Lorde bothered by ghost

Lorde claims her recording sessions are being plagued by ghosts.
The 'Royals' hitmaker is currently working on her second album but called a halt to production after strange noises kept showing up when she listened back to her music.
She tweeted: "ghosts in the studio don't want us to record tonight, they leaving their ghost hum on everything. buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (sic)"
Lorde recently revealed her new material will be "totally different" to the tracks on her debut, 2013's 'Pure Heroine'.
She said: "I think I've learnt so much as a songwriter, there's going to be so much of an improvement because of that.
"I'm working on stuff quite tentatively, it's definitely still at the beginning and yeah, it's totally different. I wrote the last album about that world which was the suburb where I grew up and populated by my friends and people who were really familiar to me. Now I'm in a different place every day and I'm with new people every day and it's a different vibe."
The 17-year-old star has also admitted she is unsure she will still be popular in years to come.
She said: "Since I started making music, a lot was made of how old I was and it made me think about, what happens when I'm 25? Will people still like what I'm doing? Will it still be important if I'm not this hyper-youthful being?
"It's stupid, I know I'm being silly, but I can't help it. It's just one of those things. I'll get over it."

Ronnie Wood’s baby grandson attends gig

Ronnie Wood's five-week-old grandson has already seen the Rolling Stones play.
The 'Paint it Black' rocker's daughter Leah and her husband Jack MacDonald took baby Otis - who was born on May 26 - to see his band perform at their huge outdoor show at Rome's Circus Maximus recently and are hoping the tot will be proud of the meeting in years to come.
Jack said: "If people ask him what his first gig was he'll be able to say, 'The Stones at Circus Maximus', so he wins."
The gig also marked the first time Ronnie's ex-wife Jo has seen the group perform since she divorced the rocker in 2009, but she insists she gets on well with her former spouse.
She told the new issue of Britain's HELLO! magazine: "I just wanted to look after Otis. I didn't want to see a show again. 'Patti, Keith [Richards'] wife, invited me because there's none of the old girl gang there any more.
"It did feel weird to go to a show but you know, Ronnie and I get on great."
Ahead of her due date, Leah - who also has five-year-old daughter Maggie with Jack - had been to see her dad rehearse and his bandmate did his best to help her pregnancy move along.
She explained: "Keith said, 'Sit on the bass speaker' and make Darryl [Jones] play and it'll come out. Get some towels and hot water ready.' "

Douglas Booth praises ‘great dancer’ Laura Whitmore

Douglas Booth thinks Laura Whitmore is a "great dancer".
The 'Noah' star set tongues wagging after being seen partying at Glastonbury festival this weekend with the TV presenter, dancing the night away in the hospitality area.
A source claimed the pair only had eyes for each other and Laura kept dragging him up to the dance floor to show off her sexy moves.
However, Douglas told BANG Showbiz: "She's a great dancer and a really nice girl. We had a great night but we are just good friends."
The pair, who first got to know each other at a BAFTA after party, were dancing while Laura's rumoured ex-boyfriend Paolo Nutini played on The Other Stage.
Douglas said he'd had a memorable time at the festival at Worthy Farm in Somerset but he seemed a little disappointed his friend Miley Cyrus hadn't performed her rumoured duet with godmother Dolly Parton on the Pyramid Stage.
He added: "I didn't think she'd be in the country but it would have been great if she'd been here. I'd have been annoyed if she hadn't have texted me."

