Victoria Beckham planning two dinner parties for 40th birthday

Victoria Beckham will have two dinner parties to celebrate her 40th birthday.
The fashion designer reaches the milestone age on April 17 and although she doesn't want a huge bash she and husband David will enjoy an evening surrounded by close friends before they celebrate the occasion with their children Brooklyn, 14, Romeo 11, Cruz, eight, and Harper, two.
A source told HELLO! magazine: "She really doesn't want a big party contrary to what many people think, those kind of ostentatious events just aren't her style.
"She is in Los Angeles on holiday and as David insisted on doing something, they've settled on a lovely dinner party with some of Victoria's LA-based friends and they'll do another one when they return to London. They also have a few special days planned out with their children in California, who are on their Easter holidays from school, and that is what Victoria is looking forward to most."
The star's close friends including A-Listers Eva Longoria and Kate Beckinsale are anticipated to help her make it a night to remember.
The source added: "Some of her friends like Eva Longoria and Kate Beckinsale are determined to make her birthday a night to remember. They will undoubtedly have a few surprises in store."

Anne Hathaway enjoys doing her own stunts

Anne Hathaway likes doing her own stunts.
The 31-year-old star - who grew up in New Jersey with brothers Michael and Thomas - admits she was an active child who enjoyed to "climb trees and jump off things" and still has a "daredevil side" to her.
She told the UK's HELLO! magazine: "[As a little girl] I was a real tomboy. I grew up with two brothers and I loved to climb trees and jump off things that were way too high for me. I still have a daredevil side - I love doing my own stunts in movies, or anything physical that will give me a thrill, although my mother wishes I didn't."
The actress - who is married to Adam Shulman - won Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2013 for her part in 'Les Miserables' and insists she finds it difficult to come to terms with her own success and couldn't believe she'd won such an honorary award.
Talking about last year's Academy Awards, Hathaway added: "That was a surreal evening. To be honest throughout that awards season I had a difficult time believing that I'd even done something worth respecting like that.
"The moment when the penny really dropped, that it was all happening, was after I'd been given the Oscar, had the pictures taken in the press room afterwards and then been shown back to my seat in the theatre. I looked to either side, and there was my husband to my right and Hugh Jackman to my left, and I'm sitting there holding an Oscar between two men who love me very, very much, and out onto the stage walks Barbara Streisand, who I had met only the day before and we'd had a really cool conversation, and suddenly it was all too much - I burst into tears."

Ed Sheeran: Madison Square Garden gigs proved a point

Ed Sheeran claims he wanted to play live at Madison Square Garden in New York to "prove a point".
The 23-year-old singer-songwriter, whose new track 'Sing' was played for the first time on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show last night (07.04.14), revealed bosses at Atlantic Records were unsure about him playing the huge US gigs so early on in his career last year but he predicted they were going to be sell-out shows.
He told Billboard magazine: "That's why I made them hold three [dates]. I know my fan base and I can tell when something is going well. And record sales didn't mirror ticket sales.
"People were very doubtful that I could sell out one Madison Square Garden [gig], but my reasoning for doing it was I wanted to prove a point."
The 'Lego House' hitmaker claims he didn't want to end his American success being an opening act after touring with singer and close friend Taylor Swift.
He explained: "I thought, 'Now I've done the Taylor tour, I'll probably be able to move up'. I remember the label just being like, 'Why are you doing that? You can't, don't do that, wait, wait'.
"And now whenever I visit radio stations or press or anyone in America, it's just like, 'Oh you did MSG', not, 'Oh, you sold quite a lot of records over a long period of time'. So, it's good, it proved a point."
Ed, who releases his second album 'x' on June 23, the follow-up to '+' in 2011, grossed over $8 million from headlining 31 shows in 2012, according to Billboard.
He added: "I've always sold more tickets in America than records. My income is six per cent record sales. So live is kind of everything."

Justin Bieber banned from Miami clubs?

