Joan Rivers’ daughter inherits $100 million

Joan Rivers' daughter Melissa Rivers has inherited $100 million.
The 'Fashion Police' host, who died from "predictable" surgical complications while undergoing a minor operation on her vocal cords last month, left the bulk of her estate to her only child and 13-year-old grandson, Cooper.
A source told UsMagazine.com that the 81-year-old comedienne bequeathed $75 million in cash and her luxurious $35 million condo on New York's Upper East Side to the devastated TV producer, 46, in her will.
But a source close to Melissa said: "It's no consolation for losing her mother so soon."
Melissa is taking legal action against throat specialist Dr Gwen Korovin, who was allegedly unauthorised to practise at the Yorkville Endoscopy Clinic in Manhattan where Joan passed away.
The New York City Medical Examiner's Office recently released a statement stating that Joan's brain had been starved of oxygen after she suffered cardiac and respiratory arrest on the operating table.
Following the news, Melissa wrote on Twitter: "In response to NYC's Medical examiner's report, we continue to be saddened by our tragic loss. No further comment at this time."
Joan died on September 4 and was laid to rest at a service at the Temple Emanu-El in Manhattan on September 7.

Meg Ryan is ‘really happy’

Meg Ryan is "really happy" after reconciling with John Mellencamp.
The 52-year-old actress, who split from the 63-year-old rocker in July after three years of dating, recently decided to rekindle their relationship after he publicly called her "an angel."
A source close to John told PEOPLE.com: "They are back together and it's brand new. They're really happy about it."
The couple, who were spotted strolling through SoHo in New York City last week, broke up as they were forced to spend long periods apart, as John lives in Bloomington, Indiana, while the 'You've Got Mail' star lives in Manhattan with her adopted daughter Daisy, nine.
But the 'Jack and Diane' hitmaker recently hinted he hadn't completely given up on the blonde beauty.
During an interview last month, he said: "Meg is an angel. She was just an angel sent to me at the right time.
"We tried to have a relationship for three years - long distance. We'll see what happens."
A source previously said they "had distance problems during the entire relationship and tried to make it work, but it wasn't meant to be."

Nicky Hilton is ‘too busy’ to wed

Nicky Hilton is "too busy" to plan her wedding.
The 31-year-old fashion designer and heiress, who got engaged to British banker James Rothchild in July after three years of dating, admits she has no idea when they will walk down the aisle.
The '365 Style' author told MailOnline: "I haven't planned a thing for my wedding. I've been too busy.
"I just got back from New York and as soon as I landed in LA my mom was there with all this wedding planning material. She had tear outs and inspiration boards and was ready to talk wedding planning. But I am not there yet, I have not made one plan so far."
The 'Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills' guest star added: "I haven't even picked a date or a wedding planner. I have been busy with my book. But I am excited for what lies ahead, and I am looking forward to putting it together."
The former model hasn't picked out her wedding dress yet.
She said: "I honestly don't know what type of dress I will wear. But I have seen some fun ideas for bridesmaid gowns, where the dresses are all the same design but different sherbet colours. I like that."
The blonde beauty got engaged to James during a romantic trip to Lake Como in Italy, but she doesn't know where they will exchange vows.
She said: "It's a little difficult because I am from Los Angeles and he is from London. So we will need to find a place that is good for both of us. It will be a lot of planning, but it will be fun."
Nicky's older sister Paris Hilton is looking forward to helping her organise the festivities.
The 33-year-old DJ said: "I have actually never helped anyone plan a wedding before. So this is all new to me."
She added: "I am so happy for them. I cried when I heard the news they were engaged. They are perfect for each other."

