Lily Allen missed perks of fame

Lily Allen returned to music because she missed "free clothes and handbags".
The 28-year-old singer doesn't think being a stay-at-home mother to Ethel, two, and Marnie, 15 months, "suited her" and she longed for the excitement of performing again - as well as the perks of fame.
She said: "I wasn't good at staying at home all day, it didn't suit me. I'm creative, it's just who I am... I missed the positive feedback about my music from my fans.
"I missed the rush of performing. I missed the free clothes and handbags and the good tables in posh restaurants. I did!"
However, the 'Hard Out Here' star - who retired from pop music in 2009 - admits she worried returning to work would cause strain on family life, but is grateful the support of her husband Sam Cooper has made the change easier.
Speaking to the new edition of Britain's Glamour magazine, she added: "I was really worried about working and the pressure it was going to put us under, and it's actually made him more protective and more loving and more caring. He's there for me.
"It was a tough decision to make, a scary adjustment, and for the children. But my relationship with my husband is as strong as it's ever been. It's lovely to come home to."
Lily - whose parents are actor Keith Allen and producer Alison Owen - also admitted she is reluctant for her children to follow in her footsteps.
She said: "If you come from a dysfunctional family like I came from, it's pretty straightforward, that kind of dreaming...
"My parents weren't around much when I was a kid, so that's what you want for your kids, not to have that environment."
The new edition of Glamour magazine is on sale from Monday 5 May.

Keira Knightley: Marriage is ‘alright’

Keira Knightley's marriage is "alright".
The 'Begin Again' actress appeared surprised to learn her and James Righton's wedding anniversary is just a few days away but says all is well in their relationship.
Reminded by E! News that she celebrates a year of marriage on May 4, Keira looked surprised and replied: "Oh yeah, is it?"
She was then asked how the couple's first year as man and wife has been and she replied: "We're still together so it must have been alright."
The 29-year-old beauty admitted her Klaxons musician spouse tried to teach her to play guitar for her role in 'Begin Again', but their lessons didn't go too well and were quickly aborted because she wasn't "very good".
She said: "He tried to teach me how to play the guitar and I tried not to kill him--so that was about it. And he stopped trying to teach me the guitar 'cause I'm not very good at it."
The 'Anna Karenina' actress recently admitted she struggles to stay in touch with her friends and family when working on a film because of her "extreme" lifestyle.
She said: "When I'm not working it's really about seeing as many friends as possible and making sure I'm there in their lives. The way I work is extreme. You can't really have a personal life if you're working on films all the time. There's Skype, but, really, there's just no way of doing it.
"The hours are so long, you're always in a different country, you're always doing a different thing."

Victoria Beckham’s birthday celebrations

Victoria Beckham's friends were left in a "bit of a state" after her birthday party on Saturday (26.04.14).
The fashion designer - who was catapulted to the spotlight as part of the Spice Girls - was joined by friends including her former bandmates Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm at Mayfair's Arts club where they partied till the early hours of the morning after she reached the milestone age on April 17.
And Emma admitted they were all worse for wear after the party, and though she had a good time, her memories of the evening were hazy.
Emma - known as Baby Spice in their heyday - said on Heart FM: "I was in a bit of a state. I don't think I was the worst - that was Mel C.
"I danced a lot, my feet are hurting. And I drank a lot.
"There was food. I had fish and beef. I don't remember that bit much."
Mel C - also known as Sporty Spice - was still feeling the effects of the bash a few days later.
She wrote on Twitter yesterday (28.04.14) afternoon: "If I wasn't still feeling a little bit drunk I wouldn't say this (sic)"
Victoria was also joined by husband David - with whom she has children Brooklyn, 15, Romeo 11, Cruz, nine, and Harper, two - who sported a brown cowboy hat, which Emma nearly lost.
Emma added: "David looked good. I had that cowboy hat on. I nearly lost it. He asked where it was and I had to run around looking for it."
Other guests also included Kelly Hoppen, Guy Ritchie and Claudia Winkleman.

Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult buy first home

Jennifer Lawrence and boyfriend Nicholas Hoult have bought their first home together.
The American actress and her 'X Men' co-star have reportedly bought a house in St John's Wood in north London and will be making their own furniture after purchasing it from flat-pack store Ikea.
According to The Sun newspaper, his sister, Clarista Hoult, said: "It's his first house. He's very excited and has been getting all his furniture from Ikea.
"Nick has been big into feng shui, so in his room he has had branches, twigs with lights, the mattress and everything else on the floor - like water features and chairs - facing in the right direction."
Jennifer, 23, first met Nicholas, 24, on the set of 2011's 'X-Men: First Class' but they later split in January 2013, before getting back together that summer to film the new 'X-Men' movie.
The pair have spent several weeks looking for their perfect home and previously fell in love with a £1.3million home in Hook, a village in Hampshire close to where Nicholas's family live.
An insider previously said: "Jen loves the English way of life and as they are now serious again, it makes sense to look into buying somewhere."
Meanwhile, the couple were seen last week at a friend's house party in Dulwich, south London, as they spend more time together in the capital.
The pair went incognito to try and avoid the paparazzi wearing casual clothing for the low-key evening.