Beyonce tops Celebrity 100

Beyoncé has topped Forbes magazine's annual Celebrity 100 list.
The 'Drunk in Love' singer topped the annual list - which is compiled based on estimated earnings, how many times a celebrity is mentioned in the media, their social media activity and estimated influence - with an estimated worth of $115 million in the past year, a staggering $43 million higher than the second-placed stare, basketball player LeBron James.
Beyoncé performed 95 shows on tour - taking home an estimated $2.4 million per gig - and also fronted ad campaigns for Pepsi and H&M, as well as having her own fragrance line and clothing company, which all contributed in allowing her to take the top spot from Oprah Winfrey, who came first last year but could only manage fourth place this time around as others were deemed more influential and powerful.
Dr. Dre had the highest financial worth of all the top 10, with an astonishing $620 million - the highest any celebrity has ever recorded in a single year in the history of the list - but could only manage third place, while talk show host Ellen DeGeneres rounded out the top five, coming in one place ahead of Beyonce's husband Jay Z.
Also making the top 10 were boxer Floyd Mayweather, singers Rihanna and Katy Perry and actor Robert Downey Jr..

Pippa Middleton embarrassed by media attention

Pippa Middleton finds fame "embarrassing".
The younger sister of Britain's Duchess of Cambridge rose to prominence in April 2011 when she wore a figure-flattering bridesmaid dress to Catherine and Prince William's Royal Wedding held at Westminster Abbey, and now claims no one was more surprised than her when pictures of her pert backside were subsequently splashed across the internet.
She confessed in her first ever televised interview with Today's Matt Lauer: "It was completely unexpected. You know, I think the plan was not really for it to be a significant dress. Really just to sort of blend in with the train. I suppose it's flattering."
However, Pippa added the attention was "embarrassing" and definitely "not planned".
Despite her reservations about the dress that transformed her into a worldwide pin-up, the 30-year-old party planner can't bear to part with the garment.
She said: "It's actually still in my wardrobe at home. I haven't worn it since. But I think I'll just keep it there...I think it's the sort of thing that I'm sure I'll bring out if someone wanted to see it or my children one day want to see it. Then I'll show them."
Pippa is no stranger to the pitfalls of fame and was particularly hurt by the backlash and accusations of cashing on her royal connection that followed the release of her book, 'Celebrate'.
She admitted: "I have felt publicly bullied a little bit ... when I read things that clearly aren't true ... Whichever way someone looks at it, it's a negative side. It is quite difficult. Because eventually I'm just paving my way and trying to live a life like any 30-year-old."

The Who announce anniversary tour

The Who will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a new tour.
The 'My Generation' rockers have announced a string of UK dates for later this year in what will be the "beginning of a long goodbye", though they admit they still don't know when they will call a halt to performing live.
Speaking at a press conference at Ronnie Scott's in London today (30.06.14), singer Roger Daltrey said: "We can't go on touring forever, we don't know how long we will go on touring, it's an open-ended thing at the moment but there will be a finality to it.
"We'll stop touring before we stop playing as a band. It's like Eric Clapton just said it's the grind of the road that is incredibly tough on the body. The singing is free ...
"As a singer I don't know how long my voice will last like this so I just want to go out and make the most of it. It's the one thing I get the most out of, other than my family life.
"To me singing on stage is just the most natural thing in the world, it's where I like to be and it's not going to be there forever and my voice will go."
Meanwhile, his bandmate Pete Townshend admitted that, while he isn't always keen on life on the road, he "really wants" to mark the band's milestone.
He said: "I really want to do it, I often don't want to do it.
"I'm good at it and I find it fulfilling but it's not something I enjoy as much as sitting at home in the studio writing songs. But this one I really want to do because it's a significant anniversary ... To me it's all about going out and playing and celebrating the 50th anniversary."
At the press conference, the duo also performed a short acoustic set which included 'Substitute' and 'Won't Get Fooled Again'.
Tickets for the nine-date tour - which begins in Glasgow on November 30 and ends at London's The O2 on December 17 - go on sale at 9am on July 4 from www.aeglive.co.uk.

Sherlock for 2015 Christmas special?