Jim Kerr says Q Awards missed ‘hellraiser’ Liam Gallagher

Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr thinks the Q Awards missed the hellraising behaviour of Liam Gallagher.
The singer - who was previously married to Patsy Kensit, who was also Liam's wife at one stage - was thrilled to be at the ceremony at the Grosvenor House hotel in central London today (22.10.14), but admitted it would have been livened up by Liam's rock 'n' roll behaviour.
When asked why there are fewer misbehaving rock stars now, the 55-year-old star told BANG Showbiz: "We're missing Liam. We need him. These things go in cycles - this time next year they'll be someone coming over the horizon to turn up and do something."
In 2000, Robbie Williams walked out of the Q Awards after a slanging match with Liam.
When urged to kick-start the bad behaviour at this year's ceremony, Jim laughed: "Are you reverting to typecast because we're from Glasgow? Look we certainly know how to get a party started. When you're younger you certainly do, we were barely out of school when we got a record deal. We were very much like kids in a candy store."
Jim hopes the singer brings out more music soon, whether with his band Beady Eye or through a new endeavour, because he is a big fan of the rocker.
He said: "I've no idea what Liam should do next but I'm a fan, I think he's a great frontman and I'm always curious as to what he is doing. You don't get to be that popular without having something."
Jim and his Simple Minds bandmates were honoured with the Q Inspiration Award, presented to them by Manic Street Preachers frontman James Dean Bradfield.
The singer was proud to receive the accolade and revealed the band have never lost their hunger for music during their near 40-year career.
He said: "Its cause were still into it, we've never woke up and felt, 'There's nothing else to do.'
"We still want to be a better live band, we still want to write better songs. I suppose it's obvious you've got to get on and you've to get through the good times and the bad."

Wilko Johnson is ‘cancer free’

Wilko Johnson announced he is cancer free at the Q Awards today (22.10.14).
The legendary guitarist was presented with the Icon Award at the ceremony held at the Grosvenor House hotel in London and told the crowd during his acceptance speech that he has been "cured" of terminal pancreatic cancer after undergoing radical surgery in April.
Upon being presented with his award by Madness singer Suggs, the 67-year-old star said: "It's been an extraordinary couple of years. At the beginning of last year I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and I had about two months to live."
The singer admitted he got "quick a kick" when he realised he might never perform again while on stage at the Fuji Rocks Festival in Japan lat year.
He said: "We walked out onto the stage and the clouds opened and the sun came shining down. I was looking and I was thinking, 'this might be the last one I ever do.' It's quite a kick I can tell you."
Pausing for a standing ovation from the guests, which included Kasabian, Pink Floyd's Nick Mason, Johnny Marr and Ed Sheeran, Wilko then explained how his life was saved by a fan, who is also a cancer specialist.
He said: "Roger Daltrey got in touch with me and said, 'I want to do an album.' I said, 'You better to do it quick!'
"We did do it quick, we did it right at the end of last year. I was thinking, 'Wow, it ain't been bad, I'm now in extra time. This is great, I'm having a really good year and if the last thing I ever do is make an album with Roger Daltrey that's pretty good. I can go home and die.' "
He added: "Then comes Charlie Chan. Charlie is a photographer and a cancer doctor, who has taken an interest in my case - he's very curious as to why I'm not dead. He says, 'Listen, can you go and see my friends at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, and let them have a look at it.'
"This tumour at this stage is huge, it's so big it makes my guitar point the wrong way on stage. So I went to the hospital and they ran the tests again and I get told they think they can do it, and they did it."
Pausing for another standing ovation, he continued: "So I had an 11-hour operation and they took this tumour out of me, it weighed three kilos, that's the size of a baby, I was carrying it on stage every night. They got it all and cured me, so thank you Addenbrooke's. I spent several weeks in hospital and I remember people telling me, 'The Roger Daltrey album is doing really well.' But I missed all that! A few weeks ago, I came home and I'm hoping to regain my strength completely soon and get back on the road. If there's a moral to this story it's that you never know what can happen."

