Tyler Perry is to become a father.
The television writer and producer let slip that his on-off girlfriend, model Gelila Bekele, is pregnant with his first child as he celebrated his 45th birthday at a party with his close friends.
According to the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column, a source said: "He said he had to start getting used to not getting a lot of sleep, because his life was about to change in a big way. He said, 'Some of you know what I'm talking about.'"
The news follows rumours that Gelila, 28, was expecting after close friends of the couple accidentally posted messages of congratulations on social media, with one even posting a picture of the mother-to-be and commenting that she was 7 months along and expecting a boy, before the image was quickly deleted.
Tyler - who is yet to confirm the news - has previously expressed his desire to become a father but insisted he didn't have the time for parenthood.
He said last year: "I know I would be a great father. I don't want to work this hard, I don't want to have all this and not leave it to my children. I also know, that as hard as I'm working -- doing 20 hours a day -- now is not the time."

Amber Rose has been left "devastated" by her split from Wiz Kalifa.
The 30-year-old model - who filed for divorce from the 'Black and Yellow' hitmaker yesterday (24.09.14) over suspicions he had been unfaithful to her - took to Twitter today to express her sadness at the breakdown of their marriage and thanked those who had offered her support.
Amber - who has a 19-month-old son Sebastian with the 27-year-old rapper - also slammed "fake" rumours which allege she had grown close to Nick Cannon following his split from Mariah Carey.
She wrote earlier today(25.09.14): "Please stop with the fake stories. I would never ever ever cheat on my husband in a million years I think u guys know this.....
"Unfortunately my now ex husband can't say the same....
"I'm devastated and crushed but my main focus is Sebastian. Thank u for all the support in this difficult time.(sic)"
It is thought the US-born beauty filed for divorce after growing tired of the 'We Dem Boyz' hitmaker 's flimsy excuses for why she couldn't join him on the road and grew increasingly suspicious of his behaviour when he began his tour in July and refused to let her attend.
According to court documents, obtained by gossip website TMZ.com, the stunning blonde cites irreconcilable differences and wants full legal and physical custody of Sebastian, but is willing to give Wiz visitation access.
Sources close to the former couple say their split is bitter amid rumours Amber recently started hanging out with Nick Cannon following his separation from his wife Mariah Carey.
However, those close to Nick - who has three-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with the 'We Belong Together' singer - have rubbished the claims.
An insider insists the 'America's Got Talent' star only learned that Amber was having marriage troubles last week through her lawyers when he signed her on as a client.
They said: "That's when Nick says he found out her marriage was on the rocks and only then did the two share break-up stories."

Kim Kardashian has been attacked at Paris Fashion Week.
The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star was making her way to the Balmain SS15 show in the French capital with her husband, Kanye West, earlier today (25.09.14) when she was ambushed by renowned Hollywood prankster Vitalii Sediuk who attempted to knock her off her feet.
The Ukranian-born media personality, 25, is believed to have moved towards the reality TV star as she exited her car and tackled her causing her to fall backwards as the brunette beauty's mother, Kris Jenner, can be heard shouting, "Stop it!".
Kim, 33, was quickly grabbed by bodyguards, who shielded her from the attack and helped her make her way through the crowd into the show, according to a video obtained by gossip website TMZ.com.
The prank is Vitalii's first following his claims in July he had entered into "retirement" and apologised to his celebrity victims.
The former journalist - who also scaled a barrier at the 'Maleficent' premiere to confront Brad Pitt and has previously accosted stars including Bradley Cooper, Leonardo DiCaprio and Will Smith at red carpet events - insisted he had changed his ways and was moving to London to launch a modelling career.
He said at the time: "Basically, I'm changing my life. I would like to thank Hollywood for having me this two years and a half. It was an experience that taught me a lot in life. Most importantly, I would like to say sorry for celebrities that had to deal with my stunts and thank them for being tolerant to me all this time."
TMZ.com also reports that reps for Vitalii have been in contact to confirm he is taking credit for the incident.