'Sherlock' could return for a Christmas special in 2015.
Martin Freeman, who plays Dr. John Watson in the BBC detective drama, has suggested he and Benedict Cumberbatch will reunite for a one-off episode next year.
He told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "If that's going to be a special - I'm speaking off-message here, if this was New Labour I'd get fired - I think that might be for next Christmas. A Christmas special. That's what I understand."
Filming in early 2015 "looks pretty likely", the star added.
The critically acclaimed drama aired its third series earlier this year but producers have previously revealed a fourth series hinges on Martin and Benedict being available for filming at the same time.
Both stars have become hot properties in film and TV, with Martin starring in 'The Hobbit' trilogy and a new TV adaptation of 'Fargo'.
The 42-year-old actor also confirmed his real-life spouse Amanda Abbington would appear in future episodes as Watson's wife Mary.
He added: "Certainly, yes, for the foreseeable future."
But it appears Amanda's stint may be short-lived as Martin has hinted 'Sherlock' will follow in the footsteps of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes novels.
He said: "While we play fast and loose with the original stories, we generally follow the trajectory of what Conan Doyle did. So he gets married and then Mary dies - so at some point presumably she'll die."

Suzanne Shaw gets engaged

Suzanne Shaw has got engaged.
The former 'Dancing on Ice' contestant and Hear'Say singer has announced she is to tie the knot with sports consultant Sam Greenfield after a year of dating.
She gushed to HELLO! magazine: "He is everything I've ever wanted in a man - strong, protective, sensible, intelligent, affectionate, good-looking. He ticks all the boxes. I now understand the term 'my other half'."
The 32-year-old star - who has a nine-year-old son Corey with ex-boyfriend Darren Day - began dating Sam after splitting from her ex-husband Jason King in 2012 and feels she is finally ready to love again.
She said: "Some may say a year is not long, but I was ready. Because we were friends first, it didn't seem like so much of a gamble. The trust was already there. I had been secretly ticking off boxes along the way so when we got together, it felt right to go for it."
Sam popped the question to Suzanne earlier this month while they were enjoying a holiday in Dubai.
He said: "On the third day we sat on our balcony gazing out at this incredible view of the ocean. We felt we were on top of the world and thought, 'Let's get engaged here and now.' The moment happened quite naturally, which was nice as there was no pressure for it to be a certain way.
"The next day we hit the Gold and Diamond Park [jewellery market] and, five hours and 200 hours and 200 rings later, she found the one she wanted."

Cybermen return to Doctor Who

'Doctor Who' fans were delighted to catch a glimpse of Cybermen on set at the weekend.
The Friary in Cardiff city centre was filled with the terrifying silver robots as new Time Lord Peter Capaldi, joined by newcomer Michelle Gomez and returning Jemma Redgrave - who previously appeared in 50th anniversary episode 'The Day of the Doctor' as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart - filmed a narrow escape from the sinister enemies.
According to online reports, Kate tried to prove her credentials by confronting the Cybermen, but things go wrong and the Doctor has to order everyone to back away.
During a break from filming, Peter was happy to sign autographs and pose for pictures with fans who were watching filming, while extras from the show were also queuing up to get their photographs taken with the Cybermen.
Jenna Colman, who stars as the Doctor's companion Clara Oswald, did not seem to be on set.
The new series of the show returns to BBC One on August 23.
Michelle's role on the sci-fi series has just been announced and she is thrilled to have joined the cast.
She said: "Well of course Peter Capaldi is our next Doctor, which makes complete sense. I'm thrilled to join him. Well, you would be, wouldn't you?"
Showrunner Steven Moffat added: "I've known Michelle for years, and I'm thrilled to welcome her to Doctor Who. She's everything we need - brilliant, Scottish, and a tiny bit satanic.