Kasabian win big at the Q Awards

Kasabian have been named the Best Live Act and the Best Act In The World Today at the Xperia Access Q Awards.
The popular band, who released their fifth studio album, '48:13', earlier this year, collected their awards at the Grosvenor House hotel in central London on Wednesday (22.10.14).
Speaking on the stage as the band collected their first award for Best Live Act, Kasabian's Tom Meighan paid tribute to his dad - who he accidentally ran over earlier this year.
He said: "We're Kasabian, can I just thank everyone for making this record and working on the tour and s**t I run over my dad this year, I can't drive and it was an automatic ... This is for my old man, he ain't dead yet, this is for my dad - I love you."
Another award winner was former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, 50, who was presented with the Gibson Les Paul Award by Olympic gold medalist Sir Bradley Wiggins.
Speaking on the stage, Sir Bradley admitted he had been enjoying the free booze at the bash a little too much.
He said: "Anyone growing up in the 80s would have been inspired by this man. There aren't too many guitarists who you can hear that opening riff they play and know who it is. This man is one of those guys. I'm not going to say too much more as I've had too many of those Carlings..."
Marr said: "Thank you Q Magazine, thank you Bradley, we are going out later.
"Being a little boy I always thought bands were the best thing in the world and being the guitar player was the coolest thing, and I still do. I know there are a lot of singers in the room but I still think the same thing ... I feel very lucky to do something I love for a living and I think it's fab to get an award for it."

Jessica Chastain: Matthew McConaughey is ‘gorgeous’

Jessica Chastain thinks Matthew McConaughey is "gorgeous".
The 'Zero Dark Thirty' actress - who stars alongside Matthew, 44, in 'Interstellar' - gushed over the hunky actor as he was presented with the 2014 American Cinematheque Award at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California last night (22.10.14) and recalled the moment she became a fan of the Oscar-winning star.
The 37-year-old flame-haired beauty told E! News: "It was A Time to Kill. The closing speech and he's the defence attorney and he stops and he kind of puts his hand on his face and he chokes back his emotions and I remember watching that moment.
"Before that film, I thought, 'Oh, that man's gorgeous,' and then when I saw that it was, 'Yes, he's gorgeous, but he's an actor. That was in the beginning and I've been a fan ever since."
There was no shortage of praise for the 'True Detective' actor at the star-studded event.
His 'Mud' co-star Reese Witherspoon also paid homage to the well-loved actor and admitted she could "watch him all day".
She explained: "He's handsome and he's got talent. He's got what my friend calls a 'two-hour face'--you want to watch him for two hours. He might even have a 'six-hour face.' That hasn't been tested yet. Well, it has, hasn't it with True Detective? You could watch him all day."
US talk show host Jimmy Kimmel even joked that watching handsome Matthew on screen had altered his sexual orientation.
He said: "I've learned a lot from Matthew from watching his movies over the years. One thing I've learned is that I'm bi-curious."

Amber Rose will ‘always love’ Wiz Khalifa

Amber Rose will "always love" Wiz Khalifa "no matter what".
The 31-year-old star filed for divorce from the 'We Dem Boyz' rapper earlier this month amid rumours he'd cheated on her with twin sisters but she's now confessed she will always hold a torch for him.
Wiz, 27, took to Twitter yesterday (21.10.14) to wish his estranged wife a happy 31st birthday, writing: "Happy birthday Amb @DaRealAmberRose (sic)."
And, rather than ignoring her former lover, Amber - who has 20-month-old son Sebastian with Wiz - replied with a touching message.
She said: "@wizkhalifa Thank u Sweetheart #StillLoveYouNoMatterWhat (sic)."
The curvaceous beauty - who has been linked to Mariah Carey's estranged husband Nick Cannon and KISS frontman Gene Simmons' son Nick Simmons since her split - insisted last week that her son is now her main priority.
She said: "I'm focused on my son and my work. I really don't have time for a man."
Amber added: "I'm going through a divorce and technically I'm single, but I'm just not ready for [that]."

