Kellie Bright couldn’t ask for better TV husband

Kellie Bright "couldn't ask for a better TV husband" than Danny Dyer.
The 'EastEnders' actress, who plays Linda Carter, has heaped praise on her on-screen husband and says Danny is "ten million times nicer" than she thought he would be.
She explained: "We'd never met before we started at 'EastEnders'. We'd never even read together at an audition and we're very different people. I said to him the other day that, on paper, you'd think we wouldn't work, and yet it works so well.
"He's ten million times nicer, funnier and more lovely than I ever thought he was going to be. I couldn't have asked for a better TV husband. He's very inclusive of everybody on set."
Kellie admits she expected Danny, who was known for his hard-man movie roles prior to joining the show as Mick Carter, to be "arrogant or cocky" before they met.
She added: "I'd never come across anyone who'd said he was horrible or up himself, so I didn't expect him to be an ogre. But I thought he might be a little bit arrogant or cocky. So many actors are selfish and self-centred, but he's just not."
The 37-year-old star, who joined 'EastEnders' with Danny and their on-screen children Maddy Hill (Nancy Carter) and Sam Strike (Johnny Carter) last Christmas, also expressed her hope that Linda and Mick remain faithful to each other unlike many other soap favourites.
Kellie told Radio Times magazine: "Danny and I would really fight for them to stay faithful. We're both absolutely adamant that that's how we want it to be. If either Mick or Linda had an affair, it would be a cop-out."

Matt Smith: My Doctor would have become ‘meaner’

Matt Smith would have become "meaner" had he stayed on 'Doctor Who'.
The 31-year-old star, who bowed out of the titular role in the BBC sci-fi drama last Christmas, feels his incarnation of the Time Lord would have taken a darker path if he was still on the show.
Speaking at Wizard World Comic Con in Philadelphia over the weekend, he said: "If my Doctor had carried on he'd have become a bit meaner and a bit tougher. The universe would have weighed on his shoulders a little more which would have been cool."
Appearing intrigued by the idea of a darker Doctor, Matt quipped: "Damn, I should have stayed!"
Matt was reunited with his former co-star Karen Gillan, 26, during a fan panel at the event and the pair teased fans by hinting they may work together again in an adaptation of Shakespeare play 'Macbeth'.
Quizzed if he's ever played a Shakespeare character, Matt said: "I'd like to one day. I'd quite like to play Macbeth."
Karen added: "I want to play Lady Macbeth."
The flame-haired beauty's response prompted Matt to suggest: "Shall we do that together?"
The new series of 'Doctor Who', meanwhile, is currently filming and marks Peter Capaldi's debut as the Time Lord, taking over from Matt.
'Doctor Who' series eight is due to air in August.

Channing Tatum dislikes wife’s sex scenes

Channing Tatum doesn't like his wife filming sex scenes.
The 'Magic Mike' star is uncomfortable with the idea of Jenna Dewan-Tatum - with who he has 12-month-old daughter Everly - getting close to her male co-stars on 'The Witches of East End' but she thinks it would be "weird" if he felt any other way.
Asked if it was true her spouse "doesn't like her having sex scenes with other men" on TV, she said: "So true."
She added: "It'd be weird if he was like, 'Ah, I'm cool with it, do whatever,' you know?
"It's never fun [shooting love scenes], but you just get really used to it, it's weird."
And the 33-year-old actress admits shooting the scenes are even more "weird" because she and her spouse are so close to the rest of the cast on the show.
She told E! News: "We're all friends, this whole cast, we hang out all the time.
"They are, like, really good friends, so it's even more awkward. 'Yeah, we have this love scene, but we were just hangin' with our wives and husbands...' It's acting, you know--it's weird."
However, Jenna insists her 34-year-old husband - who she met on the set of their 2006 movie 'Step Up' - has nothing to worry about when it comes to her male co-stars.
She added "I've kind of got the best at home."

Taylor Schilling’s ‘painful’ school days

Taylor Schilling had a "painful" time at school.
The 'Orange is the New Black' actress was singled out by her classmates because of her appearance and admits she found growing up "tough".
She said: It was tough at home, and it was tough at school... And my experience was painful, so painful. There was a period of time I had very short hair, and I had glasses, and I was very tall for my age."
These days, the 29-year-old star is more comfortable with herself, and is happy not to feel "bound" by her appearance and thinks she has better things to "offer the world" than her looks.
She said: "I don't feel bound by my face or my body. I don't feel like that's the biggest gift I have to offer the world. I feel like there are more parts of me to offer than that."
Taylor plays incarcerated Piper Chapman in 'Orange is the New Black' and finds the role "liberating" because she wears a prison-issue orange jumpsuit for most of her scenes.
She explained to the new edition of Allure magazine: "It's totally liberating. There's freedom in not having to make it about how my jeans fit or what my boobs look like in a top. All I have to do now is play."

