Lynda Bellingham hopes to reunite with late father

Lynda Bellingham hopes to be reunited with her long-lost father when she dies.
On September 28, 2014, the former 'Loose Women' presenter announced that she would be stopping the chemotherapy to treat her terminal bowel cancer, leaving her with just a few weeks to live.
Now the 66-year-old actress and television personality - who was adopted by British parents shortly after being born - has revealed that she hopes to meet her biological father in heaven.
In her autobiography, 'Memoir', Lynda has explained how she wishes she could have met her Canadian father, Carl Seymour Hutton.
She wrote: "I am drawn once again to how my life began and where I came from, and in particular who my birth father really was.
"Now I long to talk to him, to show him what I have achieved."
In an open letter to her late father - who passed away 50 years ago - she wrote: "I hope you can look down and see my world. I have worked so hard to get it right before I go and I hope there is a way you can look after them all, just as I will be doing from wherever I am off to. Who knows, we might just meet in the middle."
Speaking about her death, Lynda admitted: "I'm quite nervous about saying goodbye but I don't fear death. I'm not religious but I am a Christian, and I like to think there's somewhere else to go."

Jack P. Shepherd quits Twitter

Jack P. Shepherd has quit Twitter.
The 'Coronation Street' actor - who stars as tearaway David Platt in the ITV soap - has shut down his account on the social networking site following weeks of controversy.
Last month he was bombarded with death threats following a number of Tweets in which he joked about a fire at a Manchester Dog's home, where approximately 50 animals are reported to have died.
However, although Corrie bosses are said to have warned the star that his behaviour would not be tolerated and threatened him with a fine for any further issues, it was not until recently that he decided to stop using the site.
His decision appears to have come just days after Sammy Wilewski - with whom Jack had a one-night-stand with while married to wife Lauren Shippey - revealed he refuses to see the child he fathered with her.
Jack - who also has two children with wife Lauren - reportedly gives Sammy money towards three-year-old Greyson's upbringing but refuses to meet him.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Jack pays child maintenance for Greyson but that's it.
"He portrays himself as a family man, yet he's able to erase one of his children from his life."

Broadchurch uses secret codes to protect script

The cast of 'Broadchurch' use secret codes to protect the show's scripts.
David Tennant - who is set to reprise his role as Detective Inspector Hardy for the second series of the ITV drama - has admitted security is so tight on the hotly-anticipated follow-up that he is forced to type in a special password whenever he opens an email regarding the show.
The 43-year-old actor failed to share details about his part in the latest instalment and joked about the lengths show bosses have gone to to ensure top secret details about the series are kept on set.
He told The Sun newspaper: "I'm in it - I think that's essentially all I can say."
He jokingly added: "We're all tagged and it sets off electric shocks if we say anything we shouldn't."
However, fans should expect a "pretty gruesome" follow-up after David dropped hints about the plot while discussing filming over the summer.
Meanwhile, the former 'Doctor Who' star is also starring in the US remake of the murder mystery show, entitled 'Gracepoint', which premiered last week.
The Scottish actor - who portrays Emmett Carver opposite Anna Gunn as Ellie Miller in the drama - admitted it was an "odd" experience remaking the same show alongside a different cast and in a new setting but says that was part of the project's appeal.
He said: "It's such an odd thing to be asked to do. To kind of reshoot something that was in many ways the same, but not really. I don't even know how to relay it. I'm not aware if this has ever been done before -- therefore, I think it would have been churlish to say no to doing it, don't you think?' "

Jessica Chastain’s joy on set

Jessica Chastain felt like she was "celebrating life" every day working with James McAvoy.
The 37-year-old actress stars alongside the Scottish actor in 'The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby' and though she kept getting the giggles when shooting scenes with him, her laughter was often kept in because it added to their dialogue.
She recalled: "I actually had difficulty keeping a straight face especially because James McAvoy is super, super funny, and he improvs a lot.
"There's a lot of me breaking, but doing it in character that actually made it into the film. There's a scene where we're kissing in the car and he's putting my bra on me. He says something like, 'I think I've been programmed to not be able to do this.' And he starts going off about how he only knows how to take off a bra.
"I looked at him, like, 'You're so stupid,' and started laughing. That's in the film. James has so much lightness and love around him that, even when we were working on the difficult, sad scenes, between takes we had a feeling of celebrating life."
Jessica is best known for appearing in dark, serious movies such as 'Zero Dark Thirty' and 'The Debt' and admits she can't help but "live the emotion" she experiences on set.
She told Interview magazine: "With any kind of acting, you're basically living the emotion that you're going to work in every day, so sometimes I'm like, 'I am so tired of crying, how great would it be to experience joy and laughter every day?'."

Jeff Daniels offered role in The Martian

Jeff Daniels has begun talks over appearing in Ridley Scott's new film, 'The Martian'.
Daniels, 59, could star in the new flick alongside the likes of Jessica Chastain and Kate Mara, who have also be offered roles in the sci-fi movie.
The Hollywood Reporter says Matt Damon, 43, will play the role of an astronaut stranded on Mars who must work out how to survive long enough so that he can to return home to Earth, while Daniels will play the head of NASA.
In the short term, however, Daniels is set to appear in 'Dumb and Dumber To', alongside comedy legend Jim Carey.
The duo will reprise the characters they played in the original 'Dumb and Dumber', which was released in 1994.
Daniels and Carey, 54, recently appeared at the MTV Video Music Awards, where they presented the prize for Best Pop Video to Ariana Grande for 'Problem'.
However, the occasion was most notable for Carey slipping and stumbling backwards towards the audience as he pranced around with a scarf whilst presenting the gong.
He quipped: "I meant to do that!"
Jeff added: "It was planned! We rehearsed that."
'Dumb and Dumber To' will be released in the US next month.

