Cher Lloyd has taken up knitting.
The 20-year-old singer, who has been on a two year hiatus after achieving success in America, has been spending her spare time creating knitted scarves.
Speaking to Heat radio after her set at the Isle of Wight Festival, she said: "I've recently taken up knitting. I knit scarves and blankets but that's as far as I'm at as the patterns are confusing me. I knit, I watch 'EastEnders' and do my knitting ... it's relaxing."
The 'I Wish' star admits she didn't initially plan to take so much time out of the industry but felt she had a lot of maturing to do after finding success on ITV talent show 'The X Factor' in 2010.
She said: "I've been away two years and I'm a new person. I packed my bag for two weeks but have come back two years later.
"I realised I had a lot of growing up to do, and it's the best thing I could have done. I needed to do a lot of growing up ... I was a brat when I was on 'The X Factor'. I was a teenager with all those hormones going on but I was doing it in front of millions."
She added: "Everyone had an opinion [about me], I've even annoyed myself. I'm back and I'm better now."
Cher is going head-to-head in a chart battle with 'X Factor' mentor Cheryl Cole with her new single 'Sirens' out on July 20, the same day as Cheryl releases 'Crazy Stupid Love'.
Cher said: "I didn't realise it was out on the same day. She was my 'X Factor' mentor! I cannot think of a better person to ask for advice now we are back.
"We're not in touch but I would like to speak to her. We had an amazing experience together, I hope she feels the same."
Cher is also glad to see Cheryl back on 'The X Factor' panel with Simon Cowell and admits she would like to meet up with her record label boss.
She added: "Not over dinner though, that's too formal. That's not me. Despite the rumours ... I'm still signed to Syco!"

'Coronation Street's Gary Windass is to have an affair with newcomer Alya Nazir.
The builder - played by Mikey North - is set to cheat on his girlfriend Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston) after he finds himself in bed with the beautiful receptionist (Sair Khan) following a boozy night out.
However, the flame-haired hunk's world will come crashing down when he discovers his one night stand actually lives on the cobbles and is the daughter of gym instructor Kal Nazir (Jimi Mistry).
Gary begs Alya to keep his dirty little secret under wraps, but she threatens to expose his naughty antics to wheelchair-bound Izzy, who is also the mother of his infant son Jake.
In scenes to be screened later this month, Gary pleads: "Please don't tell anyone about last night. I messed up. She's not my wife, but I have never cheated on her before. I really regret it."
However, feisty Alya leaves Gary fearing the future of his relationship after she snaps back: "The mother of your child? Who is lovely, by the way. Why didn't you tell me about her last night? Slipped your mind, did it? You wanted to get me into bed. Mentioning her and your child might have spoiled your plans.
"You really know how to make a girl feel special. Izzy deserves to know about the sleaze-ball she's going out with."
Meanwhile, newcomer Sair's sexy storyline meant she was forced to lock lips with Mikey on the second day of filming on the ITV soap, but she insists her co-star made her feel totally at ease.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: "It was really surreal, such an odd experience. But Mikey was great and helped me out."

L'Wren Scott's sister has blasted Sir Mick Jagger for being "grotesquely disrespectful".
Jan Shane is furious with the Rolling Stones rocker after it emerged he met his new lover Melanie Hamrick - who he was pictured embracing on a hotel balcony in Zurich, Switzerland, on June 1 - weeks before the fashion designer's suicide in March, and she is now convinced his womanising played a "bigger part" of her younger sibling's problems.
Jan said: "The more I think about it, the angrier it makes me. My sister deserves more respect.
"It hasn't even been three months since she died. I now believe that he was a bigger part of her troubles than we knew about.
"It doesn't surprise me at all. I'm just really glad that L'Wren doesn't have to put up with him any more."
Jan, 53, went on to slam the 'Paint It Black' star's "sad" antics and the speed in which he has moved on from his later partner of 13 years.
She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "My sister deserved so much more than that. It's a terrible thing for Mick to have done. It's sad. His life goes on as if nothing happened. He's still out with women, but a huge part of our family is missing.
"She had accomplished so much without him. She was amazing in so many people's eyes. He just needs to quit dragging her name through his c**p!"
It was revealed yesterday (15.06.14) that Mick, 70, met Melanie backstage at one of his gigs in Tokyo, Japan, on March 6 - just 11 days before L'Wren hanged herself in her New York home.
Insiders say the rocker made a "beeline" for their dancer - who was previously engaged to a man 20 years older than her - but they did not "consummate their friendship" until the recent trip to Zurich.
Mick - who has seven children from previous relationships - spent Father's Day yesterday in Vienna, Austria, with some of his children and ex-wife Jerry Hall.

