Sarah Hyland: I eat plenty of bread!

Sarah Hyland’s critics are worried about her "bread consumption".
The 27-year-old actress has taken to her Instagram story to make light of comments she has received in which people urge her to "eat some bread", saying she’s getting more than enough carbs in her diet, and said complaints about her "bread consumption" should be sent to her boyfriend Wells Adam, as he knows better than anyone "how much bread [she] consumes on a daily basis".
In a video on her story, the ‘Modern Family’ star said: "I’ve been reading some of your DMs and so many of you are like, ‘Girl, you fine but like, eat some bread!’ So I would like to put in a request for anyone who is concerned about my bread consumption to send to Wells Adam, because he is the sole person who knows about how much bread I consume on a daily basis. Thanks! Love you, mean it, Ok bye."
The actress is no stranger to having people criticise her body, and previously lashed out at body shamers after they made comments about the way she looked following complications from her kidney dysplasia – which is where one or both of the kidneys fail to develop properly, and cysts grow instead of normal tissue.
Taking to Twitter in May last year, she wrote: "’Eat a burger,’ ‘your head is bigger than your body and that’s disgusting.’ And you’re right! … No one’s head should be bigger than their body but considering I’ve basically been on bed rest for the past few months, I’ve lost a lot of muscle mass. My circumstances have put me in a place where I’m not in control of what my body looks like. So I strive to be as healthy as possible, as everyone should."
And earlier this year, she revealed she refuses to be body shamed for her naturally thin figure.
She said: "For me it’s just kind of like a natural reaction [to speak out]. And sometimes it gets too much to where I’m like, okay, I really need to make a statement right now because what is happening is not okay. And it happens all the time. People think that because you’re in the public eye you sign up for criticism from random people and strangers. But I’m in this business because I love the craft, and I love the art of it, and I love creating and evoking emotions out of people."
