The Libertines halt set due to crowd fear

The Libertines were forced to halt their set in London's Hyde Park after just two songs last night (05.07.14).
The reformed rockers had blitzed through opener 'Vertigo' and were midway through 'Boys in the Band' when they stopped playing to urge the 65,000 crowd at Barclaycard British Summer Time to step back as those at the front were getting crushed.
Frontman Pete Doherty said: "We can't carry on if you don't calm down a little bit."
After a delay of around 10 minutes, the band were able to carry on, but things were halted during a stripped-down performance of 'France' later in the set as audience members were attempting to scale the sound towers.
Carl Barat warned: "If you don't stop climbing the towers, Pigman can't do his solo."
Elsewhere, the quartet delighted fans with their rousing, hit-laden set and despite their past differences, Pete and Carl seemed overjoyed to be back together, sharing several hugs and playful moments throughout the performance and at one point, Carl even leapfrogged over his bandmate.
Pete also praised his fellow frontman in a rambling speech to the crowd.
He said: "I wanted to drive my camper van into the backstage area. The security guards said 'you don't want to do that because of the traffic'. I wanted to drive it in and put union jacks on top. They said 'you've got nothing to fly the flag for' and I said what about William Blake? What about Johnny Marr? What about Carl Barat?"
To finish their set, Carl and Pete recited Siegfried Sassoon's 1918 poem 'Suicide In The Trenches' before praising the armed forces.
Pete said: "We remember and honour those who gave their lives for liberty. We thought it was nerve-wracking coming out here tonight but leaving Kings Cross station with a rifle across your back in 1914 must have been really hard."
Prior to coming on stage, an announcement on the big screen revealed The Libertines will perform two shows at London's Alexandra Palace on September 28 and 29.
Tickets go on sale on Monday (07.07.14).
Earlier in the day, Spiritualized and The Pogues were among the acts to perform on the main stage, while performances from artists including Graham Coxon and Swim Deep were scrapped due to "technical difficulties" inside the Barclaycard Theatre.

Mick Jagger reportedly takes two girls to hotel room in 48 hours

Sir Mick Jagger reportedly took two women to his hotel room in 48 hours.
The Rolling Stones legend is said to have chatted up an attractive duo at a party following a concert in Stockholm, Sweden on Tuesday (01.07.14), before inviting them to his room at different times during a two-day period.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "It was typical Mick. He spotted the girls in a bar and quickly charmed them over a couple of drinks.
"By the end of the trip both had been back to his room. It doesn't take much imagination to guess what went on."
The 70-year-old musician was pictured last month with dancer Melanie Hamrick, but it was reportedly a fling and an insider claimed he is "still as rock 'n' roll as ever".
The source added: "Mick has a natural swagger and presence about him which wasn't lost on the two girls.
"They were both in their thirties, voluptuous and very attractive - and were clearly keen on him.
"Over the course of his visit they both ended up in his hotel room. He has been making the most of his time on the road - and judging by this, is still as rock 'n' roll as ever."

Melanie Sykes will ‘never marry again’

Melanie Sykes has claimed she will "never marry again".
The TV star - whose split from husband Jack Cockings was confirmed in January - has insisted while her breakup hasn't put her off relationships for life, she doesn't think she'll walk down the aisle for a third time.
She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper's Fabulous magazine: "No, I'll never marry again.
"But I said that the first time, so ... [I've not been put off relationships], not a bit, because that was just one particular relationship."
Melanie filed for divorce a month after she was given a police caution for common assault, but she claimed the whole situation hasn't "scarred" her.
She added: "What's important is me and that it has not scarred me into some dark, scared person.
"I do think that's [down to] my age as well. It would have properly floored some people but it hasn't me."
Despite the divorce not putting her off the idea of relationships, she still insisted she has no "interest" in finding another partner.
She said: "I doesn't interest me at all. Now [or] ever, I don't know. I just don't want to get into that.
"I'm going out a lot more and I'm meeting lots of people so that's nice. It's just wicked! I'm free as a bird!"

Tom Jones will help choose The Voice judges

Sir Tom Jones will be allowed to choose his fellow judges on 'The Voice'.
The legendary pop star admitted he missed Kylie Minogue after the singer decided to quit the show, but revealed he will "have a say" in the decision-making regarding her replacement.
He told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "I'll miss Kylie. She's lovely. There's quite a few people who could replace her and I have a say when they put a name forwards.
"I can say if I like that or don't like that. There are quite a few names on the table."
Meanwhile, Tom recently confirmed the remaining judges - including will.i.am and Ricky Wilson - were "in talks" with show bosses to see which of them will return for another series.
He added: "We're in talks at the moment to see who will do it again.
"It's a shame Kylie can't come back but I'm not sure about will.i.am, but I hope Ricky will come back.
"I'd love to return for another season."
However, it was recently reported that the show's bosses were becoming "desperate" because of the fear Kylie won't be the only judge to quit.
A source previously claimed: "The bosses are desperate to sign someone brilliant to replace Kylie. But the first question they are asked at every meeting is: 'Who else is involved?'
"Not being able to say for sure is a problem."

The legendary singer is eager for the 29-year-old blonde beauty to marry her son, Evan Ross, at her mansion in Los Angeles.
A source told Life & Style magazine: "Diana couldn't be more excited for her son Evan to marry Ashlee. She offered them her LA home as the venue, and she's been renovating it for the occasion."
The couple are planning to pull out all the stops for their lavish celebration in August, even though it will be Ashlee's second stint down the aisle.
The source added: "It's going to be so over-the-top."
The Motown legend is also expected to serenade guests at the reception, where she will be joined on stage by her daughter Rhonda Ross Kendrick.
And Diana has pulled out all the stops to make the wedding an A-list affair, fuelling rumours of a special performance by Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson by adding them to the guest list.
'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay' actor Evan previously admitted The Supremes singer was taking a very hands-on role in planning his wedding.

