Lena Headey was a fighter

Lena Headey used to fight a lot.
The actress was well-equipped for her role as Spartan Queen Gorgo in '300: Rise of an Empire' because she has plenty of experience of scrapping when she was younger, though she is unsure why she came to blows so often.
She said: "I did a lot of training, which I love. I'm a tomboy. I used to get into a lot of fights. Don't know why, self-expression I guess. I got into boxing."
The 40-year-old actress has a three-year-old son, Wylie, from her marriage to
musician Peter Loughran and she enjoyed bringing the little boy to the set of the movie because he was impressed by her sword-fighting skills.
She added in an interview with People magazine: "He was on set during a fight scene. He stood up and said, 'Ninjas, be gentle!"
Lena - who also plays Queen Cersei in 'Games of Thrones' - also finds it funny how she's picked for regal roles because she isn't like that in real life.
She said: "I'm covered [in tattoos]. That's what's hilarious. You couldn't get less royal than me."

Paul McCartney got special meal

Sir Paul McCartney had a special dish made for him at a restaurant in Hollywood.
The vegetarian 'Please Please Me' singer and his wife, Nancy Shevell, ate with his former The Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr and his spouse, Barbara Bach, at upmarket eatery Il Piccolino, but when he couldn't decide what he wanted from the menu, the owner took him to speak to the chef and they came up with an appetising dish.
A source said: "The owner, a friend, escorted the ex-Beatle into the kitchen where Paul - who loves to cook - watched intently as the chef prepared veggies chosen by the star."
The star was then thrilled when he even got a special extra treat with his dinner - the recipe written out just for him.
The source added to National Enquirer magazine: "Paul went back to his table and was thrilled when his repast arrived, complete with the chef's handwritten recipe."
Paul has previously spoken of how much he enjoys the "creative" vegetarian food options available in restaurants.
He said: "Even 20 years ago, it could sometimes be difficult to find vegetarian options in good restaurants. Now it's great to see more and more choice with some brilliant creative dishes in restaurants, cafés and supermarkets. There is definitely now an overall greater acceptance of being vegetarian."

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum closer because of baby

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum "communicate" differently now they are parents.
The 'Step Up' co-stars are parents to Everly, nine months, and the actress says having a daughter has brought her closer to her husband because they have so many more decisions to make.
Jenna said: "You become closer because you have to be in the same page to make decisions for the baby.
"It makes us communicate about things we never did before."
Channing and Jenna adore their baby, but also recognise its important for them to spend quality time as a couple, so they organise regular date nights.
She told Us Weekly magazine: "You have to have adult conversations for your own sanity. So we get a sitter, go out and have some fun. We're very good about making time for that."
Jenna also says the youngster is very much daddy's girl.
She has said: "He's like a big kid. He plays with her, and she laughs harder and smiles bigger than she does with anyone. Dad comes around and it's playtime. She's like, 'Mom, I'll talk to you later!'"

Phillip Schofield backs Dancing on Ice ending

Phillip Schofield thinks it's the "best time" for 'Dancing on Ice' to end.
The 51-year-old presenter - who fronts the ITV show with Christine Bleakley - is sad to see the skating competition end after nine years this weekend, but is glad to end on a high.
He told new! magazine: "I'm enormously proud of the programme - it's a beautifully made show - but it's the best time to go, while it's still on top. I've really enjoyed presenting it so much."
Phillip says the standard of competition on the final all-stars series of 'Dancing on Ice' is higher than ever and he can't quite predict who will win on Sunday (09.03.14).
He explained: "They're all brilliant but Ray Quinn is getting better and better. Hayley Tamaddon has been great and Beth Tweddle is a very talented skater. They are all turning in great routines. But let's not forget, it's a public vote."
The silver-haired fox also shared his favourite moment from 'Dancing on Ice', admitting he couldn't contain his laughter when former 'EastEnders' actor Todd Carty faced some technical difficulty in 2009.
He recalled: "One of the funniest times was when Todd Carty disappeared out of the rink. We all loved that. And the quality of skating in this final series has been extraordinary."