Justin Bieber has reportedly been banned from Miami's top nightclubs.
The 'Baby' hitmaker and his entourage's party plans went awry over the weekend, as they were allegedly denied access to the city's biggest hotspots, including LIV, Story and Adoré.
A source told gossip website TMZ.com that the 20-year-old star's team rang ahead to reserve tables but the clubs' managers refused to let them in as the singer is one year under the legal age.
The clubs also think the star is too much trouble, as the last time he let his hair down in Miami he was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), resisting arrest and driving without a valid licence.
The insider claimed that Justin's DUI resulted in a lot of negative press for SET nightclub, where he was partying shortly before his arrest.
Some clubs offered to let the 'Heartbreaker' hitmaker in if he agreed to perform but he declined.
As a result, Justin was forced to enjoy a low-key night out at Cavalli Restaurant and Lounge in the city on Friday night (04.04.14).
The 'Beauty and a Beat' hitmaker, who has pled not guilty to all the charges against him, is set to appear in court again on May 5.

Peaches Geldof was devoted to sons

Peaches Geldof's friends insist she wasn't on drugs before her "unexplained and sudden" death.
The 25-year-old star's body was found at her five-bedroom home in Kent, England at 1.35pm on Monday (07.04.14), and while pals admit she was "fixated" on her late mother Paula Yates' death from an accidental drug overdose in 2000, she was devoted to her husband Tom Cohen and sons, Astala, 23 months, and Phaedra, 11 months.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Everyone is in complete shock. She was devoted to her children she was always with them."
The friend added: "The reason she was so thin is because she had an underactive thyroid and when she got pregnant, that went mental.
"She wasn't on drugs, well, not that her friends knew. We'd have stepped in otherwise."
Police officers found no evidence of hard drugs or a suicide note at the model and DJ's home, and there were no visible signs of injury.
But another insider said: "She had her mother's temperament. It's like she had a daughter/mother death wish.
"I think she thought dying young was somehow romantic -- you leave behind a myth."
The blonde beauty's final post on Twitter on Sunday (06.04.14) featured a picture of her with Paula, with the caption: "Me and my mum."
An ambulance was spotted arriving at her home at 8.30pm on Monday night and forensic experts left the property 30 minutes later.
A post-mortem is expected to take place later on Tuesday (08.04.14).

Lindsay Lohan attends AA meetings daily

Lindsay Lohan attends Alcoholics Anonymous meetings every day.
The 27-year-old actress, who admitted to "screwing up" and drinking since leaving rehab last summer when confronted by her life coach AJ Johnson on the latest episode of her reality TV show on Sunday night (06.04.14), is determined to stay sober and hasn't touched alcohol since her slip-up.
A source told E! News: "She has been really good lately."
The troubled star, who has been to rehab six times, attended a Miley Cyrus concert in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday (05.04.14), but the insider insisted she didn't drink and went home right after the show.
On Sunday's episode of 'Lindsay,' AJ confronted her after her mother Dina Lohan claimed they had shared a glass a of wine, and she then found a bottle in the troubled star's apartment.
But she was furious to be confronted on camera and initially denied relapsing before later admitting to "screwing up".
The 'Machete' star - who fled to Los Angeles for a week and failed to contact AJ as planned - said: "I rushed into a relationship .. and I jumped right into a relationship where we weren't on the same page.
"I wasn't considering the fact that the person I was seeing does drink and yeah. ... I had some wine.
"It's OK to admit it.... It's really scary. ... It took me a bit to realise, but then I thought, why am I holding this in?
"Yeah, f**k it, I screwed up and that's OK."

