Duchess Catherine’s stylist didn’t recognise her

Richard Ward, the hair stylist of Britain's Duchess Catherine, didn't realise who she was for years.
Ward, who styled the 32-year-old's hair on the day of her marriage to Prince William in 2011, admits it took him a long time to realise she was even famous.
He explained to Stuff.co.nz: "I remember looking over my shoulder and one of our junior stylists had been cutting her hair...I said, 'Is that Prince William's girlfriend, Kate Middleton?' I certainly made sure I knew her after that."
Ward explained that he did lots of preparation work before he styled Duchess Catherine's hair for her wedding.
Ward said he practiced up to 15 times on his red-haired personal assistant Sam.
He remarked: "It was top secret what I was doing, and I'd just practice and practice... I was actually practicing with a €12 tiara that you'd buy on the high street anywhere.
"You can't faff around on the morning of the royal wedding, the timings are to the last second."
Ward, whose salon is based in west London, lists the likes of Liz Hurley, Kim Cattrall and Pippa Middleton among his other clients.

Prince Harry enjoys holiday break in South Africa

Britain's Prince Harry has gone on holiday to South Africa with friends.
The royal, who recently helped organised the Invictus Games in London and also celebrated his 30th birthday, is thought to have travelled to Johannesburg Airport with friends but without either Chelsy Davy or Cressida Bonas, his two love interests.
A source told the Daily Mirror: "It's been a busy few months for Harry and he's taking the opportunity to have a break."
Harry is is huge fan of South Africa, having spent a number of weeks backpacking through the country in 2010, and it's thought he's keen to enjoy the beautiful wildlife and the sunshine on offer.
In fact, he's previously said that if he wasn't a royal, he would probably have pursued a career as a safari guide.
Asked what he'd do with his life in that scenario, Harry remarked: "I'd probably live in Africa.
"I'd like to spend all my time out there. As a job it would probably be a safari guide."
Speculation increased last month that Harry and Cressida, 25, had reunited after they were spotted on a date at a cinema in west London.

Nancy Birtwhistle crowned winner of The Great British Bake Off

Nancy Birtwhistle has been crowned winner of 'The Great British Bake Off'.
The keen cake maker shocked viewers of the BBC One baking competition last night (08.10.14) when she fought off stiff competition from rivals Richard Burr and Luis Troyano to take home the winners trophy.
Judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry insist they made the right decision in crowning her champion, despite Richard having won star baker five times and Luis consistently producing extraordinary bakes throughout the competition.
Nancy said of her victory: "I don't know how I'm feeling really, absolutely overwhelmed and a bit emotional. Who could believe it that I could win?!"
Paul and Mary revealed in the final that they were in total agreement about who they thought should win after tasting Nancy's Moulin Rouge-inspired "showstopper", describing her as having "instinct" and being a "perfectionist".
Paul, 48, said: "Everything just joined together for the final, Nancy absolutely nailed it."
Meanwhile, Nancy's former Bake Off competitors including Chetna Makan and Martha Collison have spoken out to congratulate her on her success.
Martha wrote on Twitter: "Nancy, I knew you would win from the moment I met you. Consistantly brilliant and the worthiest winner! #GBBO (sic)"
Chetna also took to the social networking site to say: "What a Great Final! Very deserving winner @nancybbakes And well done @luistroyano @RichardPBurr Love you all @BritishBakeOff #GBBOfinal (sic)"

Sam Faiers heading for Hollywood movie role

Sam Faiers is reportedly planning a Hollywood movie career.
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star is reported to have caught the attention of industry bosses in Los Angeles with one major casting agent flying her stateside to discuss the possibility of billboard modelling campaigns and potential film roles.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Sam's sexy modelling career caught the eye of some VIP Hollywood moguls and she's keen to expand her horizons.
"A really big casting agent flew her out to LA first class and set up a string of meetings. There are plans for a modelling career Stateside and the potential for movies.
"It's really exciting for her. She can't believe she has a chance at cracking the US."
However, the 23-year-old star is keeping her feet firmly on the ground and isn't expecting to achieve an A-list celebrity status over night.
The source added: "However, she's realistic and isn't expecting to become the next Kim Kardashian overnight - she is just flattered to be asked."
Meanwhile, Sam's on-off boyfriend Joey Essex has always been open about his dreams to take on a Hollywood role.
He previously said: "I'd love to play 007 [James Bond] one day. I'd love to go to Hollywood. So we will see what happens."

