Gary Oldman says David Bowie is "planning something".
The two stars are close friends, and the 'RoboCop' actor thinks there's still a chance the reclusive singer could go on tour again following the surprise release of his album 'The Next Day' in January 2013.
He told the Mail on Sunday newspaper's Event magazine: "I was thrilled when he released the new album last year.
"I was on the phone to him and he said, 'I don't know about touring. I have no great desire to get out there again at the moment.'
"And I said, 'But you're writing again?' And he said he was. I think we'll probably see him again. He's planning something."
Gary also revealed despite being "a fan of his music", he still sees the 'Ziggy Stardust' rocker as an ordinary man and a friend rather than a celebrity.
He explained: "Dave is a really nice guy. I see him less as David Bowie and more as Dave from Brixton and I'm Gary from New Cross. I was a fan of his music and I still am. We're just mates."

Miley Cyrus has responded to a fan who asked to take her to his high school prom.
The 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker took to her Twitter account after Matt Peterson revealed a video of him to see if his hero would accompany him to the formal dance.
While Miley turned down his offer, she did make up for it by inviting him to "hang" out at her Arizona concert.
She tweeted: "Dear Matt Peterson, I don't think I'll be able to make it to prom BUT why don't you come to my AZ show & hang w me? Don't forget a corsage (sic)"
The response came after Matt's video - which featured him wearing very little clothing, a foam finger and a bouquet of roses.
Alongside the affectionate clip, he wrote: "I have been a fan of yours from the beginning.
"You've changed my life, and I want to repay you by giving you the best night of your life."
Although he didn't get exactly what he wanted, the student was delighted with Miley's response and excited for the show.
He tweeted: "I need a tongue tuxedo made by the 27th. THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE!!! #mileyprom [sic]"

Victoria Beckham is a huge fan of 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The fashion star has become obsessed with the show, and professional dancer Kristina Rihanoff was impressed with how much she knew about the ballroom contest.
Kristina told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "I had the pleasure of talking to Victoria and I just found her so lovely. She was asking me a lot about the show.
"She knew so much about how I had done with my partner Ben Cohen. I was a little surprised actually. She knew if he'd had a good week doing ballroom and a bad week the next. Very specific stuff.
"For example, she said she liked his lifts which shows she must really be paying attention!"
It seems Victoria watches the show with her husband David and their children Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 11, Cruz, eight, and two-year-old Harper, and it has become a big part of their "quality time".
Kristina added: "It was nice to know she is watching with her family. She was very sweet about her family spending quality time together for 'Strictly.' "

Cheryl Cole has been given six weeks to decide on her 'X Factor' future.
The 30-year-old singer is in line for a sensational return to the TV talent show, but the end of her first run brings back bad memories of her divorce from Ashley Cole and her battle against malaria - and so she isn't sure if she'd be happy being back as a judge.
An insider told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "She is in a good place, the best she's ever been.
"She is focused on her music career and doesn't know whether she wants to throw herself back into the spotlight to this degree again."
However, her uncertainty could cost her a big-money return, with Simon Cowell said to be keen to get a quick decision either way, so he can begin the hunt for a replacement if necessary.
The source added: "He doesn't really understand what there is to mull over and just wants it sorted out.
"Contracts will need to be signed in May. If Cheryl is going to pull out they need to have someone else to go after. They are hoping for an answer in the next six weeks."

Max George splits from Nina Agdal.
The Wanted singer is said to have broken up with his girlfriend after he and the model started to want "different things out of the relationship".
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday newspaper, a source revealed: "It was hard for Max to dump Nina so soon after news broke that The Wanted are breaking up.
"But they just wanted different things out of the relationship and had grown slightly apart."
However, despite the breakdown of his relationship and the 'All Time Low' boy band, Max is said to be staying "optimistic" during such a "challenging time".
The insider added: "It's a challenging time for Max as he's going through big changes in his personal and private life.
"But he is being optimistic. He is looking at it all as an opportunity for a fresh start. He's not one to get down in the dumps about things."
Even with Max trying to be upbeat, he spoke last year about how happy he was being in a relationship with someone he considered his "best friend".
He previously said: "I'm very happy now. For the first time I am with a girl who is my best friend.
"She's funny, calm and nice with everyone - the boys, my family. I feel settled."

