Poldark to return to screens in June

‘Poldark’ will return to television screens in two months’ time.
The second installment of the the popular drama, based on the novels of Winston Graham, only wrapped up in the autumn last year but bosses have wasted no time shooting the third installment as the next batch of episodes will drop in June.
A representative for the show told the Radio Times Online: "The earlier filming schedule on this series means that we can bring the much anticipated third series back sooner for fans to Sunday nights in June."
Although the BBC show’s debut pulled in an impressive amount of viewers, the second installment didn’t do so well because it went up against ITV’s ‘Victoria’.
Earlier this year, Eleanor Tomlinson – who plays Ross Poldark’s (Aidan Turner) wife Demelza in the drama series – said it was a "real shame" the two shows clashed.
She said at the time: "I think it’s a real shame that they came out at the same time. It doesn’t make any sense to me! I think it did split the audience. At the end we were equal and that’s really good. I think ‘Poldark’ pulled through."
The BBC confirmed at the end of last year that Aidan Turner – who portrays troubled protagonist Ross Poldark in the drama – will return for the third series.
It’s not yet known if any more series are in the pipeline as of yet but the 33-year-old actor previously revealed he would love to bring to life all 12 novels Winston penned from 1945 until 2002 to the small screen.
He said at the time: "It’s about six seasons’ worth! I’m up for six, if we make it that far."
