Famke Janssen hopes her 'X-Men' character isn't recast with a younger actress.
The 48-year-old actress, who plays telekinetic superhero Jean Grey in the popular films, admits she would be disappointed if the part is recast and has expressed her hope of reprising her most famous role.
Janssen's comments come after Jean Grey - who was killed off in 2006's 'X-Men: The Last Stand' - made a short cameo at the end of recent blockbuster 'X-Men: Days of Future Past', the events of which appeared to rewrite history and undo the deaths seen in past films.
The actress told the Metro newspaper: "It really left the door open and I loved 'Days of Future Past'. The idea of bringing back characters and putting different generations of one character in the same movie together is very interesting. It leaves things open for the future with when you want to set it and what characters might be featured.
"I don't know what's going to happen next but I hope it involves Jean Grey and that I can play that Jean Grey and it won't be a younger version."
However, Janssen says she'd come to terms with producers recasting the role as they've previously introduced younger versions of Magneto, Professor X and Mystique.
She added: "I'd understand it - we've seen it before with Mystique and Magneto at different ages - why not Jean Grey?"
The next 'X-Men' movie, 'X-Men: Apocalypse', is due for release in 2016.
Britain's Queen Elizabeth has opened the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
The 88-year-old monarch delivered an almost-year-old message during the ceremony at the Celtic Park stadium yesterday (23.07.14), which had been placed in a baton and carried by fans over a 10-month relay through 71 locations in the Commonwealth, reports Hello! Magazine.
Queen Elizabeth said: "At Buckingham Palace last October I placed this message into the specially-crafted baton and passed it to the first of many thousands of baton-bearers. Over the past 288 days the baton has visited all the nations and territories of the Commonwealth, crossing every continent in a journey of more than 100,000 miles.
"The baton relay represents a calling together of people from every part of the Commonwealth and serves as a reminder of our shared ideals and ambitions as a diverse, resourceful and cohesive family.
"And now, that baton has arrived here in Glasgow, a city renowned for its dynamic cultural and sporting achievements and for the warmth of its people, for this opening ceremony of the Friendly Games.'
Her Majesty was joined in front of the 40,000-strong crowd by her husband, Prince Philip, her eldest son Prince Charles, and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, as well as her youngest son the Earl of Wessex and his wife Sophie.
The Queen then went on to address around 4,500 sportsmen and women who are expected to take part in the Games, which runs from 23 July until 3 August.
She said: "To you, the Commonwealth athletes, I send my good wishes for success in your endeavours.
"Together, you all play a part in strengthening our friendships in this modern and vibrant association of nations."
Before announcing: "It now gives me the greatest pleasure to declare the 20th Commonwealth Games open."
Diane Parish has defended EastEnders' dramatic story lines.
The 44-year-old actress, who plays Ian Beale's (Adam Woodyatt) downtrodden fiancée Denise Fox in the BBC One soap, thinks the show wouldn't be as popular if it wasn't for its dark plot.
She told The Sun newspaper: "There is no drama if everybody is having a lovely time, singing happy songs."
Diane has played Denise on the series since May 2006, during which her character was abused by her ex-hubby Owen Turner (Lee Ross) and had a short-lived marriage to Kevin Wicks (Phil Daniels) which ended in his death.
She was also set to walk out on fiancé Ian - who recently cheated on her with ex-wife Jane - last month, but ultimately decided to stay with him after news broke of his daughter Lucy's grisly murder.
Diane explained that the increasingly glum plot is all the more "exciting" for her as she felt her story lines needed expanding,
She said: "I don't feel exhausted by all of this Lucy Beale murder drama - I feel revived! It's no secret that I had been quite quiet in the show for a while, so when I heard about this storyline and what our new boss Dominic [Treadwell-Collins] had planned for Denise, I was dead excited."

Kim Kardashian's daughter has taken her first steps.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star and her husband Kanye West are "so proud" of 13-month-old North after she walked unaided for the first time after a swimming lesson.
Kim announced her little girl had reached the milestone on her Instagram page, posting an adorable picture of her kissing the little girl, who was wrapped in a yellow towel.
She wrote: "Our baby girl finished one week of swimming lessons today then took her 1st steps right when she got out of the pool!!!! Mommy & Daddy are so proud of you!!!! Photo cred: Daddy (sic)"

Michael Moore's divorce has been finalised.
The 'Farenheit 9/11' filmmaker filed for divorce from Kathleen Glynn in June 2013 in Michigan's Antrim County, claiming at the time their 22-year union had broken down and there remained "no reasonable likelihood that the marriage" could be preserved, and documents posted to the county circuit court's website this week showed the divorce has been granted and the case is now closed.
A statement from the couple says they have "mutually and amicably" reached a settlement, despite reports of squabbling over the division of assets including nine houses.