Rod Stewart is being sued for $10,000 after breaking a fan's nose with a soccer ball.
The 'Maggie May' hitmaker was performing a show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in October 2012 when he forcefully kicked the ball into the audience and hit an onlooker in the face.
Fan Mostafa Kashe is now claiming the staggering sum to compensate for his lost wages, his cosmetic surgery bills and his attorney fees following the incident.
According to the Reno Gazette-Journal, the 53-year-old electrical engineer claims the 69-year-old singer was "negligent, careless and/or reckless" in his actions causing him to be "unexpectedly hit in the face" with the flying ball.
The civil negligence lawsuit, filed by Mostafa at the Clark County district court in Nevada, reads: "Stewart has significant experience in the sport of soccer and experience in kicking soccer balls, having previously tried out for a professional soccer team in the UK and regularly playing in amateur soccer leagues since his youth.
"Stewart either knew or should have known that his actions could cause injury to unsuspecting patrons of his concerts."
He is also reported to be suing Caesars Palace and concert promoters AEG Live.
Meanwhile, Rod - who often kicks signed soccer balls out into the crowd during his gigs - reportedly told The Daily Record that his shows wouldn't be the same if he was to stop the tradition.
He said: "The show wouldn't be the show if I stopped kicking out those footballs. It would be like not playing Maggie May."

Venice's streets are being closed ahead of George Clooney's wedding to Amal Alamuddin.
The Italian city's officials have confirmed two picturesque walkways alongside the Grand Canal will be cornered off on Monday (29.09.14) to keep crowds away from the star-studded ceremony.
According to an order issued to the city by police earlier today (25.09.14), the two walkways which lead up to the 16th Century Cavalli Palace will be closed for "the George Clooney Wedding", as authorities are worried gathering onlookers could cause overcrowding and pose a healthy and safety risk.
However, officers insist it isn't the first time the streets around the luxurious Palace have been closed as its stunning views over the Canal itself and proximity to the world famous Rialto Bridge make it a popular destination for marriage services and public events, reports Access Hollywood.
Meanwhile, the 53-year-old actor and his human rights lawyer fiancee were recently given the go ahead to tie the knot by Amal's father, Ramzi, who couldn't be "more delighted" about the upcoming nuptials.
A source told People magazine: "Ramzi couldn't seem more delighted.
"He finds Clooney very sympathetic, intelligent, cool, easygoing and crazy in love with Amal!"
The 77-year-old lecturer has been help planning the couple's wedding but has refused to spill any of the details to his friends.
The source said: "He is extremely calm.
"He's not saying a thing about the wedding. He's a card player and he's not giving away anything away!"
Despite George's $180 million fortune, it was recently reported Amal's parents were insisted on sticking to tradition and paying for the wedding.
A source said: "Crazy enough, her family is paying for most of it!"

will.i.am unveiled his custom-designed Lexus NX in Paris last night (25.09.14).
The 39-year-old singer hosted a special event at exclusive venue Pavillion Cambon in the French capital, where he turned up on the stage inside the impressive vehicle, a special edition Lexus NX 200t F SPORT, before getting out of the car and putting on a scintillating DJ set for the 600-strong crowd.
Earlier in the evening, will admitted he was conscious about making too many changes to the original motor because he didn't want his version of the car, which features four external cameras enabling panoramic pictures to be captured while driving and then sent to a phone, to be like a "Frankenstein"-type vehicle.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the event, he said: "I didn't want to make a Frankenstein, I just wanted to enhance.
"The NX is an amazing design by default so if that's the default then I thought why can't we make it better. Why wasn't it wider?
"I'm pretty sure my design isn't too different from the original design. Because the designer was like, 'Yes, it's sexy, there are striking angles.' "
The Black Eyed Peas frontman admitted there were certain elements of the black and white car he wanted to alter, such as making it even wider than his final effort, but he wasn't able to due to safety concerns.
He added: "You have your ideas but then you take it to market and then it changes.
"If we widen it then we have to lower it so can we chop the window? Then they say, 'Well, we can't do that because then we're going to have air bag problems and we've already passed all the safety stuff.'
"But if you want to be disrespectful then you say, 'Who gives a f**k? Let's cut the air bags.' But you can't do that."
will wowed the crowd with an entertaining DJ set that saw him play several of his own tracks including '#thatPOWER' and a selection of Black Eyed Peas hits such as 'I Gotta Feeling'.
He had the audience chuckling at one stage when he changed some of the words to his and Britney Spears' collaboration 'Scream and Shout', replacing her name with Lexus by shouting "will.i.am and Lexus, bitch".
Other features of will's NX include an ultra wide body kit, a custom-built steering wheel and hand embroidered Nappa leather interior with his 'willpower' logo and huge 22-inch alloy wheels.

