Simon Cowell is protective of son

Simon Cowell had a "really protective" instinct when his son was born.
The music mogul recently became a father for the first time and after meeting two-month-old Eric - who he has with girlfriend Lauren Silverman - he had an urge to make sure he was "safe and looked after".
The doting dad said: "The second he was born I felt this really protective instinct towards him to make sure he was safe and looked after. I've always had that nature though. With friends and family and with animals. It's something I have."
Simon - who has a brother, Nicholas and three half-brothers, John, Tony, and Michael - claims his mother Julie Brett still couldn't believe he'd become a father until she met the tiny tot for herself as it was such a shock to her that her son was having a child of his own.
The 54-year-old star told HELLO! magazine: "It was fantastic. I was really looking forward to that moment, because of all her sons I was the one who she was convinced would never have kids.
"I'm not sure she even believed it until I actually said, 'This is your grandson'. But it was a great moment. She's hilarious, my mum - a real character. It was a big day for her."

Prince George kangaroo backpack sells out

Prince George's kangaroo backpack has sold out.
The cute bag, which features a stuffed version of the iconic Australian animal cuddling a Joey on the front, has flown off the shelves after Prince William was spotted carrying the item when arriving with his son and Duchess Catherine in Sydney, Australia, on Monday (07.04.14).
Shoppers have rushed to order the item, which was on sale on the Australian Koala Foundation website, and the vendors have been forced to display a 'This product is out of stock or unavailable' message to those hoping to emulate the eight-month-old tot's style.
George had been accompanying his parents on his first royal tour as they travelled to Wellington, New Zealand, for the next leg of their journey via Air Force military jet.
This isn't the first time William and Catherine's first-born has caused a shopping frenzy, as retailer My1stYears.com saw their personalised sweaters sell out after George wore a pale blue jumper embroidered with his name when the royal family unveiled a new family portrait last Sunday (29.03.14).
Director Daniel Price said: "The demand took us by surprise. We weren't expecting to see a shot with Prince George wearing a jumper with his name and our similar jumper sold out quickly. Luckily we were able to restock to fulfil orders, but it's since sold out again."

Disney work on Wreck-It Ralph sequel?

Disney have a sequel to 'Wreck-It Ralph' "on the cards".
The original animated adventure was released in 2012 and composer Henry Jackman insists a follow-up is in the early stages of development but remained careful not to reveal too many details about the forthcoming film.
He told collider.com: "I can't tell you more, not because I'm being coy, but I believe that it is officially on the cards.
"I don't know any more other than a story is indeed being written. I'd be very surprised not to. I'm not blowing my own trumpet. Forget about the music. Just the movie itself I thought was a fantastically imaginative and creative piece of work."
'Wreck-It Ralph' was met with critical and commercial success, earning $471 million in worldwide box office.
It was also nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at the Golden Globe Awards and was in the line up for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards.
John C. Reilly voiced the titular character while Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer and Jane Lynch also worked on the film.

Sam Claflin bonded with Stef Dawson over Twitter

Sam Claflin bonded with his 'Hunger Games: Mockingjay' co-star Stef Dawson over Twitter before they met.
The hunk plays District Four tribute Finnick Odair while Dawson stars as his love interest Annie Cresta in the adaptation of Suzanne Collins' trilogy, and after casting was announced he was keen to speak to the actress online before they met on set.
Claflin told Digital Spy: "We got in touch via tweet immediately when the news broke.
"The moment she set foot on the 'Mockingjay' set, the two of us are like best of mates. She's great."
Although Dawson's alter-ego Cresta was reaped to participate in the 75th Hunger Games, shown in 'Catching Fire', an older tribute volunteered to enter the deadly Games in her place, but she has a bigger part in the follow-up which is split into two films.
Claflin - who hits the big screen in horror 'The Quiet Ones' - insists his jam-packed schedule means his new-found fame is yet to affect his everyday lifestyle.
He added: "I've been hidden away in a hotel or on set every day, or publicising 'The Quiet Ones'.
"Very rarely have I shared the opportunity to go out and strut my stuff."

Gwendoline Christie cast in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2

Gwendoline Christie has been cast in 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2'.
The 'Game of Thrones' actress is replacing Lily Rabe as Commander Lyme in the fourth instalment of the Jennifer Lawrence-fronted film franchise.
Rabe was forced to pull out due to a previous commitment to perform in 'Much Ado about Nothing' in London's Shakespeare in the Park event this summer, deadline.com reports.
Lyme, a Commander of the rebellion in District 2, is one of the leaders of District 13 where rebel groups take refuge from President Snow and his Capitol minions.
Statuesque star Christie stands at 6ft3 and is best known for playing a bodyguard called Brienne of Tarth in hit fantasy show 'Game of Thrones', so the role of Lyme, described as "standing over six feet tall and heavily muscled", seems a good fit.
The third chapter of Suzanne Collins' bestselling books, 'Mockingjay', is being split into two parts, with the first due for release this November and 'Mockingjay - Part 2' landing in cinemas the following November.
'Mockingjay' only has two more weeks of shooting left in Atlanta, Georgia, before the cast and crew head to Europe to complete filming.

