Prince Charles writes book on climate change

Prince Charles has written a book on climate change.
The 68-year-old royal has teamed up with Ladybird books – who typically produce books aimed at children but have recently found success in a number of humorously titled books aimed at adults – to pen the piece which takes on the challenges and possible solutions to the issue of climate change.
Tony Juniper – a former Friends of the Earth director – helped the Prince write the book along with Cambridge University climate scientist Emily Shuckburgh.
Tony told the Mail on Sunday of the book: "His Royal Highness, Emily and I had to work very hard to make sure that each word did its job, while at the same time working with the pictures to deliver the points we needed to make.
"I hope we’ve managed to paint a vivid picture, and like those iconic titles from the 60s and 70s, created a title that will stand the test of time."
Meanwhile Rowland White, a publishing director with Penguin, which produces Ladybird books, said it was Clarence House who approached the publishers with the idea, and said the "coincidence" came at just the right time.
He said: "It was a coincidence where we were thinking about a new series for adults after the huge success of the spoof books, but this time wanted some factual books by experts on science, history and arts subjects.
"So the call and the idea from Clarence House was the catalyst for the new series."
The 48-page book – named ‘The Ladybird Book on Climate Change’ – is expected to be released later this month as part of a new series of Ladybird books for adults entitled ‘The Ladybird Expert’.