Sue Perkins turned down Bake Off

Sue Perkins initially turned down 'The Great British Bake Off'.
The 44-year-old TV presenter - who fronts the BBC Two baking competition with Mel Giedroyc - has admitted she passed on the chance to host the show at first because she didn't think it would last.
She said: "They said, "Would you do it?' and I said, 'No, it's about cakes, don't be silly.' "
However, Sue is now thankful she changed her mind as 'Bake Off' has enjoyed momentous success over the past four years and will soon move to BBC One.
She added: "I can't tell you how joyous it is. I'm the luckiest person alive."
The comedienne's role in the show has led to worldwide attention and she is recognised where she least expects it.
Appearing on 'The Jonathan Ross Show' - which airs on ITV tomorrow (08.03.14) - Sue said: "I was in Angkor Wat, the massive temple in Cambodia, doing a really pretentious piece to camera - that thank god will never make the edit - and a load of guys went, 'Bake.' "
Sue and Mel have become good friends with judge Mary Berry, 78, and recently introduced the sophisticated TV chef to tabloid talk show 'The Jeremy Kyle Show', which features scandalous revelations and family feuds.
She revealed: "Mary loves Jeremy Kyle. We've got her into Jeremy Kyle. She says, 'This is extraordinary. Absolutely marvellous.' Then after a while you go, 'It is real.' [Mary says] 'Is it really?' "

Shia LaBeouf didn’t have real sex in Nymphomaniac

Shia LaBeouf didn't actually have sex with his co-star in 'Nymphomaniac'.
Actress Stacy Martin knows scenes between her and Shia are particularly intimate in the movie - about a self confessed sex addict recounting her life story - but they were achieved through careful use of prosthetics and porn doubles.
She told Nylon magazine: "Neither Shia nor I were willing to actually have sex onscreen, obviously.
"Everything was set in place for us to have a porn double, a prosthetic vagina, special effects.
"As actors, we could be ourselves and commit to an amazing project, but we were protected as human beings, and, speaking for myself, as a woman."
Stacy, 22, also said the script led to her and Shia to have some very interesting conversations off-set.
She added: "We'd be sitting around in restaurants, saying, 'You know the penis scene? How are we going to do that?' "
The budding actress has previously said filming some of the sex scenes got a little boring because they were so technical.
She said: "It's not the most relaxing experience. It is quite strange, but also it is very, very technical. It almost becomes a bit boring because [director] Lars [Von Trier] gives you a lot of freedom when you're filming in general, and then suddenly you are restricted into doing certain positions and being very specific. Because they have to match everything together [with the doubles], you just have to really obey what they tell you. So you just have to get on with it."

Jessica Simpson reaches target weight

Jessica Simpson has reached her target weight.
The reality star and mother to daughter Maxwell, 21 months, and son Ace, eight months, has shed 50lbs of her baby weight and celebrated by posting shots of herself in a white dress on Instagram.
Under one picture she wrote: "First time rocking a white dress this year ...but not the last!! Thanks @weightwatchers! (sic)"
Alongside another picture of her wearing a T-shirt, she added: "...AND a white T-shirt!!#goalreached thx (sic)"
Jessica - who is engaged to be married to Eric Johnson - also posted a picture of Maxwell, showing how she has inherited her famous blonde hair colour.
She captioned it: "The most beautiful girl in the world."
She also posted a picture of her holding Ace, saying he was the "most handsome boy in the world".
Jessica - who is a spokesperson for Weight Watchers - has previously said she has set a date for her wedding to former NFL star Eric, 34, and is planning to stay in shape for her big day.
She said: "I think it's about time! Knowing that I have the wedding coming up is an incentive to stay on Weight Watchers, count my points and stay in the gym. I mean, when you see my dress, you'll know."

Angelina Jolie laughs about being a good villain

Angelina Jolie finds it funny how people think she makes a great villain.
The 38-year-old actress appears as the titular wicked witch in 'Maleficent' and admits she was always drawn to the character when she was younger.
She told Entertainment Weekly magazine: "It is really funny when people say you'd be obvious for a great villain. She was just my favourite as a little girl. I was terrified of her, but I was really drawn to her. I loved her.
"There were some discussions about it before I got the part, and I got a phonecall from my brother, who said, 'You've got to get your name on the list for this!"
The star raises six children with her fiance Brad Pitt - Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, seven, and twins Vivienne and Knox, five - and secretly told them the film's plot to gauge their reaction.
She added: "I told my kids I was playing Maleficent and they said, 'She's so scary!' and I said, 'Let me tell you the real story, but you can't tell anybody.'
"And I put them in the room and I told them the [film's] story. So this was my test too, like any parent. And the next day I heard Shiloh getting into a fight with another kid, defending Maleficent, saying, 'You don't understand her!' They got into a bit of an argument and I thought, 'That's the reason to do the film.' "

Scarlett Johansson’s baby a ‘welcome surprise’