Rolf Harris guilty of 12 indecent assaults

Rolf Harris has been found guilty of 12 counts of indecent assault.
The 84-year-old TV presenter was convicted of attacking four underage girls, including the friend of his daughter Bindi Nicholls, between 1968 and 1986 at Southwark Crown Court today (30.06.14).
Harris will be sentenced on Friday (04.07.14) and judge Mr. Justice Sweeney declared a custodial term was "uppermost in the court's mind".
In a long-running and emotional seven-week trial, a jury heard how Harris had a "dark side" behind what the prosecution described as his "friendly and lovable exterior".
The 'Animal Hospital' star strenuously denied sexually assaulting a friend of his daughter's as a teenager, but conceded he did have a relationship with the woman - now 40 - in her adult years.
The unidentified female accused Harris of abusing her from the age of 13 and claims the TV star performed a sex act on her at his home in Bray, Berkshire, and didn't seem troubled by the fact Bindi was asleep nearby.
The claimant also described other instances of abuse by Harris, alleging he once fondled his penis in front of her. She described the Australian star's anatomy as "small ... very, very small".
Harris is also accused of inappropriately hugging and tickling the then-teenager and was branded "creepy" in court.
The woman said: "The way he hugged you and tickled you all over was cringey. I never liked it. Rolf would fold himself around you. He was a big man. He would fold you in his arms and tickle you up and down your body."
Quizzed why she never told Harris' daughter Bindi or his wife Alwen Hughes about the attack, the claimant said: "I was shocked and panicked by it. I didn't know what to do. I sat on the end of the bed in a state of shock, really."

Sam Smith loved seeing mud splattered bodies at Glastonbury

Sam Smith's favourite thing about Glastonbury is "mud on sexy bodies".
The 'Stay With Me' singer performed on The Other Stage on Sunday (29.06.14) and also joined Disclosure in the evening for a rendition of their track 'Latch'.
Sam spent Saturday (28.06.14) taking in the atmosphere of the festival held on Worthy Farm in Somerset, South West England, and he loved seeing lots of revellers getting stuck into the mud.
Speaking backstage on Sunday, he told BANG Showbiz: "What do I love about Glastonbury? Mud on sexy bodies! I've been good though, I'm only just having my first drink and I got here yesterday morning."
Sam did suffer some disappointment at Glastonbury though as he couldn't go and watch Dolly Parton's performance on the Pyramid Stage because it clashed with his own show.
He said: "It's been absolutely amazing but I've not seen that many people play, I was performing while Dolly was playing. It would have been great to go and watch her sing."
Ellie Goulding watched Dolly's set on a big screen in the hospitality tent and admitted she'd be delighted if she can have a career that lasts as long as Dolly's.
Ellie said: "I'd love to be able to perform live for as long as Dolly. She's amazing!"
Dolly's performance drew one of the biggest crowds of the weekend and her set included several of her greatest hits, including 'Islands in the Stream', '9 to 5' and 'Jolene'.
The 68-year-old country legend was also joined on stage by Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora for 'Lay Your Hands On Me'.

Paolo Nutini: I’m not interested in Metallica

Paolo Nutini has dismissed Metallica's Glastonbury set insisting the metal band just play the "same song over and over again".
The 27-year-old musician didn't bother to go and watch the 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' rockers' headline set on Saturday evening (28.06.14) because he thinks their music is boring.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz backstage, he said: "Metallica just play one song. "It's just the same song over and over again with Metallica. I wasn't interested in their set."
Paolo drew a large crowd for his set on The Other Stage on Friday (27.06.14) with a set packed with tracks from his latest album 'Caustic Love'
The Scottish singer stuck around at the festival to party and was spotted kissing a stunning brunette backstage on Saturday night.
Paolo spotted the mystery brunette and immediately went over to talk to her, after chatting to her for just a short time they started smooching.
An onlooker said: "Paolo and the girl were kissing very intensely. When they weren't kissing the girl kept staring into his eyes and was touching Paolo's chest."
Despite Paolo's lack of interest in Metallica, the band were watched by the biggest crowd of the weekend when they took to the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night and their performance was acclaimed as one of the highlights of the weekend.
Drummer Lars Ulrich described the experience as "sensational" and insisted he and his bandmates, frontman James Hetfield, guitarist Kirk Hammet and bassist Robert Trujillo, felt honoured to be given the chance to perform at the world famous event.
Lars said: "That was sensational (for us). I don't remember much of it ... the energy was fantastic. It was other-worldly.