The 60-year-old filmmaker's apparently lavish lifestyle has attracted some criticism from neighbours in his Michigan community for seemingly contradicting the values and ideals he expresses in his documentaries.
One store keeper told The Detroit News newspaper: "He criticises capitalism, but capitalism made him rich.
"Why he decided to live in this conservative area, I have no idea."
However, another local resident said: "I think he's earned it."
The 'Bowling For Columbine' director has previously addressed his wealth in 2011, admitting that while he earned millions, he "proudly" paid a seven-figure tax bill, set up a charity and refused to buy stock in certain corporations.
Naya Rivera tied the knot with Ryan Dorsey on the day she had planned to marry Big Sean.
The 'Glee' actress and rapper Sean ended their engagement in a bitter split in April and just three months later, Naya married longtime friend Ryan on July 19 in a surprise ceremony.
However, she and actor Ryan did have another reason for marrying on that day, with a friend telling Us Weekly: "July 19th is also Ryan's birthday, making this an even more joyous occasion."
And while Naya's surprise wedding shocked fans, her friends were even more bemused, as she didn't tell many of them that she was even dating Ryan.
A source said: "Naya didn't tell most of her friends that she was marrying Ryan Dorsey, let alone that she was dating him! The whole thing is a complete surprise."
While the blushing bride was tying the knot in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, her former fiance was nearby in Punta Mita, recording with Kanye West.
Naya, 27, has already changed her name to Naya Rivera Dorsey on Twitter and Instagram.
A source told E! News: "She's telling everyone she's really in love. She seems to believe it."
The insider confirmed that her friends were truly shocked, saying: "Even people who know her really well had no idea she was getting married.
"No one gets the timing, [she was devastated after the split from Big Sean]."
Katie Price will reportedly give birth with her husband Kieran Hayler by her side.
The former glamour model revealed earlier this year that Kieran, 27, had been having an affair with her best friend Jane Pountney and she later confessed he'd also cheated on her with another of her pals, Chrissy Thomas, but despite his philandering it appears she still wants him by her side when she gives birth to their second child next month.
A source told MailOnline: "Katie is booked in to have her baby at a private London hospital in the middle of August and Kieran is booked in too."
The 36-year-old star claimed she was planning to divorce her former stripper husband when she first found out about his "full blown sexual affair" with Jane, but she's now confessed she's willing to work on their relationship as she feels his infidelity wasn't completely his own fault.
Speaking previously, she said: "It's amazing how strong you have to be and this is real life and you have to get on with it.
"In the beginning I was ready to divorce Kieran. Now I've learnt more about [sex addiction], I thought, 'Did I do something wrong? I put on a bit of weight'.
"Now I realise it was nothing to do with me, if it wasn't one of my friends it would have been someone else."
Meanwhile, Katie - who has 11-month-old son Jett with Kieran as well as sons Harvey, 15, Junior, nine, and seven-year-old daughter Princess from previous relationships - is reportedly selling her £2 million mansion in West Sussex, South East England as she "wants a fresh start and to forget about what happened".
Loveable Rogues no longer speak to Simon Cowell.
The 'Britain's Got Talent' boy band, who were briefly signed to Simon's label SYCO Records, have admitted they don't have much contact with their former boss anymore after being dropped by his label in 2013.
Quizzed if they still speak to Simon, Te Qhairo Eugene exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "No, no, not necessarily."
The 'Love Sick' group - also consisting of Eddie Brett and Sonny Jay Muharrem - last bumped into the 'BGT' judge at a One Direction concert earlier this year and were happy to see him enjoying family life with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman and their five-month-old baby, Eric.
Eddie said: "The last time we saw him would have been at a 1D gig."
Te added: "He's got a kid now, a kid and a girlfriend ... it actually looks well sweet. We were at the One Direction gig and he was there also and he was like a couple of rows above us and he was there with his fiancée or girlfriend and the kid, and it was actually cute. It was like a little family and I was like, 'Aww.' "
Loveable Rogues' album 'This and That' is out on August 11.
Jack P. Shepherd's on-screen son is to attend his drama school.
The 'Coronation Street' actor - who plays David Platt on the ITV soap - has taken Harry McDermott, his son Max in the show, under his wing and the youngster will begin taking classes at the performing arts academy he runs with fiancée Lauren Shippey.
Jack explained: "From September, Harry's coming to the drama school I run.
"He'll be able to bring his scripts in so I can help him prepare, which will be perfect. But he's already very good - I'm just trying to help him and give him a few tips where I can, to make it as natural as possible."
The actor did, however, say that his young co-star is already very capable.
He told Inside Soap magazine: "Harry always knows his lines and exactly where he should be on set for the cameras - he's picking it all up very fast.
"And it's not very difficult to make him laugh when the script demands it!"
It was announced recently that the character of Max is set to be diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and his mum Kylie Platt - played by Paula Lane - will become addicted to his medicine.
