Remember Monday have been writing new music with McFly

Remember Monday have been penning new music with McFly.

The country-pop trio – comprising Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele – are firmly putting their Eurovision flop behind them after coming 19th on song contest earlier this year with What the Hell Just Happened? and refuse to re-watch their performance.

The girls – who first grew to prominence after appearing on The Voice in 2019 – have bounced back since May, and are feeling especially rejuvenated after hitting the studio with Danny Jones and Dougie Poynter from the iconic noughties pop rock group.

Lauren told the Daily Star of the tracks they’ve made with one-half of McFly: “One is fun and silly and the other is again upbeat, so fun. There’s no break-up vibes in the future, I don’t know if we turned a corner. And what is nice is I feel like our music is quite nostalgic to the nineties and noughties at the minute, that’s what we grew up listening to and love that music and is something we wanna lean into more.

“So writing with McFly who were huge in the noughties, and a band we listened to as well, is amazing, they understand that world, that era really well so that’s been really great.”

Holly added: “That’s another relationship where we go, ‘how has this happened? They are so cool’, they are such good guys and they are our friends as well which is wild. If you told us that a year ago we would have laughed at ya!”

Remember Monday would also love to tour with Obviously hitmakers.

Lauren said: “That would be nice I would like that.

“We’ll give them a text! We do think we are the perfect collaboration.”

The girls have just released the song More Than Ever, which was co-written with I’ll Be Waiting hitmaker Cian Ducrot.

Lauren said of the Irish singer-songwriter: “We have been in a few sessions with him and his brain is absolutely incredible, such a good musician and writer and we’ve become really good friends now which is really lovely.”

Holly added that they would love to work with Cian again, when he’s not “busy” being a “Grammy winning superstar”.
