Ariana Grande no longer talks to her father.
The 'Problem' hitmaker - who recently had to cope with the death of her grandfather - has revealed that she fell out of touch with her dad last year but has come to terms with it.
She told Seventeen magazine: "It's private, but it happened last year. It took me so long to be OK with it. The thing that got me there was embracing the fact that that I am made up of half my dad, and a lot of my traits come from him. So much of me comes from my father, and for so long, I didn't like that about myself.
"I had to accept that it's OK not to get along with somebody and still love them."
Ariana, 21, who shot to fame on Nickelodeon's 'Victorious', admitted she has found dealing with fame difficult.
She explained: "It's tough to spend some of the most important years of your life in front of so many strangers who want to pick you apart. Insecurity has been the hardest thing I've had to overcome. I think everyone my age struggles with that because everyone strives for approval and wants to feel loved.
"I feel like for the first time in my life, I'm really OK. I used to freak out about everything all the time. I used to be like, 'Oh my God, somebody said this!' Everything used to be such a big deal! But now, I feel I can handle everything that comes my way with a calm energy."

Britain's Prince Harry is thrilled that Foo Fighters will headline the Jaguar Land Rover Invictus Games closing concert.
The band will lead a star-studded line-up including Kaiser Chiefs, Ellie Goulding, Ryan Adams, The Vamps, Rizzle Kicks and James Blunt, when they perform at the event in London on September 14, their first UK gig in some time.
The gig will be held at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London to celebrate Invictus Games, launched by Prince Harry to use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect of those who serve their country.
Prince Harry said: "I am hugely grateful to all the artists and organisers for coming together in September to put on what will be a truly awesome concert. It will be a celebration of everything the competitors will have achieved over the four days of the Invictus Games, not to mention the efforts of the hundreds of other athletes we couldn't fit into the teams this year. And for those who didn't make it back from operations, this is also for you."
Foo Fighters added: "Invictus games, look out...THE FOO FIGHTERS ARE COMING. What a perfect way to finally return to the UK for the first time in years...been waaaay too long! Thanks for having us, it is truly an honour to come play for these incredible men and women. Can't wait to do our thing for you..."
The concert will also include the medal presentations for the inspirational winning competitors. Starting at 5pm, the five-hour multi-artist event will have highlights broadcast by the BBC.

'EastEnders' star Lacey Turner says she wants to her character to emulate Dot Branning.
The 26-year-old actress reprised her role as Stacey Branning in the BBC One soap earlier this year but saw her alter-ego sent to prison, however she's set for another return and would love be in the show for the long run.
Quizzed on whether she could see Stacey having the longevity of June Brown's character, Dot, she said: "Mentally, I'm there! If you could do half of what June Brown has done with Dot, then that would be unbelievably amazing. She's such an amazing lady. Who knows? I'm always really happy here.
"I'll stay for as long as they'll keep me. I'm not going anywhere."
Stacey was sentenced to five years in prison for the murder of Archie Mitchell when she made her return earlier this year and although Lacey says she wants to do her time so she can get back to live with her daughter Lily, she says things may not be as simple as they seem.
Speaking about Stacey's reaction to her mother Jean Slater's (Gillian Wright) plans to get her out of prison, Lacey told the Radio Times magazine: "She doesn't take it so well at first. She wants to serve her time. She feels that she can't start again until she's paid for what she's done.
"But slowly, as bad things happen, she decides that maybe staying in prison isn't the wisest thing to do. And if she has got an opportunity to get out, then she should take it."

Gabby Logan will host a TV show on a pro-celebrity darts tournament for Comic Relief.
'Let's Play Darts For Comic Relief' will see darts-loving celebrities join forces with professionals as they adopt their own persona, complete with nickname, costume, props and the all important walk on music.
Pinki Chambers, BBC Commissioning Editor, said: "We're delighted to be hosting 'Let's Play Darts For Comic Relief' on BBC Two. Make no mistake; this is a highly competitive tournament which will be full of jeopardy and sporting triumphs. Expect some laughs along the way too."

Vicky Pattison is going to "stir s**t up" when she returns to 'Geordie Shore' on tonight's (29.07.14) episode.
That's according to her co-star Holly Hagan, who is particularly delighted to see the raven-haired beauty back on the MTV reality show after she was axed following an incident in a nightclub which saw her convicted of assault and ordered to complete 180 hours of unpaid work.
In tonight's episode, Holly says: "I am so glad Vicky's back. She's the f**king queen of this house and when she finds out what's been going on she's going to stir s**t up."
Vicky's return didn't just go down well with Holly as her fellow housemate, newcomer Aaron Chalmers, 26, was also delighted to see the 26-year-old star.
He says: "So this beautiful girl walks in and it happens to be Vicky. Living with this girl is going to put a smile on my face."
Scott Timlin also approves of his pal's look, saying: "I've never seen Vicky looking this good like."
It appears the feeling was mutual as Vicky admits she is delighted to see the rest of the gang because she has missed them.
She says: "It is so good to see these t***s. I've actually really missed them."