Niall Horan is "pretty taken" with model Thalia Heffernan.
The One Direction star reportedly shared a kiss with the 19-year-old beauty when he returned to Ireland last month and the pair are desperate to find the time in their busy schedules to meet again.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Thalia is a really gorgeous girl inside and out. Niall is pretty taken with her. They are still in touch and get on really well.
"Niall's never in one place for long and Thalia travels the world modelling so it will be a case of whenever they can manage it."
And meeting up may not be easy for the pair as 20-year-old Niall - who has previously been romantically linked with singer Ellie Goulding, model Barbara Palvin and reality TV star Louise Thompson - is busy with One Direction's 'Where We Are' world tour, while Thalia recently revealed plans to spend the next few months in Australia.
She said: "There has been a lot of interest and I am going to try it out and see how it goes.
"I have just booked my flights for June 23. I am going on my own so it will be tough but I am very excited.

Melanie Griffith wants custody of the three dogs she shared with Antonio Banderas.
The 56-year-old actress filed for divorce from her husband after 18 years of marriage last week, citing irreconcilable differences, and though custody of their 17-year-old daughter Stella is unlikely to be an issue as she turns 18 in September, the 'Working Girl' star is anxious that their settlement allows her to keep the one terrier mix and two shepherd lab mixes they adopted last February.
A source told website TMZ: "Melanie is the better dog owner between herself and Antonio ... and the pooches mean the world to her."
It was recently claimed friends of the former couple were shocked by their split as they have always been able to work through their problems in the past.
One source said: "They've been down this road before and had their ups and downs, but I never thought it would actually happen."
But another insider added: "They have had issues for years. The fights and separations got to be too much. There were fewer happy moments."
Despite going their separate ways, the duo are still on good terms and optimistic about the future.
A friend close to Melanie said: "Simply put, I think life took a toll on them. But they will be the first to say they had a good run."

Kris Jenner is reportedly furious after Kanye West refused to sell his wedding pictures.
The 'Bound 2' rapper and his new wife Kim Kardashian - with who he has 12-month-old daughter North - were offered over $11 million to publish pictures of their nuptials in Florence, Italy, last month in publications across the globe, but decided to keep the rights and control of the images themselves, much to the unhappiness of the showbiz matriarch, who, as her daughter's manager, would have gained a percentage of sales for herself.
A source told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "Kris was none too happy.
"Kanye is taking a page from Jay Z and Beyonce, who own their photos."
Another source admitted Kris had nothing to do with Kim's decision to refuse all offers for the photographs, which she and Kanye have opted to release themselves through their social media accounts.
The source said: "These are Kim's wedding pictures. Kim and Kanye were getting offers for money, and they decided with their teams not to take any."
As well as maintaining control, the couple are said to have decided against selling the pictures as they wanted to differentiate their nuptials from Kim's wedding to Kris Humphries in August 2011, for which her mother negotiated a deal which saw People magazine pay a reported $1.5 million for the wedding pictures, plus $300,000 for their engagement.

George Clooney wants to run for Governor of California.
The 53-year-old actor is aiming to follow in the footsteps of former Republican Governor and Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger by joining the 2018 race with the Democratic Party.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "George is hugely popular with Democrats and where better to be than Governor of California, home of Hollywood?
"It has always been a huge stronghold for the party and one that has a proven record for getting politicians into the Oval office."
George reportedly plans to launch his political career after tying the knot with British lawyer Amal Alamuddin, 36, in September, and has turned down a number of film projects so he can run for office.
Amal, who works as a human rights barrister in London, is said to be keen to continue her career in the city but would consider moving to America to support George.
The 'Gravity' actor is good friends with President Barack Obama and was recently his guest at a private screening for his latest movie 'The Monuments Men' at the White House.
If George went on to win the 2020 race for the Presidency, Amal could become the first British woman to be First Lady and George would follow in Ronald Reagan's footsteps, who went from being a movie idol to Governor to President.
Meanwhile, George and Amal are said to be looking at wedding venues and would love to marry in Venice, Italy later this year.

Richie Sambora has two women fighting over him.
The 54-year-old former Bon Jovi guitarist is said to have secretly been in an on/off relationship with Nikki Lund, 32, his partner in the Nikki Rich fashion line, for the last six years, but is now smitten with musician Orianthi Panagaris, 29, after meeting her at a party in Hawaii in December.
A source told the New York Daily News newspaper's Confidenti@l column: "Richie told people that as soon as he met Ori, something sparked. It's like he's reclaiming his youth with her. He's besotted."
Richie is currently touring Europe with Orianthi - who played guitar on Michael Jackson's final tour - and Nikki is said to be growing increasingly frustrated that he is neglecting their empire.
The source said: "Nikki's concern is the business. It seems like since he met Ori, Nikki Rich isn't his priority. Basically, Richie's away rocking in Europe with Ori while Nikki's left running the business singlehandedly."
Last month, Nikki hit out at her would-be love rival on Twitter.
In a post she later deleted, she wrote: "Kinda sick of @orianthi & her BAD hair extensions. Lol. Yeah I said it ... Yeeehawwww!!! (sic)"
She later added: "I stand by my tweet last night as I'm sad certain parties involved are trying to harm my working relationship w/my business partner. #enough. (sic)"
The former Bon Jovi guitarist - who has 17-year-old daughter Ava with ex-wife Heather Locklear - is said to be torn between his professional relationship with Nikki and her romance with Orianthi.
His spokesperson said only: "While I do not comment on our clients' personal lives, I can tell you that Richie has an incredibly strong and steadfast work ethic. He is very excited about his artistic collaboration with Ori, and is deeply committed to his musical career, fashion company and of course his family."

