Robson Green says no to cosmetic surgery

Robson Green won’t have cosmetic surgery and thinks that men who have gone under the knife are "fooling no one".
The TV star is now in his 50s but he has vowed to avoid going under the knife for the sake of his career because it is not a good look.
The 53-year-old actor will soon be seen in BBC One series ‘Age Before Beauty’, which explores issues of jealousy, vanity, infidelity, body image and self-obsession and is focused on a family’s struggling beauty salon, but even that didn’t give him any ideas.
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph newspaper, he said: "Some men that shall remain nameless on popular shows on a Saturday night, they look like bits are going to start dropping off … Really? You’re fooling no one."
Green was asked whether he thought Simon Cowell – who was responsible for launching his music career when he released the hit single ‘Unchained Melody’ as one half of Robson & Jerome’ – had undergone some cosmetic surgery, and admitted it was an open secret.
He said: "Really? You surprise me. It doesn’t take an Oxford don to work it out."
Green has won many fans with his Channel 5 show ‘Extreme Fishing’ which shows him travelling the world looking for exotic catches.
Some critics have accused the programme of being cruel, but Green doesn’t accept that there is anything wrong with his favourite hobby.
He said: "I don’t like it when people say I’m cruel. By design we’re meant to eat fish and fish is good for you. Psychiatrists and therapists recommend it for depression, especially the omega-3 oils in mackerel."
