Prince George’s transport obsession

Prince George is "obsessed" with transport.
The three-year-old royal missed out on a visit to the Kitsilano Coast Guard Station with his parents Prince William and Duchess Catherine on the second day of their tour of Canada as he and his sister Princess Charlotte, 16 months, remained at their temporary home in Victoria, and his father felt the youngster would have been particularly taken by the fire service’s new truck.
William told Sophie Trudeau, the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau: "My son George would be obsessed with that."
Though George and Charlotte missed out on the visit, they were sent gifts by the Vancouver Police Department, with the prince getting a toy police car and his sister a fluffy police dog named Spike.
Delighted William said: "They’ll be playing with these all afternoon."
When the family arrived in Canada after a nine-hour flight, Catherine insisted the kids had been too excited to find the long journey stressful.
She said: "[The children were] super excited about the fact they were going to sleep on a plane."
As well as his passion for transport, George also enjoys cooking with his mother – but always makes a mess.
On an official visit to charity Youthscape last month, the duchess watched teenagers made chocolate rice crispy cakes and asked: "So, what are you making? This smells seriously good. What are you putting in? Is this just chocolate? Golden syrup? Good, good."
She then told them: "When I try to do this with George at home, chocolate and the golden syrup goes everywhere. He makes so much mess. It’s chaos."
The couple later visited with CHUMS, a bereavement counseling service for young adults in Bedfordshire, and Keech hospice, where she chatted with a fellow parent about George’s favourite foods.
Suzanne Dow, who has a child suffering from a life-threatening illness, revealed: "She said, ‘George likes his spaghetti as well, he’d love to get messy."