Leonardo DiCaprio partied with 50 women in Brazil.
The 'Wolf of Wall Street' actor - who is in South America watching soccer's World Cup tournament - reportedly hired out Pacha nightclub in Buzios on Thursday (12.06.14), where he was joined by 30 females who were flown in and given accommodation at his expense, and another 50 ladies who live in the wealthy tourist resort.
A source said: "Leo had bottles and bottles of Dom Perignon champagne going around.
"He really had gone all out on it and spared no expense. It was a really lavish party.
"Some of the girls taught him a dance to Valesca Popozuda's hit Bejinho no Ombro - 'Little Kiss on the Shoulder' - and he loved it so much he kept asking the DJ to play it again and again.
"He didn't really cosy up to any one girl in particular. He was really sociable and kept wandering from one woman to the next.
"He seemed keen to have a good time with all of them."
After the club closed, the partying continued for the 39-year-old star - who has been dating lingerie model Toni Garrn for a year - and he took some of his group, including former Brazilian 'Big Brother' star Marien Carretero and Playboy model Mari Silvestre, back to his lavish yacht to continue the festivities, which went on until the following evening.
The source added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "At 4am he took some of the girls back to his borrowed £400million superyacht which was anchored nearby. They were still partying at 6pm on Saturday evening."
The luxury yacht boasts eight floors, three pools and even two helipads.

Jamie Lynn Spears has revealed her father is always embarrassing her.
The 23-year-old country star - who married her businessman boyfriend Jamie Watson of over three years earlier this year - claims her father, Jamie Spears, has embarrassed her so many times throughout her life that she's lost count.
Quizzed on whether he'd ever done anything really humiliating, Jamie told Taste of Country: "He's done too many embarrassing things. I can't really name them all.
"One time we were working together, I was working with a band and he asked them if he could take some extra time afterwards so that he could learn how to karaoke the song 'Colder Weather' because he wanted to sing it at the dirt-bike races."
When asked whether her dad - who has previously acted as Jamie's older sister Britney's manager - was a good singer, she added: "He's not horrible, but he definitely shouldn't be singing in front of a crowd."
Jamie recently admitted that Britney - who is nine years older than her at 32-years-old - was like a "second mom" to her while they were growing up.
The 'How Could I Want More' singer - who has a five-year-old daughter Maddie, from her relationship with Casey Aldridge - said: "There's such a big age difference between me and my sister that I think [she] was almost like a second mom.
"She's so supportive and she's so encouraging of me and she's like my biggest fan ... She's always had my back."

Taylor Momsen wants to settle down and have children.
The Pretty Reckless singer - who performed at the this year's Isle of Wight Festival on Saturday (14.06.14) - wants to get married and start a family in the future but is waiting for the "perfect person".
She told the Metro newspaper: "One day I'd love to have children and get married. It would have to be the perfect person. I don't know who that will be."
She added: "At the moment I'm married to my guitar and my notebook."
Taylor is well known for playing Jenny Humphrey in the TV series 'Gossip Girl', but she insists she is in no rush to return to return to acting as she is fully focused on her music.
The 20-year-old star said: "Acting's not something I'm pursuing. Who knows if I will ever act again, but I will be making records forever."
Taylor - who released her second studio album 'Going to Hell' earlier this year has previously spoken of her difficult transition from a young actor to successful rock star.
She said: "In the beginning, it definitely took a minute for people to listen to the music and get over the age factor and the fact that I had previously acted.
"But now the fans really like the music, it's about writing a good song and connecting with people. It seems to be working ... they know every word to every song at every show. It's pretty f***ing awesome."

Justin Bieber will reportedly be charged with criminal vandalism after he allegedly egged his neighbour's house in January.
The 20-year-old singer was accused of causing more than $20,000 worth of damage after he pelted eggs at a fellow resident's home in Calabasas, California, earlier this year, and it is now believed he will be charged with the crime later this week, according to TMZ.com.
It is not yet known whether the troubled star will face misdemeanour or felony charges, but a senior officer investigating the case believes Justin deserves the harshest punishment available for vandalism.
Dave Thompson said: "I led a team of people into a house where there's armed security. I wouldn't have done that if this was just a misdemeanor case."
In California, a misdemeanour vandalism charge carries up to a one-year imprisonment and a maximum $10,000 fine if convicted.
However, a felony charge carries heftier consequences and the 'Baby' hitmaker - who was allegedly captured on camera committing the crime - could face up to three years in prison, a penalty of up to $50,000, and probation if he is found guilty.
Meanwhile, this isn't Justin's only legal battle as he will reportedly plead guilty to reckless driving later this week following his arrest in January for allegedly drag racing in Malibu.