Taylor Swift started writing music because she was lonely.
The 23-year-old beauty has had several high-profile flings - including One Direction singer Harry Styles - but she insisted rejection when she was younger motivated her to begin creating her own songs.
She told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: "I started writing songs because I wasn't invited to parties and sleep-overs. I wasn't noticed by the guy I like."
However, the 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' hitmaker found solace in her art and she explained she has learned "a lot" of important life lessons from her own music.
She added: "Writing songs has taught me a lot. One of the hardest lessons to learn in life is there's sometimes nothing you can do to make someone like you if they don't. It's okay to let that go."
Taylor is known for putting her personal life on display in her tracks, and she has admitted her openness in that way means she doesn't feel the need to take her clothes off like many of her pop rivals.
She recently explained: "I find it relatively easy to keep my clothes on because I don't really feel like taking them off. It's not an urge I have.
"For me 'risky' is revealing what really happened in my life through music. Risky is writing confessional songs and telling the true story about a person with enough details so everyone knows who that person is.
"That's putting myself out there, maybe even more than taking my shirt off."

Justin Bieber's new fling wants him to stop his bad behaviour.
The 19-year-old star - whose recent controversy includes being investigated over the egging of a neighbor's house and getting arrested for driving under the influence (DUI), resisting arrest and driving with an invalid licence - is said to be dating Katherine Gazda, who wants him to settle down.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "They hit it off straight away and are both really serious about one another.
"But their relationship has been very up and down because she can't stand the way he has been behaving recently. She is desperately trying to help him through all the scandal and regain his clean-cut image.
"Underneath all the bravado and controversy, Katherine believes he's a lovely kid with a real heard, she just thinks he is being led astray."
Despite the influence of Katherine - who was introduced to him at the end of last year - it appears the 'Beauty and a Beat' hitmaker is in for more drama.
According to the Sunday People newspaper, Justin's lawyers are trying to stop half-naked pictures of him in a US police station from being given to the media.
The images were apparently taken after his arrest for drag racing, and a motion has been filed to a Florida judge.
It reads: "While in custody the defendant was captured on videotape in various states of undress which show intimate personal parts of the defendants body."
Justin has pleaded not guilty to drag-racing, DUI and driving without a valid license, and he faces trial on March 3.

Scarlett Johansson intimidated her 'Under the Skin' castmates.
The 29-year-old actress - who recently stepped down from her role as an ambassador for children's charity UNICEF in favour of a sponsorship deal with SodaStream - seduces a large number of men in the film, and as the actors playing them were mostly amateur, she says they found her intimidating.
She said: "These characters that I'm picking up are those forgotten guys - they don't have any ties. They're not like the coolest kid in school. So the guys I was working with, it helped [their performance] that they'd be like, 'I can't believe I'm sitting next to you.' "
Scarlett also revealed that she felt uncomfortable whilst watching the film in which she plays a seductress who preys upon hitchhikers, and said she tried to pretend she wasn't watching herself on screen.
She said: "It was strange. I felt really anxious. I didn't know what the film would look like at all. I tried to watch it as an audience member. And it pulled me into it."
The 'Avengers Assemble' star - who got engaged to French journalist Romain Dauriac last year following her divorce from 'Green Lantern' actor Ryan Reynolds - filmed 'Under the Skin' in the Scottish Highlands and admits she tried some of the local delicacies.
She told SFX magazine: "I don't eat red meat so I tried the vegetarian haggis. It tasted like stuffing. And Irn-Bru - that's got a kick!"