Dolly Parton: I look like hell without make-up

Dolly Parton claims she looks "like hell" without make-up.
The '9 to 5' hitmaker, who is known for her big hair and extensive use of cosmetics, admits she's not a natural beauty and understands what people expect her to look like on stage.
She told Radio Times magazine: "If somebody says, 'What do you look like without that make-up?, I say, 'I look like hell!' But that's OK, who doesn't? I'm not a natural beauty, that's one of the reasons I'm over-exaggerated.
"I feel better when I put on a little make-up - I don't like looking in the mirror and thinking, 'Who the hell's that old ugly woman?'"
The 68-year-old star insists she doesn't feel like "two Dollys" both on and off stage but she likes to look her best for her fans and for her friends and family.
She explained: "I'm always Dolly, because my heart is always the same, my head is always the same. And my look came from a very serious place. I wouldn't dream of going out like some of the artists do, come into a meet-and-greet with hair rollers and Clearasil on my face."
Even when Dolly is at home with her husband of 48 years, Carl Dean, she still puts on some make-up and uses a few hot rollers in her hair.
She said: "I don't want to look like a slouch with him. I'm not two different people, but I am responsible for the persona of the person that you know as Dolly Parton. I know what people expect me to look like. But I can also go home, take off all of this junk, and still be the same person."

John Cleese: James Bond ‘gritty and humourless’

John Cleese thinks the latest 'James Bond' films have a "fundamental flaw".
The 'Monty Python' star - who played gadget maker Q in 1999's 'The World Is Not Enough' and 2002's 'Die Another Day' - thinks the directors of more recent Bond films have compromised tradition in favour of attracting wider audiences.
He said: "I did two James Bond movies and then I believe that they decided that the tone they needed was that of the 'Bourne' action movies, which are very gritty and humourless.
"Also the big money was coming from Asia, from the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, where the audiences go to watch the action sequences, and that's why in my opinion the action sequences go on for too long, and it's a fundamental flaw."
The 74-year-old funny-man - who was replaced by 33-year-old Ben Whishaw as Q in 2012's 'Skyfall' - is glad that Bond filmmakers have maintained the comedy undertones of the films, however, despite them not attracting the Asian market.
Cleese told the Radio Times magazine: "The audiences in Asia are not going [to see the movies] for the subtle British humour or the class jokes."

Harrison Ford’s injury to delay Star Wars release?

Harrison Ford's injury will reportedly delay the release of 'Star Wars: Episode VII'.
The 71-year-old actor - who plays Han Solo in the Disney sci-fi franchise - was airlifted to hospital last week after he was crushed by a hydraulic door at the Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, south east England during filming.
Although it was initially reported that he'd broken his ankle it was later confirmed that he had In fact broken his leg but had undergone successful surgery and was set to begin eight weeks of rehabilitation treatment.
And despite Disney claiming they are still on track to release the film - which also stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Oscar Isaac and Lupita Nyong'o - on time, it's rumoured the severity of Ford's injury has forced filmmakers to discuss pushing back production by a significant amount of time, Jedi News reports.
A meeting is said to have taken place at Pinewood yesterday (23.06.14) but no announcement has so far been made by Lucasfilm, Bad Robot or Disney and therefore the scheduled release date for 'Star Wars: Episode VII' remains to be in December 2015.
Meanwhile, Tom Cruise is said to be in talks with the film's director J.J. Abrams - who directed him in the 'Mission Impossible' movies - about a cameo .
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Tom has been in London for over a week and met up with J.J. and some other people from 'Star Wars' at the weekend.
"On Saturday evening five of them met up for dinner and drinks at the Belgravia Hotel. J.J loves working with Tom whenever he gets the chance."

Sir Cliff Richard has vowed to break America - aged 73.
The music icon - who has sold more than 250 million records around the globe - admits he still dreams of topping the US charts, which is one of the few things he has yet to achieve in an illustrious career spanning six decades.
He said: "It's still feasible that at my age, I could find a niche in America. Not only am I still alive, I can still do it."
He added of missing out on a US number one: "How did I miss this?"
Meanwhile, Cliff would love to collaborate with top British boy band One Direction, who have cracked America with three number one albums.

The 'Living Doll' singer staged a free concert in New York over the weekend for his US fans after Irish star Morrissey cancelled their joint gig due to poor health.
A note posted on his website said: "Cliff and the CRO (Cliff Richard Organisation) are very disappointed to confirm that Morrissey has just cancelled the remaining dates on his tour, including the Barclay Center, Brooklyn, NYC on 21st June 2014 where Cliff was to perform as Morrissey's Special Guest.

Simon Cowell buys New York home

Simon Cowell has splashed out over $10 million on a New York apartment.
The music mogul and girlfriend Lauren Silverman - who have four-month-old son Eric together - have closed a deal on a luxury three-bedroom apartment on East 78th Street, close to the Upper East Side neighbourhood where the socialite's other son Adam, seven, lives with his father Andrew Silverman.
It is unclear which apartment in the building the couple bought, but a three-bedroom property was recently listed at $10.8 million.
A source told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "They wanted to be on the Upper East Side, and they love modern and new."
The couple have been househunting for several months and the property they have bought is said to be very similar to the $25,000-a-month home Simon rented for Lauren, 37, when she was pregnant.
With the 54-year-old star recently returning to the judging panel on the UK's 'X Factor', it is expected the couple plan to divide their time between New York and London.
Simon recently admitted he intends for his young son to follow in his business footsteps and run his empire when he is older.
He said: "In all seriousness, he's going to do what I do. In time he's going to inherit my business. That's certainly the plan."
