Phillip Schofield backs Dancing on Ice ending

Phillip Schofield thinks it’s the "best time" for ‘Dancing on Ice’ to end.

The 51-year-old presenter – who fronts the ITV show with Christine Bleakley – is sad to see the skating competition end after nine years this weekend, but is glad to end on a high.

He told new! magazine: "I’m enormously proud of the programme – it’s a beautifully made show – but it’s the best time to go, while it’s still on top. I’ve really enjoyed presenting it so much."

Phillip says the standard of competition on the final all-stars series of ‘Dancing on Ice’ is higher than ever and he can’t quite predict who will win on Sunday (09.03.14).

He explained: "They’re all brilliant but Ray Quinn is getting better and better. Hayley Tamaddon has been great and Beth Tweddle is a very talented skater. They are all turning in great routines. But let’s not forget, it’s a public vote."

The silver-haired fox also shared his favourite moment from ‘Dancing on Ice’, admitting he couldn’t contain his laughter when former ‘EastEnders’ actor Todd Carty faced some technical difficulty in 2009.

He recalled: "One of the funniest times was when Todd Carty disappeared out of the rink. We all loved that. And the quality of skating in this final series has been extraordinary."
