Prince George on cover of Vanity Fair

Britain's Prince George has landed the cover of Vanity Fair.
The prestigious magazine has featured the young royal on the cover of its August 2014 issue to mark the cherubic youngster's first birthday.
The cover is a fairly recent picture of Prince George in the arms of his mother, Duchess Catherine, while his father, Prince William, appears to dote on him.
A cover feature written by journalist Katie Nicholl, meanwhile, offers a behind-the-scenes insight into Prince George's first 12 months, including how his parents are eager for him to have a "normal life".
A preview of the article states: "They take George to playdates at the homes of friends, among them Kate's old Marlborough friend Alice St. John Webster, who has a baby several months older than George."
Nicholl also claims Prince William and Duchess Catherine, both 32, are already planning on another baby to join the chubby-cheeked tot.
It's claimed, "there are rumours among the couple's friends that they plan to try this summer".
George accompanied his parents on a royal trip to Australia and New Zealand and a senior aide tells the magazine, the prince "didn't really suffer from jet lag -- he settled down very quickly".

Prince Charles to watch Red Arrows

Britain's Prince Charles is to attend this year's Royal International Air Tattoo on Friday (11.07.14).
The 65-year-old royal is among the guests expected to watch the Red Arrows in action at the annual air show at the RAF Fairford base in Gloucestershire, south west England.
Charles will meet members of the Red Arrows, who are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.
A spokesperson for the RIAT said: "HRH The Prince of Wales is to attend the Royal International Air Tattoo on Friday July 11 when the air show will be holding a special Red Arrows' Pit Day.
"The Prince of Wales will meet the pilots and air crew beside their aircraft following the display and after the team have performed a special flypast with aircraft flown by the team leaders from the Patrouille de France, Patrouille Suisse, Frecce Tricolori and Breitling Jet Team to mark their 50th display season.
"The Prince of Wales will also visit the air show's Techno Zone, an interactive area sponsored by Lockheed Martin which brings engineering and technology to life with entertaining, hands' on entertainment. Here he will meet youngsters and members of the Air Cadets."
The RIAT takes place this weekend.

Prince Charles returning to Somerset

Britain's Prince Charles is to return to Somerset to meet with flood victims today (08.07.14).
The 65-year-old royal will visit the flood-hit village of Muchelney, on the Somerset Levels in south west England, five months after his first trip in February, to see how it is recovering, ITV News reports.
Charles will meet with local people and businesses affected by the flooding, which was so bad that the royal had to travel using an emergency boat service and a tractor during his last visit.
The prince will also visit Glastonbury Abbey and Castle Cary train station to see how the tourism has been affected by the floods.
During his first visit to the Muchelney, the royal criticised relief efforts for taking so long to alleviate the effects of the flooding.
He said: "There's nothing like a jolly good disaster to get people to start doing something. The tragedy is that nothing happened for so long."
Charles added that he "feels very sorry for all the people affected by the flooding".

Zara and Mike Tindall love gadgets

Zara and Mike Tindall like splashing out on high-tech gadgets.
Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter and her rugby player husband enjoy state-of-the-art equipment in their house and always make sure they have the latest phones, Mike has revealed.
He told the Sunday Times newspaper: "I like TVs, sound systems, and a nice cinema room where it's all wired in properly. We always upgrade quickly with tablets and smartphones."
While the couple enjoy the finer things in life, Mike, 35, insists family comes first and he is doing his best to ensure a secure financial future for the couple's six-month-old daughter Mia.
Quizzed about his financial priorities, he explained: 'Family, making sure we're all right for the future. We've just had Mia, so school fees come into it, college, a wedding."
The rugby pro admits he's very conscious over his money and has avoided using a credit card until recently.
Mike added: "I am very conscious about money, spending only what I have. That was always the way when I started professional rugby. Then again, if I know the money is there, I like to enjoy myself."

Catherine and William are competitive at tennis

Britain's Prince William and Duchess Catherine are "quite competitive" at tennis.
The royal couple has revealed they try to outdo each other when they play the sport, but the Duchess of Cambridge - who gave birth to adorable Prince George just 12 months ago - admits she's now rusty since becoming a mother.
William and Catherine, both 32, congratulated Serbian tennis pro Novak Djokovic after his victory in the Wimbledon men's final yesterday (06.07.14) and admitted their own love of the sport.
Quizzed by Novak if she's a fan, Catherine said: "Very keen, I'm slightly out of practice since having George."
The brunette beauty then added she and her spouse "have quite a competitive game".
According to HELLO! magazine, Novak, 27, began the conversation with the royals by thanking them for watching his hard-fought tennis match against Roger Federer.
Catherine responded: "How could we leave?"
The pair were among a star-studded audience to watch the final.
They were joined in the royal box by Catherine's parents Michael and Carole Middleton, as well as her sister Pippa Middleton and Pippa's boyfriend Nico Jackson.

Prince Charles unapologetic over ‘awful’ comment

Britain's Prince Charles hasn't apologised for calling a royal correspondent "awful".
Nicholas Witchell, 60, was infamously blasted by the 65-year-old royal in 2005, a week before Charles' wedding to Duchess Camilla, and the BBC reporter admits the royal remains unapologetic.
Nicholas quizzed the Prince of Wales about his impending marriage at a press conference in the Swiss ski resort of Klosters but the question didn't go over well with the royal, who muttered under his breath that he "can't bear that man. I mean, he's so awful".
The royal correspondent told the Independent newspaper: "There has never been an apology, and why should there be? He was probably quite right. You know, awful man.
"You could take the view it was the best thing that happened to me, because it showed that it is our job as BBC journalists to report fairly and accurately, but not to seek approval. We're not there to be liked."
Rather than take offence to the royal, Nicholas has praised Prince Charles' work ethic.
He added: "He works terribly hard. There are all sorts of views about what he does, but it has to be said that he has attempted to make the most of his position as heir to the throne and do positive things. The Prince's Trust. Even the environment, which he's rather obsessed with."

Queen Elizabeth to visit Forth Road Bridge

Britain's Queen Elizabeth will visit the Forth Road Bridge in Queensferry, Scotland today (04.07.14) - 50 years after she opened it.
The 88-year-old monarch, along with her husband Prince Philip, will unveil a plaque at the landmark which will pay tribute to the hard work of the workers who have maintained the bridge over the last five decades.
The plaque will be located near the Forth Estuary Transport Authority (FETA) offices.
FETA's Lesley Hinds told The Edinburgh Reporter newspaper: "It was a young HM The Queen who opened the Forth Road Bridge 50 years ago, so FETA is honoured to welcome Her Majesty back to help mark the Bridge's 50thbirthday.
"Many people have dedicated their entire lives to maintaining and operating the Forth Road Bridge - keeping a vital part of Scotland's infrastructure network in good shape - and I can think of no better way to commemorate the time and effort they have given over the years."
In addition to unveiling the plaque, Queen Elizabeth will meet six of FETA's longest-serving workers and be presented with flowers by young Charlotte Waite, aged eight.
