Lea Seydoux cast as Bond girl

Lea Seydoux has signed up for the new James Bond film.
The 29-year-old French actress will join Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris for the latest instalment of the 007 film franchise called 'Bond 24'.
According to the Daily Mail newspaper, the blonde beauty will undergo a series of costume, make-up and and camera tests under the watchful eye of the movie's director, Sam Mendes and the producers, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson who will determine what "look" her Bond girl character should have.
Lea has already made her mark on the film industry, after she took home the coveted Palme D'or award at the 2013 Cannes International Film Festival for her performance in the French language film, 'Blue Is The Warmest Colour', alongside her co-star Adele Exarchopoulos and the film's director, Abdellatif Kechiche.
She has also starred in several Hollywood blockbusters, including 'Mission Impossible: Ghost Patrol' and Quentin Tarantino's 'Inglourious Basterds'.
The Daily Mail also reported that the movie executives originally wanted a Scandinavian actress to play the Bond girl, however, a last minute change of heart meant that the casting went to the French star. The crew were also spotted looking at sites in Rome, sparking speculation that the film will include some Italian flavour as well.

Alan Titchmarsh hails Britain’s Royal Family

Alan Titchmarsh believes Britain's Royal Family is the subject of too much criticism.
The TV presenter is a big advocate of the royals and has defended them in the face of criticism, saying the likes of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles are treated unfairly.
Speaking at Cheltenham Literature Festival, the 65-year-old told the Radio Times: "I do think the Royal Family take more flak than they deserve.
"What they do is entirely for the good of the country. They've got no need to socially climb, they're not in it for the money. So, what are they doing it for?"
The former 'Ground Force' host questioned what right the public has to be critical of a family based purely on their birthright.
He said: "They're born into it, they have no choice but to be born into and they take an awful lot of criticism.
"To criticise somebody for being born in a council house, we would be quite rightly vilified and ridiculed for doing that. In the same way, if you're born into the monarchy, which is an established institution, if you make the best possible fist of it that you can - which I certainly think the Queen and the Prince of Wales do - then you're doing your best."

Prince Edward welcomed to Nuneaton college by children

Britain's Prince Edward delighted children at King Edward VI College in Nuneaton when he visited earlier this week.
The Earl of Wessex was the special guest at the official opening of a brand new creative arts building at the college, which now boasts a cutting-edge suite that features a range of different classrooms, including a photography studio and a media suite.
The visit of the Prince thrilled the children, including student Sarah Garrett, who told the Nuneaton News: "I spoke primarily about my stop motion project and how it works along with the technology to make a mini movie with images.
"It was a great experience, we were all really excited about meeting him."
Elsewhere, photography teacher at the college Jaskirt Bora said: "It was a fantastic pleasure to have the His Royal Highness in our college and especially visiting the photography students.
"They thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I'm really thankful that he talked to so many of them about their work, which is such a rare opportunity."
She added: "This was a really special moment for them and I'm delighted that The Earl of Wessex took so much interest in photography and the students work."

Take That begged Jason Orange to stay

Take That members begged Jason Orange to stay with the band.
Mark Owen, Gary Barlow and Howard Donald were desperate for their former band mate to stay with Take That, that they continued to ask Jason to join them in the recording studio.
Howard said: "We were hanging on, hoping he would come back.
"At every opportunity, regardless of whether we were writing in the States, we were like, 'Are you coming?' "
Gary also revealed that they had left space on their new album, which is titled 'III', for the absent singer.
He said: "We started the new record just before last Christmas, so until two weeks ago we left this big hole for Jay in case he was gonna say: 'Yes I'm in."
However, the guys were adamant that Jason's departure won't change things for the band and they explained that they plan to keep in contact.
Mark said: "Take That is our most comfortable place, being in this band is a family.
"Even when we're not working we see each other. We saw Jay a few weeks ago and had a sort of goodbye. There's something nice about coming together."
They even hinted that former member, Robbie Williams could return to the band for another tour and album, as Howard said: "The door is always open."
Although the band - whose first single 'These Days' is available from November 23 - are staying positive, it appears as though their work was affected by Jason's absence.
Mark shared: "It was quite downbeat, and we needed to change it to bring more energy to it. I think Gary said, 'We're not writing a retirement record.' "

Katy Perry to perform at Super Bowl

Katy Perry will perform at next year's Super Bowl.
The 'Roar' hitmaker - who has been rumoured to appear at the half time ceremony since the NFL shortlisted her in August - will take to the stage at the annual sporting event in February 2015, sources have confirmed to Billboard.
It is thought the raven-haired beauty will be joined by Coldplay and fellow star Rihanna at the hotly-anticipated event at the University of Phoenix stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
The news follows on from reports the NFL were planning to charge artists to play at the show after the broadcast reported a record-breaking audience of 111.5 million last year.
However, Katy, 29, has previously said she wouldn't take part in the event if she was asked to pay for the privilege.
She said at ESPN's College Game Day over the weekend: "I'm not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl."
Speculation around the performance has grown since it was noticed the 'Part Of Me' singer had a gap in her 'Prismatic' world tour dates around the time of the Super Bowl.
Sources also confirmed to the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "A deal is being hammered out for Katy to play the Super Bowl."
The NFL has so far declined to comment on the reports.

Barbara Walters in cancer scare

Barbara Walters had a lumpectomy following a cancer scare.
The 85-year-old star has revealed she went under the knife more than five years ago after she discovered a lump on her breast and has only ever told a few people about it.
Talking about her scare at the Breast Cancer Research Symposium and Awards luncheon in New York on Thursday (09.10.14), Barbara said: "Some years back, more than five now, I discovered a small lump in my breast. I had a lumpectomy. I hadn't talked about it. There was no reason to. There were other choices that were possible, this was mine. I told a few people and I am fine. I've had no recurrence."
The TV presenter, who was being honoured with the Sandra Taub Humanitarian Award, praised the event's host, Amy Robach, who discovered she had cancer during an on-air mammogram as part of a segment on 'Good Morning America'.
Barbara said: "When [Amy] discovered she had breast cancer, she handled it in the most magnificent and wise, sensitive way. I think what Amy has done, and the path she has chosen, has saved the lives of many women."
'The View' co-host also admitted to having her ovaries removed as a precautionary measure after her sister passed away from ovarian cancer.