Ian Watkins' former Lostprophets bandmate Lee Gaze says the jailed singer was completely deluded about the future just days before his arrest.
The Welsh group disbanded after frontman Watkins was jailed for 35 years for child sex offences in December, but guitarist Lee has revealed Ian was "strangely positive and enthusiastic about everything," on a video shoot before he was taken in by police.
He told BBC's Newsbeat: "[He was] talking about the next record and how it's going to do really well and get back on our feet. It goes to show how deluded he was. He is just completely on a different level to everybody, happy and positive and convinced we were going to be successful again."
Lee also insisted he and with former Lostprophets bandmates Stuart Richardson, Mike Lewis and Jamie Oliver - who have formed a new band No Devotion with ex-Thursday singer Geoff Rickley - had no idea about Ian's depravity.
He said: "How could you know? How would anyone know? Who would disclose such a thing to five people, who between them have eight children? You just wouldn't because they would be killed on the spot."

Rockboi loves having pillow fights with Labrinth.
The rapper, who is the brother of both the 'Earthquake' singer and 'Britain's Got Talent' drummer MckNasty, has opened up about his close relationship with his famous siblings.
When asked if there was any rivalry between in their family, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Not unless we're having a pillow fight or something like that, you know what I mean.
"We've all worked together since we were really young and stuff so one day you never know, you might see the whole Mac' pack getting poppin' together."
Rockboi also revealed that despite his brother's success in the music industry, he will be launching his career without the help of Labrinth.

Chris Evans says there's a lot of banter on the set of 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'.
The 33-year-old actor - who starred as Steve Rogers aka Captain America in 'Avengers Assemble' - is to reprise his role in the upcoming next instalment of the Marvel superheroes franchise and he claims the cast all get along really well.
Speaking about the banter between him and his co-stars - who include Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), he said: "Everyone always says, 'Oh we get on so well'.
"But we really do get along phenomenally well and coming back to the second one, the banter is happening before you yell action, so there's so much camaraderie happening in life it's so easy to translate on screen and Joss [Whedon, director] really wants that to be a part of this next film."
The 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' star - who is set to appear in his directorial debut 'Before We Go' later this year - claims making the second film is easier because the characters have already been acquainted.
Evans told Collider: "The first movie you're trying to build the team, now we have the team, now it's a matter of maintaining the team and evolving the team and growing the team and that banter is what makes it likeable, what makes you invest and anticipate the journey and the struggle."

Zoe Saldana is able to give her husband "support and love" because it is in her nature.
The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' actress - who is rumoured to be pregnant with twins - married artist Marco Perego last year and thinks it was meant to be that she met her life partner later in life.
She said: "We give each other a great deal of support and love but it wasn't because we found it in each other, we came that way and then got together.
"That's what I love about it. I do believe whatever's meant to be will be - but had the universe said, 'Let's just wait, he's going to come into your life later', I would've been fine on this journey I was on just knowing who the f**k I was."
The 36-year-old beauty admits she feels more "beautiful" now she has stopped worrying about her appearance so much and works out less.
She explained to Women's Health magazine: "This past year I've had to start letting go.
"My body dictated it as if saying, 'Slow the f**k down!'. And I struggle with that. I love to be an athlete.
"I've learnt to listen to myself, so whenever I don't feel like doing anything that starts with 'I should' then I don't.
"My body is less toned. I do look in the mirror and see things I don't want. My first reaction is I breathe and I think, 'I'm a woman, I'm 36, my body is changing'.
"I'm exactly where I want to be. I do feel beautiful in a way that even when I was working out a whole lot, I sometimes didn't."

Cara Delevingne has made friends with her "idol" Jack Black.
The Burberry model has plenty of showbiz friends - including Rihanna, Rita Ora and Harry Styles - to keep her company, but now she has another name to add to her phone book after finding the time to hang out with the Tenacious D star at Comic-Con and it would seem like the pair got on very well.
Cara posted two selfies on Instagram to mark the occasion.
To accompany one of her photos, she wrote: "I met my idol today... the one and only JACK BLACK!! I think we were separated at birth. (sic)"
The 'School of Rock' actor looked equally pleased as he smiled for the camera with Cara.
