Susan Sarandon peer pressured into Tammy role

Susan Sarandon claims she was peer pressured into starring in 'Tammy'.
The 67-year-old actress plays the alcoholic grandmother of 'Bridesmaids' star Melissa McCarthy's character in the comedy, which marks Ben Falcone's directorial debut, and she's confessed she was sceptical about how she'd fit into the project.
She explained: "Ben and Melissa called me and prepared me for the script. I read the script and didn't understand what reality we would be in and so we had another call.
"Then Mark Duplass called me, I didn't even know he was going to be in the movie, it was a conspiracy. He said you have to do this, you have to do this, they're such great people.
"So peer pressure got to me and I thought, I'll jump."
'Tammy' tells the story of a woman - played by McCarthy - who, after losing her job, husband and car in one day, decides to escape from her small town existence, but with no form of transport is forced to take her hard partying grandmother Pearl along for the ride.
The 43-year-old comedienne admits Sarandon was worried she was expecting her to play a traditional grandmother, but insists once they'd clarified that wasn't the case, she was more than happy to join the cast.
McCarthy told Latino Review: "One of the first questions when we were talking on the phone was, 'Are you seeing a little old granny with glasses and a knitted sweater and an up do bun?'
"We were like oh God no she's a raging alcoholic and she sleeps around. Then Susan was like OK we'll be fine."

Kim Kardashian’s ‘racist trip from hell’ to Austria

Kim Kardashian has branded her visit to Austria the "trip from hell".
The 33-year-old beauty, who is married to rapper Kanye West, was left reeling when a white male reporter donned 'blackface' - the act of sporting dark coloured make-up to portray a black person - and claimed, "It's me, Kanye!"
Kim and mother Kris Jenner, 58, expressed their outrage over the trip - which occurred in February - in the latest episode of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' last night (29.06.14).
The reality star said: "I can't believe there's this guy is in blackface. I don't get why him or anyone else would find this funny."
Kim added to her mother: "This is just a sick joke."
The brunette beauty also appeared to take offence to an interviewer who referred to Kanye's song with Jay Z, 'N****s in Paris', at the Vienna Ball, claiming: "Yeah, we're going to dance. We wait for 'N****s in Vienna'."
Kim commented: "Did he say what I think he just said?"
An incensed Kris said: "I get that he's a comedian but clearly, that was incredibly inappropriate. We just need to get the hell out of here."
Kris later fumed she had "never been as disrespected as a woman or a human being in my life".
The mother-of-five - who also had some of her belongings stolen - continued: "I come to Vienna and everything I had that's valuable is stolen out of my suitcase and this man treats Kim with such disrespect. That's not where we come from, my children are taught to treat people with respect ... I feel like I let my daughter down by allowing her to even experience this nonsense."
Speaking to her sister Khloe Kardashian, 30, upon their return home, Kim branded the visit the "trip from hell", adding: "It was so racist."
The star also recalled a harrowing experience on the plane home when a fellow traveller verbally berated her for dating a black man and having a biracial child, 12-month-old daughter North.
Kim recalled: "[She said] 'She has a sex video with a black guy...' going on and on. And then the pilot had to come out, the captain, everyone ... they're all, 'We're going to call the LAPD the second we land.' Her husband sat on her [and told her], 'Shut the f**k up.' "

Robret Downey Jr’s son arrested

Robert Downey Jr.'s son was arrested yesterday (29.06.14).
The 'Iron Man 3' actor's oldest child Indio, 20, was arrested in West Hollywood when police noticed he was smoking something out of a pipe in a vehicle he was passenger in.
After a Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy pulled the car over, they allegedly found cocaine in Indio's possession.
Indio - whose mother is the actor-s ex-wife Deborah Falconer - was booked for possession of cocaine and released from jail just after midnight after posting $10,000 bail.
The 'Sherlock Holmes' actor - who also has a two-year-old son Exton with wife Susan Levin - previously battled drug addiction himself and was arrested numerous times in the 1990s on drug-related charges.
Downey has previously spoken of how he felt "safe" in prison.
He said: "When the door clicks shut, then you are safe. There is nothing aside from a rogue correctional officer that can do you harm if you have the right cellie. You are actually in the safest place on Earth. Safe from the intruders. From anything that might thwart the mortal coil."

Monty Python Live to feature Stephen Hawking cameo

'Monty Python Live (Mostly): One Down, Five To Go' will feature a cameo from Stephen Hawking.
One of the surprises planned for the iconic comedy troupe's final hurrah, which kicks off tomorrow night (01.07.14) at London's O2 Arena with the first of 10 live shows, is a special appearance from the pioneering scientist.
Eric Idle explained: "It would be folly to try and switch it up and do something else at this age. But we've changed it up a bit and put some surprises in. Stephen Hawking is in the show and is coming to the performance too. He was asked and within one minute, he said yes!"
The gang are performing together for the first time in 40 years, without sixth Python Graham Chapman, who died of cancer in 1989, and hinted there will be plenty more surprise cameos in store for fans.
Michael Palin teased: "We might have certain celebrities... There's a sketch which has potential [famous guests] in depending on who turns up on the night."
Meanwhile, John Cleese revealed David Walliams will be on hand to host an unconventional red carpet for fans during the final ever 'The Last Night Of The Pythons' show, which will be broadcast in 1800 cinemas around the world and be shown live on UKTV Gold.
He said: "A lot of Python fans like to get dressed up in silly costumes, at the O2 there'll be the 'dead carpet' where people can come and be interviewed. David Walliams is broadcasting that on the last night. It's like a crazy party!"
Legions of comedy fans the world over will be disappointed to hear the July 20 show is definitely the last.
John added: "It really is the last show and I think we all feel very content with it... I certainly thought it might be fun to go and do America, but the more I thought about it the more I didn't really want to.
"I think it's much better to do it really well once in England, where it started, and leave it at that."
Eric concluded: "It's exciting to be able to say goodbye publicly in one show, that's really exciting. The Beatles didn't get a chance to do that. I think that's rather lovely, I'm very grateful it's come to be."
Michael, John and Eric were joined by Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam at a press conference announcing the biggest live event of 2014. New tickets go on sale tomorrow, while today sees the release of the complete collection of all nine albums, 'Monty Python's Total Rubbish', by Virgin EMI Records.
