One Direction will headline this year's iHeartRadio Music Festival.
The boyband will be joined by acts including Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Iggy Azalea, and Lorde, on the main stage at the annual event which will take place over two nights at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on September 19 and 20.
Coldplay, Usher, Nicki Minaj, Motley Crue, Zac Brown Band, Paramore, Train, Eric Church, Calvin Harris, Bastille, and Steve Aoki have also been confirmed to play at the star-studded gathering.
Ryan Seacrest will once again return as host for the music festival's fourth year in Las Vegas.
Tom Poleman, president of Clear Channel's national programming platforms, told Billboard: "We want to continue to deliver the goods for artists and help their development, and to see more great music to keep the radio industry healthy."
He added: "It's great to have the diversity of genres this year, too. We have Motley Crue, which is obviously very different from Train, Eric Church, or Ariana Grande, but that's what makes it so special.
"You'll often have people on the side of the stage watching other bands. It's not unthinkable to see someone like Coldplay watching Zac Brown or One Direction because they're already on-set and they never get to see them play themselves."
Chrissie Hynde has compared rock legend Neil Young to God.
Neil appears on the track 'Down The Wrong Way' on Chrissie's new album, 'Stockholm' and the former Pretenders singer was honoured to work with the Canadian musician.
She told the Daily Telegraph: "If you believe in God, playing with Neil is probably the closest thing you'll have to being in the presence. A demi-God, let's say.
"As far as an individual, he's the hippy you always imagined him to be, funny, personable, real easy-going.
"He's like the guy who passes you the joint in the back of a station wagon as you're travelling across some dusty terrain."
Meanwhile, Chrissie insisted that song-writing performs a cathartic function for her.
She said: "I am not a poet, I am not a storyteller. I just kind of get stuff off my chest. These songs just tumbled out."
Chrissie admitted that the central theme running through the new album - which has been described as edgy by various critics - is emotional concerns.
She added: "That's why there's millions of love songs made out of just 12 notes. It's a Rubik's Cube times a thousand, there's so many possible combinations of primary colours."
Former Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins has had his jail term appeal refused.
The shamed star was jailed for 29 years last December, with another six years on license, after being found guilty of a number of child sex offences, and after claiming that his sentence was "too harsh", judges at Cardiff Crown Court have now decided he didn't have sufficient grounds to appeal, Sky News reports.
The singer had originally insisted he was innocent of offences including the attempted rape of an 11-month-old child, possession of child-abuse videos - some of which he made himself - and encouraging a fan to abuse her own child.
However, he changed his plea at the last minute, averting the need for a trial, and later complained he hadn't realised his guilty plea would indeed make him "look guilty".
At his original trial, the judge told him: "I am satisfied that you are a deeply corrupting influence, you are highly manipulative, you are a sexual predator, you are dangerous.
"The public and, in particular, young females need protection from you."
Watkins was told that he would have to serve at least two-thirds of his custodial sentence before he could even be considered for release by the Parole board.
His barrister insisted her client wasn't given enough discount for pleading guilty, saying: "This case causes a very disturbing reaction for anyone who has anything to do with it ... But by pleading guilty my client averted the need for a most distressing and unpleasant trial for all those concerned, especially a jury.
"I am not trying to minimise the gravity of these offenses, just simply make the observation that a sense of proportion needs to be maintained."
Jennifer Saunders is planning a star-studded cast for the 'Absolutely Fabulous' movie.
The 56-year-old comedienne is working on a film spin-off of her classic sitcom and she has revealed she wants every guest star that's been in the show - including Kate Moss and Emma Bunton - to reprise their roles.
She said: "I haven't got the storyline completely sorted out yet, but I want to cast everyone who has ever been in the show in it."
The hit sitcom starred Jennifer and Joanna Lumley as boozy fashion industry insiders Edina 'Eddy' Monsoon and Patsy Stone.
The comic confirmed the main cast, also consisting of Julia Sawalha, June Whitfield and Jane Horrocks, would return for the movie.
She told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "I guess if your name begins with J, you're in. Joanna, Jennifer, Jane, June, Julia - we're all J's."
Other guests who appeared on the show - which aired 39 episodes between 1992 and 2012 - include supermodel Naomi Campbell, Helena Bonham Carter, Idris Elba, Sir Elton John and Jennifer's long-time comedy partner Dawn French.
Jennifer confirmed the movie earlier this year, saying: "I am writing the film as we speak - it's in the pipeline.
"I am hoping it will be released by the end of next year."
Kerry Washington takes risks "all the time" on 'Scandal'.
