Britain's Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla attended the Highland Games yesterday (14.08.14).
The royal couple - who are known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay in Scotland - arrived at Ballater's Monaltrie Park at around midday and were welcomed by the combined Pipe Bands of Ballater & District, 47 Culter Boys Brigade, Kintore & District and Towie & District entering the ring, before visited the Information tent to view an exhibition of historical photographs.
Ballater Local History Group chairman Alastair Cassie said: "They loved the photos. Camillla said she wished she'd brought her glasses."
The pair were joined at the event by Camilla's daughter Laura Lopes and her children Eliza, six, and twins Gus and Louis, five.
The youngsters seemed delighted to see their grandparents, with one of the twins wrapping his arms around Charles' leg and Eliza playing curiously with the sporran the prince was wearing with his kilt.
The royal couple - who are currently holidaying at their Scottish home of Birkhall - were also seen toasting with a glass of whiskey and met with many local stallholders, including the Cambus O'May Cheese Co., who presented Charles with their wares.
The visit marked the first time Charles and Camilla have attended the Games, which celebrated its 150th anniversary this year.
James Middleton is expanding his marshmallow business.
The 27-year-old businessman - the younger brother of Britain's Duchess Catherine - has seen his company Boomf ship over two tonnes of sweet treats in less than a year and made over £100,000 in sales in its first three months, so he is now planning a store in New York and a factory in the US to ensure he can ship orders within three days.
Boomf charges £15 for a box of nine marshmallows - which are customised with pictures given by the buyer - which can be ordered online and shipped anywhere in the world.
James joked to CNN Money that one of the biggest perks of running the company is getting to do "continuity checks" on every batch of marshmallows that is dispatched from the factory.
However, he declined to answer when asked if his nephew, Catherine and Prince William's son Prince George, 12 months, had tried the sweets.
James has previously launched a number of cake-based ventures and thinks marshmallows are much more popular.
He explained: "Marshmallows are quite durable and they're just fun."
Boomf encourage customers to dunk their marshmallows in a comforting hot drink or roast them over the campfire.
However, James admitted: "I'm a burner."
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly desperate to meet Duchess Catherine.
The Hollywood couple - who raise children Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, eight, and five-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, together - are hoping for a private audience with the British royal when she visits Malta next month.
Brad and Angelina are said to still feel bad about accidentally snubbing the duchess by pulling out of an event attended by her and husband Prince William - with who she has son Prince George, 12 months - during their royal tour of North America in 2011.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "It's bothered Brad and Ange ever since but they're hoping to make amends now."
During their North American tour, Catherine - who was known as Kate Middleton before her marriage - struck up a friendship with Reese Witherspoon and it was claimed during her pregnancy that she had sought advice from the 'Legally Blonde' star, who has children Ava, 14, Deacon, 10, and Tennessee, 22 months.
A source previously said: "They have developed a very strong bond.
"Kate knows Reese would never reveal anything about their talks and Reese knows what it's like to live in the spotlight. They have a lot in common.
"Kate talks to Reese about all of her questions and concerns. She has become kind of an older sister Kate can confide in."
Billy Joel donated all the profits from a New York concert to an animal shelter.
The 'Uptown Girl' hitmaker has been hailed a "hero" by Beth Stern - the wife of controversial US DJ Howard Stern - after he gave the proceeds from his Madison Square Garden birthday show in May to help her with Bianca's Furry Friends, a facility at the North Shore Animal League America in the city that will provide a cage-free home for shelter cats and dogs.
She told Social Life magazine: "Billy is my hero. Howard and I call him 'Saint Billy.' Because of his huge donation, we are on target to break ground next spring!"
Beth also revealed Billy, 65, and his girlfriend Alexis Roderick have adopted two rescue dogs.
Meanwhile, the 'Piano Man' singer has put his Hamptons home up for sale again.
The 5,500 square foot property has been on and off the market several times for the past five years, and has now been relisted for just under $20 million.
For their money, the buyer would get four bedrooms, seven bathrooms, four fireplaces and a guest suite and, most impressively, a 145-foot beach with walls of windows looking out onto the ocean.
Nigel Planner says Rik Mayall's death has brought the Comic Strip gang closer together.
The 'Young Ones' actor - who was part of the alternative comedy group with the late star, along with Ade Edmondson, Peter Richardson, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders - admitted that the untimely death of their close pal has helped to cement their friendship.
Nigel told The Sun Newspaper: "It was a terrible shock and it still feels unreal he is no longer here. Everyone is reeling from the loss.
"But it has brought the Comic Strip gang and all our partners and kids together. We are all much closer now."
A memorial will be held for Rik - who was just 56 when he died of "acute cardiac arrest" following his early morning run at his home in Barnes, south-west London - next month and the BBC are in the process of making a programme in tribute to the late comedian.
