RuPaul found it challenging deciphering British idioms on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK

RuPaul found it difficult deciphering British idioms on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’.
The 58-year-old drag queen will be joined on the judging panel of the first-ever UK series of the popular show, which begins on BBC Three on October 3, by Michelle Visage, Alan Carr and Graham Norton, and he has admitted that it’s been an interesting experience trying to learn the "lingo" this side of the pond.
He told the BBC: "I’ve worked in the UK for many years and I would say I know the UK drag scene very well.
"It’s going to be interesting for audience around the world to decipher some of the lingo.
"The other day one of the girls said that she had the ‘mouth of a navvy’- I didn’t know what that was.
"But, the British can be very cutting in an intellectual way."
Michelle also agreed there was a bit of a problem understanding difference accents and learning the way Brits greet one another, but she found it "fun".
She said: "There are a lot of things you say differently here – your greetings, colloquialisms.
"Where we would say, ‘Hi how are you’, you say, ‘You alright?’
"That makes us as Americans go, ‘Why do I not look alright?’
"Us Americans would always think something is wrong.
"But then you get someone on with a Geordie accent, or a scouse or someone north, anything and it could be hard on the ear.
"Then you go to Glasgow, deep accents, those are fun things to translate. It is fun – even just a normal sentence is fun!"
The hotly-acitinpated show – which will see 10 drag queens battle it out to be crowned the winner – is set to feature a star-studded selection of guest judges, including Geri Horner, Twiggy, Jade Thirlwall, Maisie Williams, Cheryl, Andrew Garfield and Michaela Coel.
Whilst, the fan-favourite Snatch Game episode, will feature appearances from ballroom dancers AJ and Curtis Pritchard, Lorraine Kelly and Stacey Dooley.
