Rod Stewart cuts mansion price by £1m

Sir Rod Stewart has cut the price of his mansion by £1 million.
The 73-year-old singer has slashed the price tag of the six-bedroom Wood House down to £5.95million, after originally listing the plush pad for £7.5million in July 2016, in a bid to attract new interest.
According to The Sunday Times newspaper, Rod and his wife, Lady Penny Lancaster-Stewart are said to be keen to move closer to where their sons Alistair, 12, and Aiden, six, go to school.
In November 2016, Rod cut the price by £550,000, but his current value would still see him make a huge profit on his initial outlay of £1.2 million on the home in 1986.
Wood House, once owned by Sir Winston Churchill, sits on 25 acres and has a lake, tennis courts, swimming pool, and stables, along with a two-bedroom cottage on the grounds of the estate.
There is also has a full-sized football pitch, on which Newcastle, Liverpool and Celtic have all trained.
Rod previously had planning permission approved to a five-a-side pitch onto Durrington House in Essex, which the couple are currently renovating after purchasing the pad for £4.65 million in 2013.
But he was denied the opportunity to have floodlights installed on the pitch by local council officers.
They said in a report: "The artificial surface is an incongruous addition within the grounds of a mid-18th century house, however, the existing screening provided and hedging trees and the proposal to supplement these with additional native species will minimise views of the pitch and diminish the harm caused to the settings of the buildings."
Rod also owns homes in Palm Beach, Florida, and Los Angeles, California.
