Bono wants interactive albums

Bono plans for U2's albums to be "interactive".
The 'One' rocker is concerned about the decline in record sales over the years but thinks the key to revitalising the format is to make artwork important again by embracing technology to give listeners a more complete experience.
Discussing how to boost record sales, he said: "It's album artwork. Not videos, because videos demand your attention. You need to think it's supposed to be on in the background when you listen to the music - a much more ambient experience. People could watch while listening - the way we used to when you'd open up, say, The Clash's 'Sandinista!' and get lost in the lyrics. 'Where are they? Where's Nicaragua?'
"This format is coming - the relaunching of album artwork. A plasma screen, poof! Your phone, boom! While you're listening. Because music used to be an immersive medium, not just sonically, it was always the visuals, too.
"Elvis is an audiovisual phenomenon. The Beatles were audiovisual. It's harder and harder to get people to pay for an MP3 file, but it will be easier when you're getting something much more interactive."
However, it may take some time for Bono's ideas to come to fruition as the band admit they are "slow learners".
Drummer Larry Mullen Jr. told The Hollywood Reporter: "We've always needed collaborators to challenge us. We're slow learners. We need to be creative, on the cutting edge, challenged, and it's really hard going, it's relentless, and we're relentless, and we have a history of breaking engineers, producers.
"I mean, people come out of working with U2 and just go, 'I just don't know what's happened; it feels like a lifetime has passed by.' And that's just the way we work."

Tim Healy demanded new boobs

Tim Healy demanded new boobs for his 'Benidorm' character.
The actor portrays transvestite Lesley in the hit ITV comedy and he is enjoying the role even more this year now his "plastic balls" and "rubber" bra have been replaced by a set of fake breasts.
He said: "These boobs are much better than last year where I had to wear plastic balls.
"This one is a proper bra so it's a bit more comfortable. The other ones were rubber and sweaty and horrible."
The 62-year-old actor also admitted some other aspects of his costume are not very comfortable.
He told The Sun newspaper: "The wigs get hot when I'm filming on my rollerblades around the pool.
"I hate these nails because I like playing my guitar. They're too long and they catch the strings."
However, despite his discomfort, Tim adores the show and has no plans to leave.
He said: "I will come back as long as they want me. I love it.
"It's a great job and I love 'Benidorm', you can be whoever you want to be.
"You get a complete mixture of people, older people on scooters, young people partying... it's good fun.
"I hope it lasts for ever."
The final episode in the current series of 'Benidorm' airs tonight (13.02.14) on ITV at 9pm.

Charlotte Crosby has bruised her bum

Charlotte Crosby has bruised her bum.
The 'Geordie Shore' star - who is prone to unfortunate accidents including wetting herself during booze-filled benders - has suffered a nasty mishap while travelling in India, sustaining a huge purple bruise on each buttock.
Charlotte shared a photo montage of her painful-looking injuries - which also include a gash on her elbow, a bandaged wrist and a scrape on her cheek - on Instagram.
She captioned the image: "I may be smiling but BELIEVE me I wasn't at the time! #Ouch #YesThatIsMyBum #Bruising #CantSitDown #SplitMyArmOpen #IndiaWhatHaveYouDoneToMe LOL."
This comes after she wrote on Twitter last Sunday (09.02.14): "Last day in India! And I have a bandaged up arm a massively bruised bum which is not good for this flight to Delhi #Ouch".
The party girl has been filming her new TLC TV show, thought to follow a similar format to 'An Idiot Abroad', which sees the ditzy brunette travel the globe to spend time with people from different cultures.
From Geishas to Inuits, Charlotte will immerse herself in their ways of life far away from the Newcastle party scene.
She previously commented: "When they told me about going to my first destination Japan, I screamed 'OMG!!!!!!! I CANT BELIEVE I'M GOING TO CHINA!!!!' The crew just put their head in their hands!"