Bryan Singer paying surrogate $1 million to deliver child

Bryan Singer is reportedly expecting his first child through a surrogate mother.
The 'X-Men' director is said to be paying his close friend Michelle Clunie $1million to deliver his first child, which is due to be born in December.
A source told RadarOnline: "She's very pregnant, she looks like she swallowed a basketball!"
The 49-year-old star is set to welcome his first child later this year, and has even bought a house located three doors down from his abode especially for the expectant surrogate.
Bryan is thought to be over-the-moon with the news that he is set to become a father and has reportedly already been splashing the cash on plenty of items for the baby.
Another source added: "He is paying for everything,
"When the UPS truck delivered all the baby things, one of Bryan's assistants came down from his home to help bring it all in,
"When Michelle saw the boxes, she had a look on her face that said, 'What did I get myself into?'"
The announcement is good news for the acclaimed film buff following a year during which he was investigated for two separate sexual assault incidents. However, the 'Valkyrie' director no longer faces charges for either incident, with one lawsuit being dropped in August, and charges not being filed for the second claim.

Cally-Jo Pothecary: Rihanna ‘down-to-earth’

Celebrity tattoo artist Cally-Jo Pothecary was surprised at how "down-to-earth" Rihanna is.
The 24-year-old fine art graduate-turned tattooist to the stars was summoned to the Dominican Republic by the 'What Now' hitmaker earlier this year and was shocked by how welcoming the superstar was.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Rihanna was amazing to work with, I love how down-to-earth she is. She's really not what you would expect from a celebrity, she is just so relaxed and nice."
Cally-Jo was also lucky enough to collaborate with artist Bang-Bang for the design process of Rihanna's famous hand tattoo.
She explained: "She wanted a cover up on her hand and she definitely wanted something henna inspired, so we looked at lots and lots of different henna patterns and styles and drew it on a few different times and a few ways and finally settled on the style."
Known to be one of the most painful places to get inked, she was relieved that the 'Diamond' singer handled it so well.
The tattoo artist said: "She was great, and the hand is a really painful area, so I was actually quite surprised how she took it because I actually squirmed when I had my hand done, she was absolutely brilliant."
Cally-Jo also confessed she would love the opportunity to tattoo 'Drunk In Love' singer Beyonce, praising her as "incredibly talented".
Cally-Jo has teamed up with colleague Lal Hardy to design the Limited Edition tattooed HTC One (M8) ahead of tonight's (22.10.14) 2014 MOBO Awards. HTC is the lead sponsor of MOBO for the third year running. HTC is also proud to support the Best Newcomer Award, helping foster new up and coming talent in the music industry.

Queen Elizabeth serves up chocolate ice cream for President

Britain's Queen Elizabeth treated the Singapore President to a meal of pheasant and chocolate ice cream yesterday (21.10.14).
The 88-year-old monarch hosted a banquet for Tony Tan and his wife Mary at Buckingham Palace, and there were a number of delicacies on the menu including poached supreme of Windsor Estate pheasant with truffles and a chocolate ice cream bombe with a praline ice cream centre.
Chefs worked "seamlessly" behind the scenes on the treat-filled menu, which was served to 170 guests at the meal.
An extract from a blog post on the official website of the British Monarchy read: "During the afternoon, the finishing touches were being put in place for the evening's State Banquet, which saw 170 guests welcomed to Buckingham Palace as part of the State Visit celebrations.
"As guests arrived for the State Banquet, behind the scenes the chefs in the Royal kitchens were seamlessly working together to create the evening's menu, which featured a Roulade of Dover Sole and Windsor Estate Pheasant."
Following the meal, the queen made a speech about the strong historical links between the two countries.
She said: "As well as a common heritage, our countries share a wealth of common interests.
"Mr. President, your visit is an opportunity to celebrate the links between our two countries, developed over almost two centuries"
Earlier in the day, the queen, along with her husband Prince Philip, and grandson Prince William and his wife Duchess Catherine took part in a carriage procession with the Singapore President and his wife.