The Emmy Award-nominated starlet says her role as political fixer Olivia Pope is enormously challenging to her as an actress as the character - who is having an affair with the president of the United States - is "flawed" and has many different shades to her.
Kerry explained: "Olivia is such a revered character - we want to see her as all-powerful and all-knowing and yet she's enormously flawed. Taking a hero and revealing her dark side - her flaws and humanity - is an exciting creative risk for me."
The 37-year-old actress feels there are very few complex roles available for women and says it's "exciting" to play a character that is different.
She added: "I think we feel underrepresented in different forms of media, or as people of colour - there's a longing for those characters to be perfect. To say, 'No, I'm not supposed to be an upstanding citizen for all women or a role model for all people of colour. I'm going to be a human being: three dimensional, messy and alive - both powerful and a little bit of a mess.' Now that's exciting."
Kerry recently earned her second Emmy nomination for playing Olivia but she admits she doesn't get "caught up" in awards hysteria.
She told Stylist magazine: "I love what I do and being able to do it is the most important thing to me."
'Scandal' Season 3 starts on July 31 at 9pm on Sky Living.
Cheryl Cole will be known as Cheryl Fernandez-Versini on 'The X Factor'.
Voice artist Peter Dickson - who announces the judges and contestants to the stage on the live shows - has confirmed bosses have asked him to begin practicing Cheryl's new name following her secret wedding to French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini earlier this month.
Appearing on the Capital FM's Capital Breakfast show this morning (23.07.14), he said: "I had a phone call a few weeks ago from the producers to tell me who the new judges were.
"They said, 'It's Cheryl', and I said, 'Oh, that's fine, she's back.' And they said, 'No, but she's changed her name. She's married Jean-Bernard and she wants to be known by his second name, so can you start practicing?' So I have been - not very successfully!"
Cheryl, 31, wed Jean-Bernard in Mustique in front of just four guests and it was recently reported she may be whisked off to her new husband's native France to film the Judges' Houses round of this year's 'X Factor'.
The singer is tipped to go to Nice in the south of France, where Jean-Bernard hails from, while new judge Mel B may film in Cancun, Mexico.
Peter Webber is planning a sequel to 'Girl with a Pearl Earring'.
The director - who launched actress Scarlett Johansson into the spotlight with his 2003 debut - has now begun work on a new project.
The similarly art themed movie will be based on an early 19th century painting and is working under the title, 'Medusa.'.
Speaking at a film festival in Ukraine, Webber said he was planning to catch up with his work after taking a break from feature films for several years.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: "I am hoping to catch up and line up some projects and bang out a few films in a row to make up for some of the down times over the last ten years."
However, the director wouldn't confirm which painting will be getting his film treatment, but did hint that it's famous enough for art geeks to guess.
He said: "Anyone who knows their art history will be able to guess which painting the film is about."
Raphaelle De Laurentiis, the daughter of 'Hannibal Rising' producer Dino De Laurentiis, is set to produce the film alongside Peter.
Dwayne Johnson wore a beard made of testicle hair for 'Hercules'.
The 42-year-old star - also known by his wrestling name "The Rock" - stars as the Greek hero in the upcoming film of the same name and he's confessed he was shocked to find out what parts of his costume had been made out of.
Speaking on 'Live! with Kelly and Michael', he said: "The beard hair, I've got to mention this, this is crazy. The beard wasn't lace so it had to be put on strips cut in tri, quarter inch wide, piece-by-piece.
"So I asked my Italian designer, 'Matteo what is this?' And he goes, 'Oh, it's the hair from a yak'. It's very expensive and very fine hair and I said, 'Yak?' And he says, 'Yes, yak'. And he's putting it on my face like this [rubs the area around his mouth] and I say, 'What part?' And he goes, 'The testicles'.
"It's the commitment of which I will go to."
The 'Pain & Gain' actor - whose usual hairstyle is that of a shaved head - has long flowing locks in the movie and he's revealed it took nearly four hours to put the wig on every day on set.
He explained: "It's a system, it's a process, it's an experience. Everyday for five months. Every day, three and a half hours, every day.
"Three and a half hours every morning. So I would get up at half three and then I would eat and train again, as I had to train twice a day for the role, and then I would go and sit in hair and make up for three and a half hours for the transformation."
Katie Price launched an expletive-filled rant at two of her former friends on Twitter for having affairs with her husband.
The former glamour model branded Chrissy Thomas a 's**t' and Jane Pountney a 'w***e' on the micro-blogging site, even though she has insisted she is planning to work things out with Kieran Hayler, who is being treated for sex addiction.