Corrie’s Maria to send Tyrone mystery texts

'Coronation Street's' Maria Connor will be revealed as Tyrone Dobbs' mystery texter.
The soap favourite, played by Alan Halsall, will fear for his safety in coming weeks as he begins receiving suspicious text messages, which he believes are from his abusive ex Kirsty Soames - who has been freed from prison - but they are in fact from an unhinged Maria (Samia Ghadie).
The 'Corrie' beauty recently split from boyfriend Marcus Dent (Charlie Condou) after catching him cheating with Todd Grimshaw (Bruno Langley) and turns to Tyrone for support.
When Maria begins developing feelings for ex-boyfriend Tyrone, she tries to kiss him but the father-of-one backs away, resulting in her sending him an erratic text to apologise.
Tyrone assumes the text is from Kirsty as he doesn't have Maria's phone number saved and confides his fears that Kirsty has returned in a heart-to-heart with Maria.
The hairdresser fails to come clean about the text and begins pretending to be Kirsty in a bid to feel needed.
Actress Samia explained to the official 'Coronation Street' website: "Maria wants him to need her. And because Tyrone doesn't think he can lean on Fiz he turns to Maria for support.
"It's twisted but Maria feels wanted by Tyrone and because of that she finds it difficult to stop pretending to be Kirsty."

will.i.am under fire by BBC for plugging watch

will.i.am has come under fire by the BBC for plugging his smartphone watch live on air.
The 'Feelin' Myself' rapper could be in big trouble with producers after he used the technology-savvy accessory to receive a phone call from pal, Cheryl Cole, during 'The Voice' live final on Saturday night (05.04.14), despite the channel's strict advertising and product placement ban.
A BBC source told The Sun newspaper: "No one was more surprised than the producers when Will started talking on his watch phone. It's not something we would agree with, but it just happened."
Cheryl had called will.i.am to praise his winning act Jermain Jackman for his rendition of Miley Cyrus hit 'Wrecking Ball', and while insiders admit the Black Eyed Peas frontman had breached BBC guidelines, they insist "no one has complained".
This isn't the first time will has landed himself in hot water as he was previously banned from wearing a jacket embroidered with the words 'Go Hard Or Go Home', after fans accused him of using the apparel to plug his 2011 single 'T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)', which featured Jennifer Lopez and Sir Mick Jagger
Meanwhile, will.i.am spoke of his latest creation when wearing his smartphone watch during a recent appearance on 'Alan Carr: Chatty Man'.
He explained: "It takes my heartbeat, my calorie burn, you can make purchases from it. I started the company and funded it and used my own money to develop it."

Got Talent named most successful talent show format

'Britain's Got Talent' is the world's most successful reality TV format.
The ITV talent show, which was devised by Simon Cowell in 2005, has replaced BBC One's 'Strictly Come Dancing' as the most popular talent show format in the Guinness Book of Records after it successfully launched in over 50 countries.
The most recent nations out of a list of 58 who have copied the template include Brazil, Kazakhstan and Iceland, and Simon has thanked everyone who has contributed to its success.
He said: "I am very proud that 'Got Talent' is a homegrown British show. We owe its success to a group of talented producers all over the world who have made this happen. And of course, to the amazing talent."
The media mogul first came up with the idea for the show in 2005 and it began as a pilot with comedian Paul O'Grady as host but he decided to withdraw from the project, prompting Simon to take the idea to the United States where he launched 'America's Got Talent' in 2006 prior to the introduction of 'Britain's Got Talent' in 2007.
Presenters Ant and Dec have been hosts since the first series, while Amanda Holden has been a consistent member of the judging panel alongside a number of other stars including Michael McIntyre, David Hasselhoff and Kelly Brook.
'Little Britain' comedian David Walliams and Alesha Dixon joined in 2012 and will appear on the panel with Amanda and Simon for the new series which kicks off on Saturday (12.04.14).

Game of Thrones writers’ deadly pranks

The 'Game of Thrones' writers prank the cast by killing them off in fake scripts.
Actress Sophie Turner - who plays Sansa Stark in the hit fantasy drama - has revealed the show's scribes often give the actors joke scripts, leading them to believe they have been axed.
'Game of Thrones' is known for its high cast turnover as the deadly storylines often lead to popular characters meeting their maker.
Sophie explained: "The scriptwriters play tricks on the cast. They wrote a script where Kit [Harington, who plays Jon Snow] got killed off and he was really paranoid about it. But it was a fake."
Jokes and pranks aside, the 18-year-old actress admits that she found it hard growing up on set after joining the series at the tender age of 13.
Sophie told the Metro newspaper: "It was very difficult at the beginning, particularly when I had my first crying scene. I'd never cried to order before, so I began to think of personal stuff that would make me sad and it was too much."
To celebrate the new season, thebar.com has created a series of cocktails in honour of the show's most popular characters and most memorable moments, including the Red Wedding. Visit http://uk.thebar.com for more information.
'Game of Thrones' season four begins tonight (07.04.14) at 9pm on Sky Atlantic and is also available through NOW TV with the NOW TV Entertainment Month Pass.