Star Wars cast meet up

The 'Star Wars: Episode VII' cast have met up for the first time.
Director J.J. Abrams hosted a bonding session at upmarket London restaurant 34, where new cast members Adam Driver and Andy Serkis were joined by three familiar faces from the sci-fi franchise, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Peter Mayhew ahead of a planned script read through later this week.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "The cast are being flown out to various locations to film.
"Bosses want to capitalise on them all being in London by booking in a get-together. It was a top secret mission, nobody was allowed to let on they'd be meeting up."
Meanwhile, according to Deadline, 'Inside Llewyn Davis' actor Oscar Isaac is up for a "major" role in the forthcoming film, with Maisie Richardson-Sellers also lined up for a part in the new installment of the sci-fi favourite.
Director Abrams has been trying to keep the names of his cast under wraps, and the eagerly-awaited movie is said to have had Ed Speleers, John Boyega, Jesse Plemons, Matthew James Thomas and Ray Fisher all being considered for roles.
Lupita Nyong'o has also met with Abrams to discuss taking on a female lead in the upcoming sequel after taking Hollywood by storm last year with her impressive performance in Steve McQueen's Oscar-winning '12 Years A Slave'.
'Episode VII', which is set 30 years after 'Return Of The Jedi', will be released on December 18, 2015.

Chris Martin works hard on image

Chris Martin has to "work really hard" not to "be a d**k".
The Coldplay singer admits it can be difficult being an arena rock frontman as "only about 20 other people do" it, and he has relied heavily on "key peers" Bono and Mickael Stipe, from U2 and R.E.M. respectively for advice over the years.
He added: "It does something to your brain which is odd... you have to work really hard not to be a real d**k".
The 'Magic' hitmaker - who split from wife Gwyneth Paltrow last month after 10 years of marriage - doesn't think he is a great lyricist but uses his songwriting as a "diary".
Speaking to BBC Radio 1 DJ Zayn Lowe, he said: "I write music as a diary. I'm never going to be as adept lyrically as Jay Z or Morrissey."
And Chris also insisted he doesn't care what anyone thinks of Coldplay's new album 'Ghost Stories'.
He said: "I don't really mind what anyone says about this album because it's just the truth. It's as true as my nose. Some people have a real problem with my nose, but what can I do?!"

Vicky Pattison regrets Geordie Shore engagement

Vicky Pattison regrets sharing so much of her personal life on 'Geordie Shore'.
The 26-year-old star got engaged to her former fiancé Ricci Guarnaccio on the MTV reality show, but admits if it had been her choice the proposal would have been done privately.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, she said: "Obviously I got engaged on 'Geordie Shore', which was not my choice. I think there are certain things that are better kept personal.
"Engagements, marriages, childbirth - I feel are some of those situations."
The former couple - who split after a number of furious rows - were recently reunited on new MTV reality show 'Ex on the Beach', but Vicky admits they will never be friends because of the way their relationship ended.
She said: "We still hate each other. There's been no love lost between me and Ricci. We're just two of those people who were never meant to be together and I think that had it not been for 'Geordie Shore', we would've broken up long before that and would probably have been quite amicable.
"But because we dragged it out, because there was that real sort of ... that element of just torturing each other, it's left it impossible for us to be friends I think."
Vicky claims she is focusing on herself at the moment, but when it comes to future relationships she won't settle for anything less than true love.
She explained: "I love being in love. I love that feeling of lying in bed with someone and there's nowhere else in the world you'd rather be. That's what I want and I'm not going to settle for any imitations."
'Ex on the Beach' continues tonight (29.04.14) at 10pm on MTV.

Corrie’s Lloyd to change life after heart attack

'Coronation Street's' Lloyd Mullaney will "change his life" after suffering a heart attack.
Actor Craig Charles has revealed his character will see his medical setback as an eye-opener and become more proactive in eating healthy and exercising.
He told ITV's 'Lorraine': "He does have to change his life. Lloyd has to start eating healthy, cutting down on the cigarettes, cutting down on the drinking, [and] going to the gym."
Lloyd also has a new girlfriend, Andrea, played by former 'Emmerdale' star Hayley Tamaddon, but Craig warns that all may not be as it seems between the couple.
He said: "He's got this new girlfriend now, Andrea, and she starts looking after him ... You need to watch that space because Lloyd could easily end up getting his heart broken again. I think there's things afoot there as well."
Craig, 49, admits he was initially shocked when he was told about the heart attack plot as he thought it was the producers' way of telling him he was "fat".
He explained: "Basically it's just the producer telling you that you're getting a bit fat - that's what I thought! I thought, 'Well, after that, I'm going to have to go away and lose some weight!'
"But they had people there who told you how to act while you're having a heart attack and a nurse said that I did very well."