She wrote: "hope WALLS ice cream keep eye on Chrissy s**t thomas she is also shagging a married worker whom got married within past year and has I child
"When Chrissy s**t thomas drove up in lorry to Scotland with him few months ago they stayed night had sex all night
"There is a lot about Chrissy s**t thomas media would love to know about 😉 with celeb married men
"I hope anyone who still wants to be friends with jane w***e pountney now realises she is not loyal who will open her legs 2 ur husbands. (sic)"
Katie, 36, then calmly ended her rant by writing: "That's me done for the night ! TV time tea and biscuits with my family , have good evening everyone x."
This comes just after Katie - who is pregnant with her fifth child, her second with Kieran - that she and her spouse are working on their relationship following her discovery that he had cheated on her but she will never forgive her former pals.
She said: "They are wicked witches, the pair of them. They are just prostitutes in my eyes and I hope they suffer for the rest of their lives the same way they're making me suffer. This proves they are not capable of being loyal to anyone."
Natalie Imbruglia is considering joining Tinder.
The 39-year-old actress-turned-singer has admitted that her lack of success in her love life has led her to seriously think about signing up for the cult dating app, which lets users initially simply judge each other based on appearance.
Speaking on Kiis FM's Kyle and Jackie O show, she revealed her relationship status is "Shocking! I'm so single", before adding, "I'm starting to consider that I should go on Tinder... Well where am I going to meet people?"
The 'Torn' hitmaker is particularly keen to join after one of her friends found love through the app.
Admitting her reasons for joining, she said: "My girlfriend in London has fallen madly in love on her third Tinder date - and I'm incredibly jealous.
"He's a really nice normal guy, a director... I've met him he's really sweet and really normal.
"Everyone I know whose single in London is on Tinder."
However, the radio presenters were not impressed, with Jackie O commenting: "Tinder that's... I dunno if you'd be right for Tinder."
To which Natalie replied: "Is it different here? Is it dodgy here? Should I not be talking about it."
Natalie was previously married to Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns in 2003 before the couple divorced in 2008.
She has also been linked to a string of famous men including David Schwimmer and Harry Styles.
Olly Murs has been named Rear of the Year.
The 'Hand on Heart' singer - who shot to fame as runner up on 'The X Factor' in 2010 - beat tennis player Andy Murray into second place for the coveted best butt prize and was thrilled to pick up the accolade.
He tweeted: "Thanks to everyone that voted for my arse we are both very proud of this award"
Olly even changed his profile photo to a picture of his pert behind as a tribute to his new status.
In the female category, former 'Countdown' mathematician Carol Vorderman was victorious yet again, making her the first celebrity to win the award twice.
The 53-year-old TV presenter previously won Rear of the Year in 2011 alongside 'Strictly Come Dancing' professional Anton Du Beke and this year beat 'X Factor' judge Cheryl Cole to the top spot.
Like Olly, Carol shared the news via Twitter. She joked: "So Big Bum here has won THAT award for a second time.... one for each cheek, so to speak...it's a strange world!!! (sic)"
She also joked in a statement: "As I said when I won it in 2011, I always suspected there were a lot of people out there who were glad to see the back of me. It now appears there were even more than I thought."
The lighthearted competition first started in 1976 and named 'EastEnders' actress Barbara Windsor as the winner.
Since then, Rear of the Year has given trophies to plenty of perky-bottomed celebrities, including Rachel Stevens, Charlotte Church and Ian Wright.
Demi Lovato had to break her strict diet so she didn't offend US President Barack Obama.
The 'Skyscraper' hitmaker usually sticks to a raw food, gluten-free eating regime because of allergies to wheat and dairy, but didn't want to offend host Robert Rodriguez or his special guest at a party at the filmmaker's Texan home last month.
She told 'Extra': "I try to eat raw food whenever possible. I don't eat it all the time just because I'm the type of person that if I do something, if I go all one way, I get burnt out...
"I'm gluten-free and dairy-free because I'm allergic to them. I just eat vegan and raw as much as possible and it's really changed my body and made me feel better.
"But you kind of can't turn down pizza that Robert Rodriguez handmade - and that you are also eating with the president."
Demi also admitted she was left embarrassed by her chat with the commander-in-chief that night - but ended the conversation bursting with pride thanks to his kind words.
She explained: "I reminded him that we'd met before. I sang at Christmas in Washington. He said, 'I know who you are. You're a mega-star, you think I'm stupid?' I was like, 'No Mr. President, I'm so sorry, you're not stupid!'
"Then we did talk about his daughters and [his wife] Michelle, and he was like, 'You just scored me cool points,' and I said, 'You scored me cool points! Thanks for calling me a mega-star."