Juliette Lewis joins Secrets and Lies cast

Juliette Lewis has joined a new mystery TV drama.
The Oscar-nominated actress will star in ABC's new series 'Secrets and Lies' with Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Phillippe.
The murder mystery show - which is a remake of an Australian TV drama - will follow the death of a four-year-old boy, Tom Mullen, and Juliette is set to play an intrepid police investigator tasked with finding his killer.
The 'August: Osage County' star's character Andrea Cornell will suspect Ryan's alter-ego Ben, a loving father who is first to discover the boy's body.
Juliette's character is described as a formidable detective, who, according to The Hollywood Reporter, can be "hard to read" and is "often if not always the smartest person in the room".
The 40-year-old actress shot to fame with an Oscar and Golden Globe nomination for 'Cape Fear' and played one of the lead roles in cult hit 'Natural Born Killers'.
Her most recent role is the family drama 'August: Osage County', which earned her co-stars Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep Oscar nominations.
Juliette is no stranger to TV roles as she recently starred in miniseries 'Wayward Pines' for US channel FOX and NBC's short-lived drama 'The Firm'.

David Walliams: Simon Cowell more cocky

David Walliams thinks Simon Cowell is trying to steal his comedy thunder on 'Britain's Got Talent'.
The camp comic - who sits on the judging panel with Simon, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden - has accused his fellow judge and the show's creator of trying outdo him with jokes and one-liners of his own.
And David believes Simon's recent personality change stems from his impending fatherhood.
David said: "Simon's got really cocky because he's impregnated a woman. I don't know if you've heard about it -- it's been quite a low-key story.
"He is making jokes the whole time and it's becoming very annoying. He's not funny ... he's funny peculiar, maybe.
"If I make a joke, he has to make one better. If I get on the stage, he has to get on the stage.
"He got up so a child could throw knives at him. But unfortunately, the child missed."
Fellow judge Amanda has also noticed the 54-year-old judge has become funnier this year, but she suspects Simon may have had some hired help.
She told The Sun newspaper: "Simon is being a bit funnier than David this year. I was thinking, 'Has he got a scriptwriter?' You can't normally top David."

Alex Pettyfer doesn’t want to dance on screen

Alex Pettyfer wants a film role where he doesn't have to dance.
The 'Magic Mike' actor insists he "can't dance" and was pleased a scene in romantic drama 'Endless Love' didn't require him to have the best moves.
He told the Belfast Telegraph newspaper: "I can't dance, that's the thing. I can't dance or sing, I can barely act. They asked me to dance in 'Magic Mike'. I was like, 'Alright, fine, I'm going to waddle.'
"In 'Endless Love' there's a scene - which actually, by me not being able to dance works well - they said, 'We want you to do this dance scene.' I was like, 'Is there going to be a movie where I'm not dancing next, please?'"
Pettyfer doubts his own skills on the dance floor but applauds his 'Magic Mike' co-star Matt Bomer who has "rhythm".
He added: "I did have a partner in Magic Mike, it was Matt Bomer, and Matt's amazing, he's got that rhythm and he's an incredible singer.
"But yeah, I need to find a movie where I don't have to dance in it."

Ricky Wilson had to prove his singing ability

Ricky Wilson has had to prove himself as a singer on his band's new album.
The Kaiser Chiefs frontman, whose band are set to release their new record 'Education, Education And War' next month, admits he felt under pressure to brush up on his vocal skills after becoming a coach on BBC talent show 'The Voice'.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "I've really had to step it up vocally on the new album. Obviously, if I am judging other people's singing on the show, then I have to prove I can do it too."
The 'Ruby' hitmakers - including Andrew White, Nick Baines, Simon Rix and Vijay Mistry - hit a low point when drummer and main songwriter Nick Hodgson, 36, quit in 2012.
But the band are now ready for a comeback and feel Ricky's exposure on 'The Voice' has helped.
The 36-year-old star explained: "When Nick left, people assumed we were finished and we realised: 'Sh*t, we're in trouble.
"We had to prove to ourselves, to Nick, the critics and all our fans that we were still fighting."
Ricky began filming 'The Voice' with fellow coaches Kylie Minogue, will.i.am, and Sir Tom Jones, during a break from recording the new album in Los Angeles.
He said: "Leaving my friends in LA felt horrible but feeling so low proved that I love being in a band."
Ricky admits he has struggled with the hectic schedule when appearing on the show and begged producers to let him have a day off during filming in Manchester.
He said: "We arrived before daylight and finished at 1am.
"After seven days in a row I said to the other three: 'Shall we take a day off?' Tom said, 'No. You just get on with it, don't you?'
"I would go back to the hotel, but Will would go mix Britney Spears' album and turn up totally committed the next morning."
The Kaiser Chiefs new album is released on March 31 and the band will showcase material at Scala in London tonight (13.02.14) from 9pm.