Nigel, 61, said: "His funeral was deeply sad - everyone was in shock really. I hope at his memorial everyone will have had a chance to process it a bit and it will be more of a celebration of his life."
Katie Price is in talks to take part in 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The 36-year-old star - who gave birth to her and husband Kieran Hayler's second child last week - is said to have originally planned to take part in the upcoming series, which starts on Monday (18.08.14), but had to pull out because of her pregnancy.
But to ensure the mother-of-five can look after her newborn daughter, she's now said to be in negotiations to star in the next series - which will take place in January - in return for a large fee.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Kate has been high on the list of dream CBB contestants in every series. This time she is determined to make it."
It had been rumoured that Kieran - who Katie revealed earlier this year had been having an affair with two of her best friends - was set to compete on the Channel 5 show, but Katie claims he turned down the £200,000 offer.
Kieran would not be the first of Katie's lovers to take part in the reality series as her second husband Alex Reid won the show in 2010.
Meanwhile, magician Paul Daniels and his glamorous assistant Debbie McGee were said to be confirmed to enter the famous house next week but they've now denied the claims, saying: "We can't due to personal issues."
Other celebrities rumoured to be taking part include former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star Lauren Goodger, 'Gogglebox' character George Gilbey and Kelly Brook's fiance David McIntosh.
Bruno Tonioli wants to play a villain in a TV show.
The 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge - who is often cracking jokes on the BBC One ballroom show when giving his verdict on contestants' routines - admits he would love to portray a bad guy on the small screen because he is fed up of being so jolly all the time.
He said: "I think it is very juicy playing evil. I play nice all the time, so it would be nice playing the other side."
The 58-year-old choreographer admits he would take inspiration from Joan Collins' famous character Alexis Carrington, the protagonist in popular 1980s US soap 'Dynasty', for his own bad guy role.
He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I'd love to do a sitcom. I'd love to act.
"I'd like to be somebody very, very, evil. I would like to be a male version of Alexis Carrington, played by Joan Collins in 'Dynasty', anything that is kind of different, still with humour though."
As well as 'Strictly', Bruno is no stranger to starring in TV shows after making appearances in several including 'Absolutely Fabulous' in 2003.
He has also starred in a number of movies including 'Ella Enchanted' - which starred Anne Hathaway as the titular character - and 2001 comedy movie 'The Parole Officer'.
Former 'Strictly Come Dancing' professional Artem Chigvintsev has joined the line-up of 'Dancing with the Stars'.
The Latin dance expert has announced he will be partnering a celebrity on the programme - the US version of the BBC ballroom competition - and he can't wait for it to kick-off this September.
Artem revealed the news on his Twitter account, writing: "I very excited to be joining the pro line up for DWTS season 19 - bring it on!"
The Russian star was immediately congratulated by fellow former 'Strictly Come Dancing' pro James Jordan - who also will not be taking part in the BBC show this week.
James tweeted: "I'm so happy for my mate @artemchigvintse for joining DWTS!!! An amazing dancer and choreographer.
You will be sorely missed in this country. (sic)"
As well as the departures of Artem and James, professional dancer Robin Windsor has withdrawn from this year's 'Strictly Come Dancing' this year.
The performer - who has featured on the programme since 2010 - had to pull out after suffering a bad back injury on the last series.
He said: "It's been a really difficult decision but I plan to focus 100 per cent on my recovery and hope to be back in the ballroom as soon as possible, doing what I love best.
"In the mean time I wish the cast and crew best of luck with the new series which I'll be watching every week."
Robin is being replaced by Australian dancer Trent Whiddon, who has appeared on 'Dancing with the Stars' in the US and Australia.
Tori Spelling is "proud" her marriage is back on track.
The 'Beverly Hills 90210' actress was left devastated when husband Dean McDermott - with who she has children Liam, seven, Stella, six, Hattie, two, and Finn, 23 months - admitted to cheating on her last year but she says they have been working hard and are now "doing really well".
She wrote on her blog: "As all of you know, our family has been through a lot this last year. I'm happy and proud to say that we are doing really well, and that Dean and I are working very hard to make our relationship and our family better than ever."
The 41-year-old star - whose marriages woes were chronicled on reality show 'True Tori' - is particularly proud of Dean, who sought treatment in rehab after being unfaithful, for trying to change and is delighted the 'Top Chef' host is returning to blogging.
She added: "I'm proud of Dean for all of the hard work he's been doing on himself, and I'm excited that he is back to blogging over on The Gourmet Dad!
"Dean will be blogging about everything from food to family to fitness. He'll even be talking about his sobriety and keeping everyone updated on how he is doing. To celebrate getting back to blogging, he's running a fun giveaway... You don't want to miss it."
