Russell Brand misses Jemima Khan's dog.
The 39-year-old comedian - who reportedly split from Jemima, 40, last month after a year of dating - confessed "life is hard" now he no longer gets to spend time with her white Alsatian named Brian.
Speaking on 'The Jonathan Ross Show', which airs tomorrow night (25.10.14), he said: "I loved that dog. But what can you do?
"Life is hard isn't it. You just jog on. You focus and think, 'Well I have lost that dog, we just have to overthrow the government.' "
Russell - who had taken Brian onto the talk show a year earlier - added: "I just walk around with a limp lead now. You should see what I do when I get home, with the same lead."
Jemima and the notorious lothario - who also split from wife Katy Perry in December 2011 after 14 months of marriage - first fuelled rumours they had ended their relationship after it became apparent that they'd unfollowed each other on Twitter
A source said at the time: "The relationship has simply run its course."

Taylor Swift refused her record label boss' request to put two country songs on her new album.
The 24-year-old singer has admitted she was so insistent on changing genre from country music to pop for her upcoming fifth studio album '1989' that she went against the wishes of her label chief, who is now "as happy as a clown" with the record.
She said: "The decision came directly from me. I had to plead my case with everyone and certain people at the record label.
"I had to really campaign and get everyone on my side.
"I showed them that I was doing this for all the right reasons and that this was the creative decision and artistically there was no other option than to boldly hone this album for what it is.
"I had to convince my Nashville record label president it was right for me. I presented the album to him and he said, 'It's great, it's the best thing you've ever done but can you put two country songs on it?'
"But I refused. I explained it would change the solid cohesiveness of the record, so he agreed.
"He's happy as a clown now as we then got our first Hot 100 No.1 with 'Shake It Off'."
The blonde stunner also admitted her famous female pals, Lena Dunham, Lorde and Hayley Williams, helped influenced her to ditch her country roots and make a full-on pop album.
She added to The Sun newspaper: "I cut my hair, moved to New York and completely embraced being single. That was a new bold step forward for me.
"Surrounding myself with strong and beautiful women in my girlfriends has made it a really good two years. And this has helped make the decision to officially change genre on '1989'."
Taylor dabbled in pop music on her last album 'Red' but she has admitted she thought the first single from the record, 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together', "sounded ridiculous" until she was nominated for Record of the Year at the Grammy Awards last year.
She said: "I have got a thicker skin now and I have a better sense of humour.
"Some people think I am serious when I am doing the rap in 'Shake It Off', but the whole song is done with a wink and a comedic vibe, the same way as people thought I was really serious in We are Never Ever Getting Back Together.
"I was going, 'Like EVER'. We did that in the studio and it was so annoying that we just had to put it in the song.
"We cracked up laughing thinking, 'Can we get away calling it a song?' It had the longest title ever and sounded ridiculous. Then I got nominated for record of the year at The Grammys!"

Christian Bale has been confirmed to play Steve Jobs in an upcoming biopic.
The 'Dark Knight Rises' actor will take on the role of the late Apple co-founder - who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in October 2011 - in an upcoming movie, and Aaron Sorkin, who is writing the script for the as-yet untitled film, admitted the actor didn't even have to audition for the role.
He told Bloomberg TV: "We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that's Chris Bale.
"He didn't have to audition. Well, there was a meeting."
The 53-year-old scriptwriter has admitted the role will be "incredibly difficult" to play because Bale will appear in every scene in the Danny Boyle-directed motion picture, but he expects the Hollywood actor to "crush it".
He added: "He has more words to say in this movie than most people have in three movies combined.
"There isn't a scene or a frame that he's not in. So it's an extremely difficult part and he is gonna crush it."
Sorkin previously revealed the movie will be split into three huge parts of Jobs' life - the launch of the Mac computer, the start of his computer company NeXT and the birth of the iPod.
He said: "It's a little like writing about the Beatles. There are so many people out there that know him and revere him."
Leonardo DiCaprio is rumoured to have turned down the role leaving the path clear for Bale.

Katie Price is planning to sell her breast implants.
The 36-year-old model is to offload her current fake boobs in a few months to raise money for breast cancer charities because the former model - who last year revealed her assets are a size 32DD after previously being as big as 32FF - wants to go under the knife again as an early "Christmas present" for her and husband Kieran Hayler.
She told The Sun newspaper: "We should sell these implants for charity. I've got more pairs in the safe.
"I love them but I'd sell them in The Sun for a breast cancer charity. I can even sign them with a marker pen.
"You could have these very breasts right from inside me in a few weeks."
Katie - who previously boosted her boobs from a natural size 32B to a size 32DD when she was just 19 - insists her assets are now "saggy" after recently giving birth to her two children, Jett, 14 months, and two-month-old Bunny, with Kieran.
The mother-of-five added: "I've had two babies very quickly so they're saggy.
"I know I look ridiculous but that's what people want to see. I'd just had them done before I met Kieran so I'm having a service."
In June while she was pregnant with Bunny, Katie - who also has children Harvey, 12, from a previous relationship with Dwight Yorke and Junior, nine, and Princess, seven, from her marriage to Peter Andre - revealed plans to have a breast reduction at some point because she wanted her boobs to be "pert".
The brunette - who has gone under the knife six times in a bid to get perfect breasts - said at the time: "I'm like an orangutan. I've been pregnant for the last two years!"
When asked if she would have more cosmetic surgery, she replied: "I will do my boobs again ... they were amazing before I met Kieran.
"They were literally amazing, the best they'd ever been. But then three months later, I'm pregnant. I think I'll go a little bit smaller this time and go pert."