Brad Pitt's first girlfriend has praised him as "every woman's dream".
Kim Bell - whose maiden name was Hubbard before she wed late husband Howard - dated the 'Moneyball' hunk for two years from the ages of 13 and 15 when they were students at Kickapoo High School in Springfield, Missouri, and she couldn't have asked for a nicer first love.
She told National Enquirer magazine: "He's every woman's dream!
"Brad was a good first boyfriend. I think everybody knew he would be successful in whatever he would do. He had leadership skills. He was sweet and kind."
Kim, 50, admitted she and her husband used to joke about her childhood romance and insists her spouse was never jealous.
She said: "Howard wasn't jealous. We'd watch Brad's movies and joke about it."
Brad recently married second wife Angelina Jolie - with who he raises six children - and his childhood sweetheart thinks he has found "the right one for him."
And Angelina's dad Jon Voight recently admitted he was delighted they had tied the knot after nine years together.
He said: "I'm very happy about it, I'm very happy that I can now legitimately call him my son-in-law, this wonderful fellow who I love, and that they're very happy and the kids must have had a wonderful time at the wedding because they all had their things to do. It must have been very beautiful, I'm very happy for them."

Ed Sheeran believes people only think he's sexy because of his music.
The 'Drunk' hitmaker found it "flattering" when People magazine included him in its Sexiest Man Alive list last year, because he sees it as a sign of his talent as he doesn't think he'd be found attractive otherwise.
He told 'Nightline': "I've never seen myself as a sex symbol, and I think if I didn't play music no one else would [see me that way] either.
"We're attracted to people who are good at things. So being in that People magazine thing is very flattering, because it means people think I'm good at my craft. But I would never say that I'm a sex symbol."
The 23-year-old singer - who is in a relationship with Athina Andrelos - has a host of famous friends, including Taylor Swift, Pharrell Williams, Coldplay's Chris Martin, and Sir Elton John, and he is always happy to turn to them for advice.
He said: "The same thing Taylor said to me was the same thing Pharrell said, same thing Chris Martin said, is just the same thing: Constant humility, constant evolution and be a sponge, soak up your influences.
"Elton John is someone who has done everything right in his career, and everything wrong in his career. He made so many mistakes that he could talk about freely and that's good advice."

Zac Efron is the "furthest thing from a prima donna", according to director Max Joseph.
The 26-year-old actor is currently filming for Max's movie, 'We Are Your Friends', and has been praised by the filmmaker for his professionalism and chirpy mood.
The 'Catfish' host told MTV: "He's amazing. He is a world-class person. He's the first person to say hello to everyone and he's the furthest thing from a prima donna.
"He's extremely professional, always in a good mood and keeps things light. He loves the crew. He's a trooper, and we have a good time."
Max also revealed that the pair work well together and insists he couldn't have had anyone better than Zac to support him in the making of his first feature film.
He explained: "We talk about a lot of stupid stuff outside of the film and show each other videos about other movies and characters and shots that we like.
"He's just been a great collaborator, and I couldn't ask for anything more from the star of my first feature. He really is bringing everything he's got."
Meanwhile, Max is convinced that Zac's role as a struggling DJ in 'We Are Your Friends' will show fans a different side of the '17 Again' star.
He added: "People are going to be really pleasantly surprised. It's a balanced performance, and I think people are going to wake up and say 'Holy s**t, Zac Efron!'
"He was funny in 'Bad Neighbours' and great elsewhere, but this movie really steps up his game."