Hugh Grant is ‘too good looking’

Richard Curtis has responded to Hugh Grant's comments regarding his role in 'Four Weddings and a Funderal', saying he was initially "too good looking" for his liking.
Last week, Grant explained that he wasn't first choice to appear in the iconic film, claiming Curtis, 57, did everything in his power to stop him from getting the part of Charles.
He said: "I think they wanted someone rather more middle of the road and thought I was too hoity-toity posh. But I got the part in the end because I don't think they could find anyone else!"
However, speaking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, Curtis explained he was reluctant see Grant, 54, fill the role because he was too handsome.
He explained: "The absolutely key thing for that film when I was writing it was that the person who was playing the lead would not be good looking. That was the absolute starting thesis of the film.
"So when finally we'd auditioned every single young person in the country and we were voting, me, Mike [Newell, the director] and Duncan [Kenworthy, producer], two people voted for Hugh - that was them. And I voted for someone else."
'Four Weddings and a Funeral' was the first of several films by Curtis to feature Grant, with more recent examples including 'Notting Hill' and 'Love Actually'.

Simon Cowell apologies for animal cruelty scenes

Simon Cowell has pledged to bring the issue of animal cruelty to a "mass audience" following a recent controversy on 'The X Factor'.
Cowell, 54, felt it necessary to apologise last week after it emerged that the ITV spin-off show 'The Xtra Factor' had filmed scenes of contestants attending a dolphin show and swimming with the animals.
The incident led to 7,000 complaints against the airing of the footage and Cowell has vowed to address the issue properly through a new "project".
He tweeted: "I hope to announce a project in the near future which will bring the issues of dolphins and whales in captivity to a mass audience."
Cowell added: "It's something we have been working on for a while."
The music mogul is a long-time supporter of animal rights group PETA and his recent tweets follow an apology he issued last week, which read: "Reading your tweets. I had no idea Xtra Factor producers filmed with dolphins. This will NOT be showed on Saturday. (sic)"
He said: "I think you all know my view on cruelty to animals so thank you all for your concern."

Katy Perry asks sportsman out

Katy Perry asked a footballer out on live TV.
The 'Dark Horse' singer was asked to make predictions during 'College GameDay' on ESPN at the weekend and picked the winner between Oklahoma Sooners and TCU Horned Frogs based on hunky quarterback Trevor Knight, 21.
She said:"I'm picking this one based on looks. Trevor Knight, do you hear me?
"The quarterback for Oklahoma, we don't mind. So I'm going to go with him. Trevor Knight, call me!"
Trevor hasn't responded publicly to Katy, 29, but his older brother Tyler admitted the sportsman was "flattered" by her comments though he isn't interested as he has a girlfriend.
However, the 23-year-old farmer told TMZ he would love to take Trevor's place - but he admitted he is the "black sheep" of the family and doesn't have much in common with his younger sibling, or the footballer's twin brother Connor.
Meanwhile, the 'Roar' hitmaker - who was previously married to Russell Brand and dated John Mayer - is enjoying life on the road on her 'Prismatic' tour and was particularly excited to be in Memphis, Tennessee, yesterday (05.10.14) as she was to receive some special tuition.
She tweeted: "SO happy that my tour gets to learn the gift of Transcendental Meditation today! Imagine the[energy] that's gonna come out of us moving forward!
"Also SO happy to be in MEMPHIS, my Pappa's hometown! Gonna get some ribs and soak up some blues after...(sic)"

Kris Jenner grateful for family

Kris Jenner "thanks God" for her "amazing family" every day.
The showbiz matriarch - who has kids Khloe, Kim, Kourtney and Rob Kardashian with late ex-husband Robert Kardashian and Kendall and Khloe Jenner with estranged spouse Bruce Jenner - is devoted to her children and grateful they have all grown up to be wonderful people.
She said: "I feel so blessed to have such an amazing family. I really do. I thank God every day."
The family's lives have been chronicled in reality show 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians', as well as a number of spin-offs, since 2007, and Kris admits it has been "such a great ride", though she knows it will come to an end eventually.
However, she also admitted she worried the show was "going to get dusty" but then her daughter Kourtney and partner Scott Disick welcomed their son Mason, now four, into the world, followed by their daughter Penelope, two, and Kim and her husband Kanye West's 15-month-old daughter North, and freshened the saga again.
Kris - who will become a grandmother again when Kourtney gives birth to her third child in a few months time - said on 'Beyond Candid With Giuliana': "They just keep making more babies, and there's always another story."

Kelly Brook has been texting her ex-boyfriend

Kelly Brook has been texting her ex-boyfriend.
The 34-year-old beauty split from fiance David McIntosh late last month amid allegations he'd cheated on her and she's now said to have gotten back in touch with former flame Thom Evans, who recently started dating his 'Strictly Come Dancing' partner Iveta Lukosiute.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Kelly has been texting Thom to show she's backing him on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
"She has been keeping up to date with 'Strictly' even though she's been in the States. She's always been close to Thom but stayed clear when she was with David.
"She texts Thom after the show to congratulate him on his dancing."
Meanwhile, Kelly - who recently revealed in her autobiography 'Kelly Brook: Close Up' that she'd suffered two miscarriages while dating Thom - is said to be house hunting in Los Angeles, where she's currently filming US sitcom 'One Big Happy'.
A source close to Kelly told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "England will always be Kelly's home but 'One Big Happy' looks like it is the start of her really cracking the States so she is very seriously considering a permanent move over to Hollywood."
The show's executive producer, US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres, has reportedly been encouraging Kelly to take the leap.
The source added: "Ellen has been so supportive of her. Not only has she been completely behind her with her career but also with her romantic life falling apart."
