For years, my life was Disney Channel and I had a wonderful experience. Then, after that, I had my mom with me at all times."
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old singer is already working on her next album and says she is "excited to explore" new avenues.
Speaking on BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw, she added: "I think my label wanted me to start last year! But releasing this record made me feel liberated. I definitely think I’ve found my own lane and I’m excited to explore that.
"I want to fly a few of my writers out and just be on the tour bus with them, writing and creating. It’s funny – I only wrote six songs for Revival but I find it hard to listen to [other people’s] demos now. Now that I’ve been able to tap into that creativity, I’m kind of addicted to it."