Prince Harry and Cressida at Cirque du Soleil

Britain's Prince Harry and girlfriend Cressida Bonas enjoyed a night at the London's Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday (12.02.14).
According to Royal Central, the 29-year-old prince and his on/off girlfriend of 20 months were in a private box watching a performance of Cirque du Soleil.
Witnesses reported the pair appeared in good spirits and looked "loved-up" as they left the prestigious venue.
Harry and Cressida have been together since May 2012 and have been on a number of romantic dates around the city.
They were last photographed grabbing a burger London restaurant Byron in Kensington High Street, close to Kensington Palace, in January, after spending time apart over New Year.
The pair spent more than an hour in the restaurant with two security men before getting into the prince's car outside.
The flame-haired royal is said to be "smitten" and friends say Cressida, 24, is very like his mother, the late Princess Diana.
A source previously said: "She's such an honest, sweet girl and in many ways is like Diana. Harry is just smitten."
The couple also enjoyed a romantic break at Cressida's family farm in Norfolk, East England, last month.
The estate - where the prince met his girlfriend's father for the first time last summer - is just a short drive away from the royal residence of Sandringham.

Nicole Scherzinger quits The X Factor

Nicole Scherzinger has quit 'The X Factor'.
The former Pussycat Doll, who has been a judge on the ITV talent show for the past two series, has reportedly made the "agonising" decision to leave to focus on her music career.
A friend of the star told The Sun newspaper: "It breaks her heart, but Nicole is sad not to be able to go back to the show this year. She has agonised over this decision for months.
"She put her music career on hold last year but now she has to focus on her music."
The news comes just days after 'X Factor' boss Simon Cowell announced he would return for the next series, replacing Gary Barlow, and would like Cheryl Cole to join the panel once again.
Show bosses were keen to keep Nicole, 35, who recently signed a new recording contract with Sony, but those close to Simon say she will "always be part of the 'X Factor' family."
Nicole is believed to have inked a £3 million recording deal and is due to release a new album in coming months, her first new material in three years.
Simon admitted this week he's been in talks with Girls Aloud singer Cheryl, 30, to come on board after a three-year absence but said it's been difficult to try and persuade her.
Speaking about her possible return, he said: "To be fair to Cheryl, it hasn't been about the money with her. It's about whether she wants to do it and whether she can handle the pressure, so I'm not quite sure yet [if she will come back]."
Simon added: "She had her poker face on."
The 54-year-old music mogul wants to recreate the success of the series in 2010, when One Direction started their journey to becoming the world's biggest boy band.
The show pulled in 19 million viewers and saw Matt Cardle crowned the winner, while just 11.5 million watched as Sam Bailey was named champion last year.
Meanwhile, sources say Simon is also keen to sign Rita Ora as a new judge on the show.

Madonna ‘hates’ her music

Madonna "hates" her own music.
The 55-year-old singer is tired of hearing her own songs so would never work out to a soundtrack of her own material.
She admitted: "I don't work out to my music - I hate my music! I mean, I'm sick of it.
"I love my music, but I'm just kind of sick of it. I like to hear other people's music when I work out."
The 'Hung Up' hitmaker - who has children Lourdes, 17, Rocco, 13, and Mercy and David, both eight - is known for her toned physique but she isn't always happy with her body.
Speaking at the opening of her Hard Candy Fitness gym in Toronto, Canada, she said: "I have a love/hate relationship with my body. "Some days I'm happy with it and other days... I wasn't born with Gisele Bundchen's body unfortunately, so you got to work for it - but it's OK."
Madonna - who is dating 26-year-old dancer Timor Steffens - also admitted she isn't a fan of "big bulky" guys but does like them to be in shape.
Speaking to 'Entertainment Tonight Canada' reporter Roz Weston, she said: "You need to work out. I'm not into big bulky muscles, but a little more definition would be good.
"I like a lean, mean, fighting machine!"