Matt Damon "owes everything" to Robin Williams.
The 'Bourne Identity' actor and friend Ben Affleck launched their careers with 1997 movie 'Good Will Hunting' - which they wrote and starred in - and he doesn't think he would have enjoyed the life he has since then if the late actor hadn't agreed to take on a starring role.
He said: "Ben (Affleck) and I owe everything to him. He said yes to our movie and he got it made. I could never thank him enough. I look around at the life I have and how blessed I feel and so much of it started with him."
The 43-year-old actor was "shocked" when Robin, 63, committed suicide last month and hopes the tragedy will raise awareness of depression and how debilitating it can be.
Speaking to Yahoo! News' Katie Couric, he said: "I was shocked. I hadn't been in touch with him and obviously, he was battling severe depression and I hope it can start a conversation in the country about depression, just how serious it is and what an exceptionally powerful disease that it is.
"I think it affected everybody in the country actually. We all felt like we knew him and he was a part of our lives."
Matt went on to praise the 'Mrs. Doubtfire' star as the "funniest person" he ever met who could always lift the spirits of those around him.
He said: "He was the funniest person I ever met in my life. He was the guy who, when the crew was flagging, would stop everything and do 20 minutes of stand-up off the top of his head that literally had everybody on the floor and we were like, 'Ok, let's get back to work'.
"He was amazingly generous with that time he gave to help other people but just in life, if you walked down the street and if somebody stopped him he would talk to that person, he engaged with every single person and he understood at some level, the impact that he had on people. He could see people light up when they saw him.
"I think that is what I carry with me... the joy he brought in my life."

Ridley Scott has confirmed the sequel to 'Prometheus' will not feature any of the Xenomorph aliens.
The 76-year-old filmmaker says the classic HR Giger 'Alien' design will not appear in the much-anticipated sequel.
Speaking to Yahoo, Scott explained: "The beast is done, cooked."
He added: "I got lucky meeting Giger all those years ago. It's very hard to repeat that. I just happen to be the one who forced it through because they said it's obscene. They didn't want to do it and I said, 'I want to do it, it's fantastic'.
"But after four, I think it wears out a little bit. There's only so much snarling you can do. I think you've got to come back with something more interesting. And I think we've found the next step. I thought the engineers were quite a good start."
Scott's next release is 'Exodus: Gods and Kings', which he's described as the "biggest" movie he's ever made.
The film centres on Moses' hand in leading the Israelite slaves out of Egypt.
He explained: "Well, in terms of the metaphorical aspects, yes [this is the biggest project I've done]. Even budgetarily it's probably the biggest, yeah.
"But I didn't approach it as my biggest. I never do that. I always approach it from the point of view of the characters, of the story."

Christopher Nolan says his new sci-fi film 'Interstellar' is like "a mirror image" of 'Inception'.
The new film concerns a group of astronauts who travel through a wormhole in a bid to save an Earth devoid of its natural resources - and Nolan explained that the new movie was inspired by sci-fi movies from his childhood.
Speaking to Empire magazine, the 44-year-old director said: "It expands out in the way Inception contracts inwards, it's a very classically constructed movie, but the freshness of the narrative elements really enhance it.
"I liken it to the blockbusters I grew up with as a kid, family films in the best sense: edgy, incisive, challenging."
The much-hyped film boasts an impressive cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain, as well as Casey Affleck, Matt Damon and Michael Caine.
Of the film, 44-year-old McConaughey said: "This is the grandest adventure I think any of us will ever see on film.
"This is the biggest film I've ever been a part of. This is one of the biggest films anyone's ever been a part of."
'Interstellar', which is based on scientific theories from physicist Kip Thorne, opens on November 7.
