Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla to visit Asia

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla will visit Singapore, Malaysia and India at the end of the month.
The 68-year-old royal will be joined by his wife as they visit three Asian countries at the end of October to undertake almost 50 engagements across the 10 days.
Mr. Scott Furssedonn-Wood, Deputy Private Secretary for The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, said in a statement: "The visit will highlight shared priorities such as celebrating community, championing cultural diversity and business innovation. There will also be a particular focus on education and youth opportunity; and on sustainability and conservation.
"Clarence House has worked closely with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, the British High Commissions in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and New Delhi, and with the host governments in each country, to design a programme that demonstrates the strength and significance of these relationships, and which reflect Their Royal Highnesses’ deep personal interest and expertise on a range of issues."
The royal couple will begin their tour in Singapore on October 31, where they will meet with leaders from Singapore’s ten national religions to hear how the communities work together as one. They will also meet with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and the Duchess of Cornwall will head to a school to meet young people hoping to enter The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition.
On November 3, they will travel to Malaysia’s capital of Kuala Lumpur to meet with dignitaries before heading to the State of Sarawak on the Island of Borneo and the state of Penang and its historic capital of Georgetown.
Their Royal Highnesses will conclude their Asian tour in India on November 8, where they will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and "undertake a number of engagements to underscore the strength and vitality of the UK-India relationship and the rich exchange of ideas between the two countries".