Kelly Osbourne has got a tattoo of a bumble bee in honour of her late friend Joan Rivers.
The 'Fashion Police' presenter took to her Instagram account to post a picture of herself being inked with the design by tattooist Mark Mahoney at the Shamrock Social Club in Hollywood - a tattoo parlour favoured by celebrities - and posted a heartfelt message in tribute to her late co-host, who died last month aged 81.
She wrote: "In honor of you @joanrivers..."If you looked at aerodynamics, at science, the bumble bee should not be able to fly. Physically, it was just not anatomically equipped to soar. Yet it did, defying gravity, defying logic. The bee was a creature that defied and beat the odds, a miracle." Thank you for being my Miracle@joanrivers. (sic)"
Kelly's idea to get a bumble bee tattooed on her right shoulder is a direct reference to Joan as a bee pin was the signature design in the late comedienne's jewellery line.
Joan often talked about her fascination with the insects, including the quote Kelly posted on her social networking site.
The 29-year-old star was left devastated following Joan's passing and recently admitted she was keen to adopt her dogs, a Havanese, a Japanese Chin, a Jack Russell terrier and a border collie.
Kelly's inking comes just one day after actress Zelda Williams headed to the Shamrock Social Club to get a tattoo of a humming bird on her right hand in tribute to her late father Robin Williams, who took his own life in August.

Steve Carell is impressed the entire plot of a children's book was squeezed into his new film, 'Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day'.
The movie is based on Judith Viorst's 1972 children's book of the same name, and Carell has joked that it was tough to condense the contents of the book into a movie - which also stars Jennifer Garner, 42.
The 52-year-old comedian said: "It was 28 pages long. Tough to get through. I was supposed to read it but it was too dense for me and I kept flashing ahead to see how it ended. I was a little impatient.
"I don't know how they managed to squeeze it in. It seemed like an impossibility but they were able to condense that narrative down to 81 minutes. It could have been a trilogy."
The 'Anchorman' star plays the role of a dad in the new film and it's caused him to reflect on the embarrassing things his own children have done.
He recalled: "My children have carved their initials into fine tables and that but they're just being kids. You can try to adjust their behaviour but we tend not to get overly excited about stuff like that.
"It's an annoyance but you just try to get them to understand that that's not what you do... you don't write with permanent marker on the walls."

McBusted will release their debut album in December.
The supergroup - consisting of Tom Fletcher, Harry Judd, Matt Willis, James Bourne, Danny Jones and Dougie Poynter - have compiled a 12-track collection named 'McBusted,' featuring tracks from a range of different genres, including 'Air Guitar', 'Hate Your Guts' and 'What Happened To Your Band,' which was written by James following the split of Busted in 2005.
Despite forming late last year, the band wanted to wait before they put any material out as "the expectations are so high" they wanted release "f***ing good" music.
The album will also include a number of big-name stars, including a collaboration with Blink 182's Mark Hoppus, who helped write 'Sensitive Guy' and leant his vocals to the punk track 'Hate Your Guts'.
Tom said of Mark: "He'd been such a huge influence on our song writing that to finally get in a room with him was so fun, if slightly surreal."
However, that's not all the group have in store for fans this year as they are also releasing a film called 'TourPlay', which is a behind-the-scenes video diary of their journey over the past year, through Vue cinemas, exclusively, nationwide on October 28.
'McBusted' is set for release on December 1.
The full track listing for the album is as follows:

The 'House of Lies' actress, who is expecting her second child and already has daughter Lincoln, 19-months, with her husband, Dax Shepard, admits they are way more relaxed this time round and haven't started decorating a nursery for their unborn baby yet.
The 34-year-old star, who is in her third trimester, told Us Weekly magazine: "There's been zero nursery prep... we're just going to push it around in a bassinet. Caring for a newborn is pretty stressful, but no overly so - just feed it and keep it clean."

She said: "It's hard to take focus off her [Lincoln] and think about the second baby, even though the second baby is here and growing."

The 36-year-old actor admits he's old-fashioned when it comes to impressing a lady and insists he'd never let his partner Diane Kruger cover her bill, unless she specifically asks to split it, when they're out for dinner.
When asked if he'd ever split the bill on a date, he told UsMagazine: "Nah, can't do that. Unless the woman specifically asks. You should always pay the bill. Chivalry is part of being a gentleman. but I don't think actually being composed at all times is gentlemanly."
However, the hunky star, who has been dating Diane since 2006, doesn't think men should hold their temper at all times and believes anger is healthy occasionally.
He explained: "Sometimes you need to be outraged by things, and I think that's part of being a man. There are certain thing you shouldn't stand by and witness.
"Lots of things make me lose my cool, so maybe I'm rationalising, but I don't feel that a quiet forbearance is gentlemanly."
Meanwhile, Joshua recently opened up on the reason he and Diane, 38, haven't got married yet but insists they may tie the knot at some point in the future.
He said earlier this month: "I can tell you why we're not married: We're not religious. I don't feel any more or less committed to Diane for not having stood in front of a priest and had a giant party.
"We're both children of divorce, so it's hard for me to take marriage at face value as the thing that shows you've grown up and are committed to another person. But it may change at some point. We may get married."