Charlie Brooks lands role in US TV show

Charlie Brooks has reportedly landed a role in a US TV show.
The former 'EastEnders' actress - who starred as Janine Butcher in the BBC One soap - is said to be flying out to Los Angeles next week to film the pilot episode of a new sitcom in which she will play an exaggerated version of her former character.
A source close to Charlie revealed: "This is a great opportunity, Charlie is so ambitious since leaving 'EastEnders, she has been looking for the perfect chance."
However, the 33-year-old star - who was crowned Queen of the 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' jungle in 2012 - is also said to have taken the place of her former on-screen sister-in-law Patsy Palmer, who played Bianca Jackson in 'EastEnders'.
The source added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Spending time working in the States is something that Charlie has wanted to do for a long time. Initially Patsy was in talks to take the part but she isn't anymore.
"This has left the door open for Charlie. She hopes that this might be the beginning of some bigger opportunities in Hollywood. She can't wait to get stuck in. There are many more doors that she and her agent have their fingers crossed will open.
"She's not putting a huge amount of pressure on herself but obviously she really hopes she can pull it off."
Joining Charlie in the comedy - which has been inspired by 'The Office' and 'Extras' - will be another former 'EastEnders' actor, Michael Greco, who played hunk Beppe Di Marco on the soap for four years.
The programme is based around a fictional relocation service that brings UK starts to LA called Make It Hollywood and will also star ex-'Hollyoaks' heartthrob Andy Newton-Lee (Robbie Flynn), who runs a similar company in real life.

Gregg Wallace wants Italian wedding

Gregg Wallace is planning to marry his girlfriend.
The 'MasterChef' host is hoping to tie the knot for the fourth time, this time with his girlfriend Anne Marie Sterpini, 28, in a low-key ceremony in Italy following his failure on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
Gregg admitted to the Daily Star newspaper: "My next challenge may be marrying my girlfriend. She's one of the most wonderful people I've ever met. A very quiet wedding in Italy would be ideal."
The 49-year-old star didn't comment, however, on whether he'll be sweeping his bride off her feet in a romantic first dance.
The usually cheery food critic is reportedly devastated after being the first to be voted off the BBC One celebrity dance contest, with his professional partner Aliona Vilani adding salt to the wound by expressing her dismay on twitter about being partnered with older celebrities three years in a row.
Fellow Strictly professional Ola Jordan told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Gregg's gutted. I think he wanted to stay longer."
And Ola's beau, James Jordan also stood up for the chef, slamming Aliona for her comments.
He added: "Aliona has won the show before [with Harry Judd], she's had Matt Baker as well. I think that's harsh of her. At the end of the day Gregg's still a human being.
"You're not always going to get the fittest, hottest partner. I think it's a bit short-sighted of her to say that."

Jay Leno negotiating TV return

Jay Leno is close to finalising a return to TV.
The 64-year-old presenter - who departed NBC's 'Tonight Show' in February after 22 years at the helm - is said to be negotiating a deal to host a show for cable network CNBC and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the programme will focus on his long-time love of cars.
Sources told the publication that the show will air in a primetime slot, but it doesn't yet have a premiere date, nor is it clear how frequently the regular series will broadcast.
Since departing the 'Tonight Show', Jay has toured the US with his stand-up comedy show, hosted an awards show in Jerusalem and also seen his web series 'Jay's Garage' air on NBC.com, while CNBC aired a special, 'Jay's Garage: The Ultimate Car Week' recently.
The veteran broadcaster was reportedly courted by a number of other stations, including CNN, A&E, History and the Tribune but wanted to stay loyal to NBCUniversal.
CNBC - which, like NBC, is owned by NBCUniversal - is mainly known for financial news but has been trying to broaden its viewership with new additions to its programming such as financial game show 'Shark Tank' and reality programmes 'The Profit' and 'Restaurant Startup'.
NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt had previously expressed his desire to have Jay remain with the network after he departed his long-running late night show, which is now fronted by Jimmy Fallon.
He said: "Nothing would make us happier than for him, a la Bob Hope, to still be a presence on the network."
