Gwyneth Paltrow was "reprimanded" for taking her children to school on a scooter.
The ‘Iron Man 3’ actress and estranged husband Chris Martin had been using Vespas to take Apple, 10, and Moses, eight, to the Los Angeles building but after TMZ revealed the blonde beauty had a near-miss with a bus while riding one of the vehicles with one of her kids, the couple were reportedly advised to find a new mode of transport.
A source told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: "The scooters had been convenient for zipping around Los Angeles traffic, and dropping the kids off at school without having to wait with other parents and kids in the car-pool line.
"But after Gwyneth was photographed on the Vespa pulling out in front of a bus, school chiefs reprimanded her and said they’d rather she and Chris didn’t bring the kids to school on scooters."
Gwyneth admitted earlier this month that the children had only just begun taking a school bus and it has given the youngsters new independence.
She said: "Actually, this is their first year on the bus. They take the bus and then I pick them up at the bus stop. It’s pretty cute. They feel very independent . . . It was great. They seemed really happy. They got off the bus. They were smiling. They had backpacks."
A spokesperson for the 41-year-old actress insisted the claims are false.
They said: "This story is not true. It was last year that they would occasionally drive the kids to school on scooters. This year, the kids take the bus."
