Prince William could attend FA Cup final after Harry’s wedding

Prince William could attend the FA Cup final after watching his brother Prince Harry get married.
The 35-year-old royal heads to the showpiece event every year in his role as President of the Football Association, which sees him hand out the trophy to the winners, but his attendance is in doubt next year after Harry and fiancee Meghan Markle booked their wedding for the same date, May 19.
According to the Daily Telegraph newspaper, Kensington Palace aides are said to be working with the FA to see if William – a big supporter of English football giants Aston Villa – can be at both events.
The football match is due to kick off at 5.30pm, and while the timings for Harry and Meghan’s big day are yet to have been revealed, their nuptials are expected to start earlier in the day.
A Kensington Palace spokesman said: "We have not gone into the timing of the wedding but made it clear that the wedding and the FA Cup final will not clash."
One timing talked about as a potential for the 33-year-old royal and his 36-year-old bride-to-be’s nuptials is noon.
A Palace source told The Sun newspaper: "They were looking for a date that would work for as many friends and family as possible.
"We can’t confirm timings yet but are mindful it is Cup final day."
The FA have admitted they are looking forward to the "special" day.
They said in a statement: "Everyone at The FA is delighted for HRH Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with the announcement of their wedding at Windsor Castle next year.
"Saturday 19 May promises to be a wonderful day with such a special royal occasion being followed by English football’s showpiece event, the Emirates FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium.
"With millions coming together to watch both events at home and around the world, it will be a day to celebrate."