Kacey Musgraves cried the first time she heard herself on the radio.
The singer - who won her a Grammy award recently for her debut album 'Same Trailer, Different Park' - didn't know how she'd react when she first heard her debut track 'Merry Go 'Round' being played when she was driving around Nashville with her sister.
She said: "I heard the first few licks of the song and I didn't know how it would affect me.
"I'm not always super emotional. When I heard the first part of the song, I just started bawling my eyes out. It was a very crazy, surreal, rewarding and full-circle moment.
"It was cool that my little sister was there. She had her camera so she captured the moment on film. I was just freaking out and cussing and trying not to wreck my car."
Kacey added she always knew that particular track - about the perils of small town life - was always going to be her fist single because of the reception it got when she played it live.
She added to Radio.com: "It didn't matter if I was in Texas or if I was in Scotland or New York, people were coming up to me and just saying, 'That is my life.' I've realised it's not a small-town thing -- it's a life thing. We follow in our parents' footsteps because that's what we feel like we should do until we can figure out our own thing."

Mel B would like a baby boy.
The former Spice Girls singer - who has daughters Phoenix, 14, and Angel, six, from previous relationships, Madison, two, with husband Stephan Belafonte and also helps raise eight-year-old Giselle, her spouse's daughter - treasures her girls but if she added to her family again in the future, she'd like a son.
She said: "[If I could learn anything from the future, I'd want to know] if I get pregnant again, will it be a boy? I've got four girls, and I would like to know if it's going to be a boy."
She also gushed over her "amazing" husband, because he is always there to support her.
Mel added: "My husband is amazing. I've known him for 20 years, we've been married for seven amazing years. He's my best friend, he's a great father, he's a great cook. He's a great person inside and out."
Mel - who was known as Scary Spice during her time in Spice Girls - also had a message for self-appointed Queen of Twerking Miley Cyrus.
She told America's OK! magazine: "Miley Cyrus did not invent twerking. It's been going on for decades."

Ashton Kutcher has been banned from partying while filming 'Two and A Half Men'.
The actor was known among cast and crew for having a good time after a hard day's filming, but producers have ordered him to stop having lots of guests in his luxury $2 million trailer.
A source told America's Star magazine: "Every Friday night after they finished filming, Ashton would throw wild parties until the early hours.
"The parties were notorious and got way out of hand. It wasn't unusual to see famous friends stumbling out of his trailer."
However, orders from the bosses of the Warner Bros. lot after complaints were received haven't gone down well with the party loving star and he doesn't want to curb his behaviour.
The source added: "Ashton's not happy about the decision. He says he felt like king of the lot."
Meanwhile, Ashton was on his best behaviour earlier this month, when he attended his twin brother, Michael's wedding in St. Simons Island, Georgia, with his girlfriend Mila Kunis.
A source said the actor looked "chill and comfortable" during the ceremony and the following reception.

Angelina Jolie has a diet which is comprised of "ancient grains".
'The Tourist' star claims eating the archaic foodstuffs - which include millet, chia seeds, spelt, buckwheat and quinoa - have great benefits for her body and wellbeing, and she can't stop eating them.
A source told National Enquirer magazine: "Angie's always been a fan of healthy seeds and grains, but lately she's taken it to a whole new level. She's into eating products made from 'ancient grains' and raves about their health benefits. She claims they provide her with nutrients she can't find anywhere else, plus shinier skin."
Angelina's slender frame has been subject to much speculation about her health and it has previously been claimed in 2011 the actress - who raises six children with partner Brad Pitt - was surviving on as little as 600 calories a day.
A source said at the time: "Angelina has been known to start her day with little more than a spoonful of coconut oil and a handful of cereal.
"The worrying thing is that she is so busy, she often forgets to eat.
Sometimes she'll skip lunch altogether or will just grab a few almonds and some gummy bears while she's on the go, or will have a protein-based shake rather than anything more substantial.
"Then dinner could be something like a lean steak and a glass of red wine."