Ed Sheeran: I don’t worry about becoming a fat slob

Ed Sheeran isn't worried about becoming a "fat slob" because his records aren't sold on his looks.
The 'Sing' hitmaker, who will release his second album 'x' later this year, believes his appearance has nothing to do with his success and feels he doesn't have to watch his weight.
He said: "I don't think I've ever sold records based on my looks, which is positive, 'cos it means that even if I do become a fat slob when I'm older, it won't matter."
New track 'Take It Back' features lyrics about his looks, with the lines: "I don't ever want to be perfect, 'cause I'm a singer that you never want to see shirtless."
He also seemingly makes reference to a sexual encounter with a fellow star, singing: "Sleeping with a movie star and adding to the population," but refused to name the famous woman.
Ed told the new issue of Q Magazine: "I'm British so I have to be a gentleman in these situations and not say any names."
The 23-year-old singer jokingly added: "But you know what? I spent a year in America and did what any young lad would, which is experience Hollywood life. I think it's the best way to put it..."
Ed's success in America has seen him work with Pharrell Williams on tracks and Rick Rubin, who produced his new record, the follow-up to his debut '+'.
He added: "I wanted to take full advantage of the opportunities that were given to me from the doors opened by the American success."

Toby Kebbell lied about ‘dentist appointment’ for audition

Toby Kebbell told his employers he had a dentist appointment when he needed time off to audition for 'Dawn of the Planet Apes'.
The 31-year-old star plays Koba in the forthcoming sci-fi film and he lied to get out of the work when he was starring in a three-part drama to make sure he was able to meet Andy Serkis who plays Caesar.
He told collider.com: "I was a massive fan of the first one. I was working in London, and I got an audition for it so I had to pretend I had an dentist appointment to come to the audition cos I was playing a lead on a three part drama. So I pretend I had a dentist appointment and I met Andy, I was very nervous, because he's awesome."
Although Kebbell doesn't know what made Serkis pick him he is thankful for the opportunity.
He added: "And we went to his place in London called Imaginarium, where we did a screen test. A kind of motion capture screen test. We put on a suit, and I did two scenes with Andy. Sort of short you know, basically, wasn't ... I have no class but for some reason, he thought I would be fun to work with. So yeah I was blessed."

Damon Albarn read Buddhism books

Damon Albarn read books on Buddhism when he was bullied at school.
The Blur frontman's family moved house from Leytonstone, east London, to rural Essex, south east England, when he was aged nine and after being enrolled into a new school he felt like he didn't fit in.
The 46-year-old star read literature by German poet and novelist, Hermann Hesse and "various books on Buddhism" as well as trying to find solace in the countryside where he would search "interesting trees where I could make little shrines", reports The Observer newspaper.
Damon insists his childhood inspired his latest album, 'Everyday Robots', which reflects how he got to where he is now.
Talking to The New Review, he added: "I definitely delved into that period in my childhood for the new album. I honestly think it's what set me up to be the person I am now. It's me saying 'This is where I come from and how I got to be who I am."

Jamie Bell: Evan Rachel Wood loves my accent

Jamie Bell says Evan Rachel Wood loves his accent.
The Durham-born star, who rose to fame aged 14 playing ballet-loving teen Billy Elliot, admits his wife was initially attracted to his English lilt and is a big fan of all things British.
He said: "Apparently she likes the accent. The food too, which is surprising. She likes a lot of the pickled things - well, she did when she was pregnant anyway. She'd been going to England in her own right long before she met me."
The couple, who wed in 2012, welcomed a son last July and have been taking it in turns to look after the baby while the other works because 'Thirteen' actress Evan has no plans to be a stay-at-home mum.
Jamie told the new UK issue of HELLO magazine: "There will never be a version of Evan Rachel Wood where's a stay-at-home mum. That's just not going to happen. We are both working actors and now that we are parents, we are both going to continue to be working actors and work it out."
The 28-year-old actor manages to maintain a normal life unlike many of his peers and is glad he doesn't often get recognised in public.
He added: "It's not too bad for me - I have friends who are much more publically known than I am, who, when I'm checking out groceries at the grocery store, I am literally read in what they did last night in the headlines of the papers. I don't have it anything near as bad.
"Okay, sometimes I'll go to Starbucks to get a coffee and someone will say, 'Hey, it's you', and I'll say, 'How's it going'. But that's no big deal. I have a great life, to be honest."