Nicole Kidman’s kids keep her ‘pretty sane’

Nicole Kidman's family keep her "pretty sane."
The 'Railway Man' star, who has daughters Sunday Rose, five, and Faith Margaret, three, with her husband of seven years, Keith Urban, works "very hard" to make sure her children have normal lives and credits them for keeping her grounded.
The 46-year-old actress told E! News: "There's a goldfish and a bunny. It's a completely normal life, which is what we both work very hard to have for our children. And I know normal has 100 different definitions these days, but what I consider normal is just really kind of eating dinner together, having breakfast together, talking, hanging out, going to moves...just the normal stuff.
"I mean, there's nothing like after dinner going, 'Hey, you wanna go get ice cream?' and the excitement of going with a three year old and a five year old to go and get ice cream. That, to me, is an awesome Saturday night."
The Australian beauty, who also has daughter Isabella, 21, and son Connor, 19, with her ex-husband Tom Cruise, usually travels everywhere with Keith and their daughters.
She explained: "I think we're a gypsy family and we travel around a lot and as long as I have my husband and kids close then everywhere feels pretty safe and pretty sane. I come from a family like that and we've created our family now to be like that."
She added: "Luckily Keith and I are very, very close and our kids are very close, we're just a very tight little unit."

Chris Brown’s trial is going ahead

Chris Brown's request to have his assault charges dismissed has been rejected.
Lawyers for the 'Fine China' hitmaker - who is accused of breaking Parker Adams' nose when he tried to insert himself in a photograph that the singer was taking with two female fans outside the W Hotel in Washington D.C. last October - claimed the singer should be cleared of all charges because prosecutors abused the grand jury process, but judge Patricia Wynn ruled in court on Monday (07.04.14) that his trial will go ahead later this month.
Chris' lawyer, Mark Geragos, argued prosecutors used the grand jury to "freeze" the testimony of the alleged victim and claimed the incident is "the most investigated misdemeanour of all time."
But the judge said prosecutors had a right to use the grand jury to assess the strength of their case, adding: "I am persuaded that there was no abuse."
The judge agreed to allow Chris and his bodyguard Chris Hollosy, who is also facing assault charges, to have separate trials after Hollosy's lawyer said his client wants to testify as a witness for the star and couldn't do so if they were tried at the same time.
Hollosy's trail is set to begin on April 17 and Chris' will take place afterwards. There will not be a jury as they are misdemeanor cases.
Chris, 24, was not present at the hearing as the US Marshals Service is still in the process of transporting him from Los Angeles to Washington but he will remain in jail in the city until the trial begins.
If convicted the entertainer faces a maximum of six months in jail and $1,000 fine, but he also faces up to four more years in jail in California as a result of violating the terms of his probation, stemming from his assault on Rihanna in 2009.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s grandmother has died

Gwyneth Paltrow is grieving the loss of her grandmother.
The 'Iron Man 3' star's paternal grandmother, Dorothy Paltrow, passed away in Palm Beach, Florida on March 31, just six days after the actress announced her split from Chris Martin after 10 years of marriage.
A death notice in the Palm Beach Post newspaper on Friday (04.04.14) stated that a private memorial service would be held for Dorothy, who is survived by her children Robert and Fran and five grandchildren, at a later date.
Gwyneth's father Bruce passed away from oral cancer in October 2002.
The family have asked for donations to be made in Dorothy's name to her late grandson Keith Adam Paltrow's Memorial Scholarship Fund at Cornell University in New York.
Dorothy's death came at a difficult time for Gwyneth, 41, who quietly flew to the Bahamas with Coldplay frontman Chris and their children, Apple, nine, and Moses, seven, before announcing their separation on March 25.
A source previously revealed that the blonde beauty's mother, Blythe Danner, was comforting her over the phone, as Gwyneth and Chris were lying low to avoid the spotlight.
Despite their split, the former couple - who have homes in Los Angeles and London - have vowed to stay friends for the sake of their children.
Another source said: "They're trying to make it as easy as possible for the kids. The whole plan is to do this as amicably as possible."

The 35-year-old former model shared a photograph of flowers in a cart printed with the words, 'It's a girl,' on Instagram on Monday (07.04.14), with the caption: "Words cannot express the joy my children bring me.