The former Spice Girls star started dating Christian Horner around January earlier this year, and it is said the Formula One boss proposed a few weeks ago.
An insider told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "Geri is delighted and has been telling close friends about the plans - but they have been more cautious around his family.
"They made the decision to get engaged this spring but have kept it quiet to avoid any awkward fall outs.
"Some of his family are still unsure about the situation. They weren't impressed at the breakdown of his relationship with Beverley just six months after the baby's birth."
Meanwhile, Mel C recently revealed Geri and her former bandmates are playing matchmaker as they try to set her up with guys.
She previously told BANG Showbiz: "The girls always try and set me up with men, just like any friends, but we haven't had any success yet. There's been a couple of occasions. But I'm a little too busy being a mum and working."

Jessica was said to be wearing a Carolina Herrera gown as she and Eric exchanged vows in front of more than 250 guests.
The couple were delighted to celebrate the occasion with their two kids - the couple's 12-month-old son Ace was a ring bearer, while their daughter Maxwell, two, was a flower girl.
The couple also invited their fellow stars to the ceremony, with the likes of Jessica Alba and Topher Grace among the celebrity guests attending the celebrations.

Ed Sheeran wanted to impress Pharrell

Ed Sheeran wanted to impress Pharrell Williams with his vocals.
The 'Sing' hitmaker has revealed he sang unnaturally high notes while recording his recent hit single as he was so eager to wow the song's producer.
He said: "I was trying to show off in the studio in front of Pharrell. He gets amazing singers all the time, so I was like, 'I'm going to show him I can do this.' But now I have to play it live every day."
The 23-year-old crooner recently topped the charts with his second studio album 'x', and he is next set to work on music for another act - One Direction.
He revealed in an interview with We Love Pop magazine: "I'm seeing [their record label boss] Simon Cowell soon. I'm going to his house and playing him some songs. I like that they've moved into a more acoustic zone and I have an idea that I think would work for them, so we'll see."

Andy Serkis’ sweaty suit

Andy Serkis gets "pretty sweaty" working in motion capture suits.
The 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' star finds it "liberating" taking on digitally-enhanced roles because he can be "anything", but admits there are some downsides.
He said: "After a few hours in the suit it gets pretty sweaty so no one really wants to be standing next to me.
"Seriously though, it's liberating and I love it as a way of working because it allows you to play literally anything.
"And it does require huge cajones to get up and do it actually because on a digital set you have to do a lot of your work internally and use your imagination."
Andy spent a lot of time studying gorillas and apes for his work in the 'Planet of the Apes' movies and had a scary encounter with one primate.
He recalled to Loaded magazine: "When I was working at London Zoo there were four gorillas.
"The male was called Bobby and he didn't like me very much because I'd formed a relationship with one of the female gorillas. I've actually got this moment on camera where he's eyeballing me in a threatening way.
"He's engaging me and looking straight into my eyes while gathering a pile of stones together... And suddenly he threw handfuls of them right into the lens of my camera."

Daisy Lowe didn't want to start acting until she bought a house.
The 25-year-old beauty always knew she wanted to be an actress but vowed to continue with her modelling career until she had made enough money to be comfortable.
She said: "I've kind of always felt that modelling was like training for acting. I was always in school plays and always wanted to do it.
"I made a promise to myself that I would buy my first home and then do some acting training and that's exactly what I did. Then I got the part in 'Confine', which was really cool."
The brunette star is also on the hunt for a holiday home abroad and her other hopes for the future are to start a family and feel more confident in herself.
Asked where she sees herself in five years time, she told Britain's HELLO! magazine: "How old am I going to be? 30? I hope I'd have bought a house abroad, I hope I would have managed to see more of the world, hopefully be more comfortable in my own skin, still doing what I'm doing.
"I want a family one day, but I don't know if I'll have made one by then."

She said: "I love the UK, especially the country. James has a house in Bury St. Edmonds and we go there all the time, it's just beautiful.
"He has an organic garden and we go on amazing walks. It's a perfect retreat."
Nicky also appreciates the sense of style of women in the UK.
She said: "The UK is more fashion-conscious than the US. I love how British girls dress. They take more risks."

Sinitta will ‘corrupt’ Simon Cowell’s son

Sinitta wants to "corrupt" Simon Cowell's son.
The 'So Macho' hitmaker is godmother to her former boyfriend's four-month-old baby Eric but she insists she doesn't want to be a good influence on him as the music mogul has always encouraged her children, Magdalena, nine, and Zac, eight, to misbehave.
She said: "I'm not going to give Simon tips, I'm going to help corrupt Eric the way Simon's corrupted my children."
Despite his young age, Sinitta claims little Eric is already showing signs of being like his father.
She said: "He's definitely a watcher. He sits and watches everything and takes it all in, like his father. He's a gorgeous child, really easy and sweet."
And the 45-year-old singer doesn't think Simon will have any problems juggling work on 'The X Factor' with his family life.
Asked if she thinks her pal will struggle, she told Britain's OK! magazine: "Not at all - I think Simon is in his element because he basically has it all. I used to say, 'You can't have it all', and actually, he can."