Scarlett Johansson's pregnancy was a "welcome surprise".
The 'Avengers Assemble' star announced she is having with her first child with fiancè Romain Dauriac earlier this week but a friend says they have known about it for some time.
The source told UsMagazine.com: "She's about four months along. The baby was a welcome surprise."
The insider says Scarlett has been looking forward to telling people of her happiness, adding: "She's just excited to share the news."
The actress had previously talked about her desire to start a family at the end of last year, saying in December: "I would like to have my own family, that would be nice.
"They say it's never the right time and I am sure that's true, but I think you have to plan it like anything else.
"At some point it is something I look forward to."
Scarlett, 29, and Romaine, 31, got engaged in August last year after he proposed with a vintage Art Deco ring.
The 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' star has previously said she and Romain don't want to "rush through" tying the knot, as "being engaged is an exciting time to enjoy and to really savour."
The marriage will be Scarlett's second after she was previously wed to actor Ryan Reynolds between 2008 and 2011.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West agree prenup

Kim Kardashian will get $1 million for every year she stays married to Kanye West.
The couple have signed a prenuptial agreement ahead of their forthcoming wedding this spring, in which Kanye has been very generous toward his future spouse.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "The entire process for the prenup for Kim and Kanye has been extremely easy, and relatively drama free.
"Kanye didn't even think the couple needed a prenup, and was ready to give Kim carte blanche to all of his financial assets. Yes, he loves Kim that much."
The source adds drawing up the document was much easier than the last time Kim, 33, married, to basketball player Kris Humphries, in 2011, a union which lasted just 72 days.
The source added: "There is a huge difference from Kim's prenup with Kris Humphries ... the preparation of their agreement went on for several months. It was long and tedious."
The agreement states Kim will get $1 million a year for as long as she stays married, with a cap at ten years. Should they divorce she would keep all gifts given to her by 'New Slaves' rapper Kanye. The couple's still incomplete Bel Air mansion will also be in Kim's name, even though Kanye has paid for the majority of it, and she will also benefit from one of Kanye's life insurance policies, valued at $20 million, even in the event of a divorce.
According to estimates Kanye is worth $100 million, while Kim - who was also married to Damon Thomas from 2000 to 2004 - has a personal fortune of around $40 million from her clothing line and promotional appearances.
No custody arrangements for their eight-month-old daughter, North, are included in the prenuptial document.
The insider added: "The couple are focused on the wedding and looking forward to spending the rest of their lives together. Kim is head over heels in love with Kanye, and knows this is forever. Despite having been married twice before, Kim is treating this wedding as her one and only."
Kim and Kanye are said to be marrying in Paris, France on May 24.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt don’t want their children to act

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt don't want their children to be actors.
The couple raise six kids together - Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, seven, and twins Vivienne and Knox, five - and despite letting Vivienne have a cameo in her new film 'Maleficent', Angelina is not encouraging them to become screen stars.
She told Entertainment Weekly magazine: "We think it's fun for our kids to have cameos and join us on set, but not to be actors. That's not the goal for Brad and me at all. I think we would both prefer that they didn't become actors. "But she was four at the time and other three and four year old [actors] really wouldn't come near me. Big kids thought I was cool - but little kids didn't really like me. So, in order to have a child that wants to play with [Maleficent]... it had to be a child that really liked me and wasn't afraid of my horns and my eyes and claws, so it had to be Viv."
Angelina added Pax was incredibly scared when he first saw her in full make-up as the titular wicked witch, he ran away.
She added: "When Pax saw me for the first time he ran away and got upset. I thought he was kidding, so I was pretending to chase him until I actually found him crying. I had to take off pieces [of the make-up] in front of him to show him it was all fake and not freak him out so much."

Justin Bieber back with Selena Gomez?

Justin Bieber has reunited with Selena Gomez.
The 'Never Say Never' singer has been spotted looking close with his ex in the city of McAllen in Texas this morning (07.03.14), a day after he stormed out of a legal deposition when he was quizzed about her.
The pair - who were first linked in 2010 but split in January 2013, only to get back together again briefly at the beginning of this year - were seen having breakfast at local restaurant Don Pepe's but refused to take photos during their meal.
Selena had pork chops with salsa, while the Justin opted for traditional Mexican dish Huevos Rancheros, according to E! news.
The pair then headed to flower shop LA Imports, where spies say they were hugging and talking about flowers. They then made their way to Perfumeria La Versailles to look around.
Selena is in her home state ahead of a show at Hidalgo State Farm tomorrow (08.03.14), which will be her first since she completed a stint in rehab in January.
Earlier this week Justin raised eyebrows when he posted a picture of his former love in an elegant Emilio Pucci dress for the Vanity Fair party after The Oscars with the caption: "The most elegant princess in the world."
Justin, 20, has recently found himself in a number of legal troubles due to his behaviour in the US and his native Canada, and his uncle, Brad Bieber, thinks his actions were down to him missing Selena.
He said: "How would you feel if your first love didn't work out? How would you feel if that relationship went sour and then it became public and you had no chance to heal or sort out your own emotions and feelings? He is just a brokenhearted, lost little boy."
