Scott Eastwood’s struggle against famous name

Scott Eastwood insists having a famous father has made his career "harder".

The ‘Fury’ actor – who is the son of movie icon and director Clint Eastwood and former air stewardess Jacelyn Reeves – found it hard to be taken seriously because of his surname when he was beginning his career as people assumed he didn’t need to try for success.

He said: "I had a couple of auditions and things here and there and said, ‘Maybe I’ll give this a shot and see how it works out.’ I lived in LA for eight years, but I was never the cool kid and I ended up moving away because a lot of people didn’t take me seriously as an actor because of my name.

"In some ways it was harder for me than for other actors because there was a lot of, ‘Well he’s Clint Eastwood’s son so yeah, sure he’s successful’. But I’ve been working for 12 years and I’m still around, so that must tell you something."

Scott can next be seen as professional bull rider Luke Collins in ‘The Longest Ride’ and found the only way to prepare for the role was to get real experience.

He told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: "There really is no way to learn how to ride the bull than to, well, ride the bull.

"I happen to know some people who do that, so I went to visit them, took some beer and said, ‘Let’s buck some bulls’."
