Paul Chuckle corrects panto blunder casting late brother Barry

Paul Chuckle was forced to correct a social media blunder which claimed his late brother Barry Chuckle would be starring in a pantomime this Christmas.
The 70-year-old actor was left devastated when his sibling passed away last month aged 73, but he is carrying on with work by starring as Baron Hardup in ‘Cinderella’ at Woking Theatre later this year, and he had to step in to suggest a change after it was claimed Barry would be taking on the role over the festive period.
A tweet by a panto fan page read: "Cinderella at Woking has a Panto legend joining the cast- Barry Chuckle as Baron! #panto @PaulChuckle2 @QdosPantomimes (sic)"
But Paul spotted the gaffe and added a short correction, which read: "Paul".
This comes just weeks after Paul opened up about Barry’s death, saying his brother didn’t tell him he was suffering from cancer until two months before his death – because he wanted to "die on stage like Tommy Cooper".
Paul said: "He had pains in his legs for round about two years. Before we went to pantomime a couple of years ago he had pains in his legs.
"He was telling me what it was like, and I’ve had sciatica before and it’s very, very painful. I said, ‘It sounds like sciatica,’ and that’s what he kept telling me it was for two years.
"He kept it from me and he kept it from our manager Phil. He didn’t want us to know because we would’ve said ‘no’, but he wanted to work until he died. He wanted to die on stage like Tommy Cooper. He just loved working, loved making people laugh. He was just a lovely guy.
"It was only a couple of months ago I find out he was even ill … that ill."
Paul – whose real name is Paul Elliott – has vowed to carry on in the entertainment industry after Barry suggested he do so shortly before his death.
The ‘ChuckleVision’ star explained: "Barry said, ‘You’ve got to carry on, don’t stop.’ We love entertaining people, making people laugh so I will hopefully carry on.
"I keep saying ‘we’ but it’s me on my own now."
