Pharrell Williams wants to reunite Gallagher brothers

Pharrell Williams wants to reunite the Gallagher brothers for a collaboration.

The ‘Happy’ chart-topper says his dream duet would be with warring Oasis bandmates Liam and Noel Gallagher, who haven’t spoken since a backstage punch-up at a French festival in 2009.

The fight put an end to the Brit pop band, with Noel founding rock group Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Liam fronting Beady Eye, but Pharrell is still hoping for a reconciliation.

Pharrell told BBC Newsbeat: "Who wouldn’t want to work with the Gallaghers? Yeah, both of them."

The hip-hop star also revealed he would love to work with musical greats Sir Elton John and Stevie Wonder, who have been long-time inspirations for him.

Pharrell named his five-year-old son Rocket, with wife Helen Lasichanh , after Elton’s 1972 track ‘Rocket Man’ and recently performed with Stevie, Daft Punk and Nile Rodgers at the Grammys.

The 40-year-old singer said: "I really respect Elton John’s music and I’d love to do something with him. I would love to do a whole album with Stevie Wonder. That would be amazing. He doesn’t need me, but it’d be amazing."
